(-- signals that future francis is speaking)

.

The morning saturday light from the sun shines brightly from window at the side of the bed, directly hitting the faces of Francis and Gogo who laid on top of each other.

.

Naoko washes the spoons and forks and walks over to the living room, setting up the table for the newly woken up Francis and Gogo who yawned.

.

"What's the food today babs…" Francis asked as he walked over to the table excitedly and stretching his arms with Gogo following suit rubbing her eyes which was quickly silenced by Francis to not rub her eyes.

.

"Cook your own breakfast." She teasingly eats a pancake right in front of them that she only made for herself.

.

"What have I done to anger you madam!" Francis kneels down in front of her seat.

.

Naoko swings her index finger back and forth, "tsk tsk tsk… there might be times I won't be here you know?"

.

"But I don't want that!" he pulls out his puppy eyes, a technique that always works.

.

"Oh my!... Your charms wont work on me this time around!" biting her lip, trying to not give in.

.

--This was only days before she went to the hospital… she probably had a feeling that her time was up…

.

"Tadaaaa!" Minutes later, Francis and Gogo present their half burnt bacon on the dining table to an impressed Naoko.

.

"I knew you could do it, heh." She became smug.

.

"AHHH! I shouldn't have done it! just to spite you!!!"

.

"Oh c'mon… you can't do that to someone with a pretty face like mine…"

.

Francis sighs, thinking she made a good point.

.

"I always knew you could do it… Your good at anything if you just put mind unto it."

.

~~~~
Back to the Francis after Naoko went to the emergency room. Currently sitting back on the apartment, eating with Gogo who has puffy eyes.
.
Francis, frustrated thinking about what the doctor told him earlier.
.
~~~~

"Sorry sir, but we are still preoccupied with patients from Ward 1 who have gotten into an accident here in Ward 3." The doctor spoke without any remorse for Naoko's situation.

.

"How long till she gets treated then?!?"

.

"It's a genetically transferred heart problem right? Then… It depends…" The doctor looked at the piece of paper he was holding with Naoko's information as he poked his glasses to a comfortable place.

.

"What do you by it depends?!" Francis was disgusted as he knew the answer yet still asked, just wanting some kind of reassurance.

.

"Nothing…"

.

"…"

.

"We won't be treating her anytime soon."

.

That last line was basically a spit on the face, the doctor indirectly saying, "How dare you make that face to me? how dare you ask something from me!?! You goddam leach!"

.

~~~~
.
Clank.
.
Francis looks at Gogo eating her breakfast cereal across the table.
.
the melancholy blue lighting devours the room as both don't know what to talk about.
.
Francis looks on at the window next to their bed, the sky swirling and turning grey, signaling rain.
.
(on the tv)
"Bzzt—We are here reporting on Daily News… A little Bizarro is heading for ward 3 later this afternoon shown in the graph, so you can expect heavy rain and thundering. But, you may thank god it's not a catastrophe. And with that… please, stay in-doors for now as always and have a wonderful day, thank you for listening and this is the Daily News signing out. --"
.
Gogo observed that Francis staring at his watch a lot, the one mother gave to him on their anniversary. His breathing was uneasy and he kept scratching the back of his head which made Gogo feel uneasy and uncomfortable.
.
The room felt colder than usual, Gogo kept opening her mouth to speak up and ask about mother but she held herself back, thinking Francis might not want to talk about it as she observed that he would usually just try to keep things to himself and that always worked.
.
Francis who was seeking reassurance and or a shoulder to cry on, yet did not try to reach for them. So, he did not receive them…
.
"Im heading out for a bit. Can you wash the dishes for now? Ill repay you later, okay?" Francis suddenly stood up to leave.
.
"Okay…"
.
"Thank you thank you. Im in a hurry right now because im meeting up with your uncle joseph and some friends, so im really sorry…" he went to grab his hat, still wearing his blue shorts and white shirt, nothing formal.
.
"Yeah yeah its okay."
.
"Im really sorry… Just say if want me to stay…" Francis turned back to his daughter for the last time.
.
"…"
.
Francis waited for her to answer.
.
"… No. Its okay! I can take care of myself you know!" Gogo faked a smile.
.
"…" Francis, looked ahead to the exit door.
"Okay!" He slapped both of his cheeks. "—Ofcourse you can… Your my daughter after all!"
.
Francis did a final thumbs up to her daughter before leaving, and Gogo just watches as his back turns to the door and went farther and farther away.
.
And that's where things started to go wrong… No, maybe… it all went wrong the moment Francis and Naoko were destined to meet.
.
To Be Continued.
