Flat-Brim Samurai Chapter 37

,"Are you serious?" an MMA coach replied as he read yet another one of Apollo's "challenge notes" that he had sent out to many many dojo's. The anger he felt as he read the note was presented in his scrunched forehead. He was determined to prove that his students and himself included were the best. ,"This little shit will have so much coming for him" He said, clenching the note in his hand with fury. He briefed his students and told them ,"We must show this guy that we mean business, this transgression WILL NOT BE TOLERATED" ,"YES SIR" they all said in unisine.

Apollo walked up to the front ,"This is the place" he smiled and then opened the door. He found everyone waiting, standing and lifting their chins up to try to show their strength. Apollo didn't really care for it so he walked up to the coach and said with a smile ,"Hi, are we going to start now?" The coach stared at him and said ,"Get in the ring" with a straight face that showed a twinge of anger.

Apollo got into an octagonal ring, and went to the opposing side from which the door was. He put on some gloves they threw at him and prepared for his matches. Although many of these guys played as if they were strong, they were weaker than Apollo by miles. The technical skill he sensed from the Jiu Jitsu sensei wasn't nearly as profound in the coach. The coach was hot headed, easy to anger and just a muscle head(Like Noah except stupid when it came to actual fighting skill).

Apollo knew he could learn something from these people, that was what not to do, he had to be calm. His first opponent entered the ring, he said ,"You think you're strong, I'll show you what true power is" while gritting his teeth. Apollo replied with a slow ,"Right…" and as the bell went off they stepped towards each other. They eyed each other's movements and narrowed in. The guy went to punch Apollo with a hook but Apollo weaved under it and punched him with a hook of his own right into the guy's stomach. The guy then went down and curled up in a ball.

Everyone, surprised at the power exhibited, was frightened but also curious, they tried to talk themselves into believing they were strong enough. Their ego prevailed and one sided match after one sided match ended up with wins for Apollo. He had beaten everyone with little difficulty and said ,"Is that it, all that talk and this is all?" Then the coach stepped up ,"I will be your next opponent" he said smiling. Apollo had already set his bar low but for these students to be this bad, the teacher was probably a new low. Apollo shouted to the students ,"Please go to a different coach to be better, this guy is not the teacher you want. I mean if even the most quote on quote experienced student can't even do the basics, you shouldn't be learning from this guy."

,"You're scared," the coach said, like a teenage boy trying to show off to his crush. ,"If I'm scared, then bring it on," Apollo replied, smiling and flicking his fingers back and forth. Apollo slipped the punch the coach threw at him, and went to roundhouse the clown. Surprisingly, the guy actually dodged it ,"Heh, you can't even hit me? What a loser." Apollo thought (Who is this guy, a child) and said ,"Why don't we kick this up a bit" BAM…

,"What's happening?" The coach said, looking at the ceiling. ,"That guy punched you and you just fell like a wet blanket…" ,"Damn it, DAAAAMMMNNN ITTTTTT" Apollo walked home amused thinking (I can't believe someone like him can own a studio like that).

His name was spreading around, rumors of the Flat-Brim Samurai and his new moniker, the Dojo Contender. People thought all he did was martial arts and they were curious as to why he had gotten that name, although some people inferred in part that it was because of his hat. The full meaning of the name, only a select few people actually knew. From another city, someone had heard what was happening and had planned to meet up with Apollo ,"I can't wait to show him my moves, this is my time to shine."
