"Perfect that will do for introductions. Today will be a more lax day compared to the journey that you have ahead, You will find your classes and gather the materials given to you from your teachers before ending the day with a small test of strength. We understand that after battling over 10,000 prospective students, you would have obviously just got over your exhaustion thus we will test you against someone who can feel your true strength, Myself."
The room seemed to shift at her last words, even if it sounded innocent the look she was giving was anything but. I could feel her intent radiating off her and I could tell the other students could too given the pale faces that they had.
"Looks like time is up off to your classes. I look forward to your test of strength. I can't wait to bull- ahem assess you."

The rest of the day was sub par with simple walking and introductions from our tutors followed by being given countless books on different subjects, However the academy didn't give out dimensional storage artifacts to students at the start of the year, Even the elite had to earn them first as they were rare and hard to create. The head master was one of the few people with extreme control over the space element meaning he could create storage artifacts but it was still expensive to get the materials and it was time consuming for them to be created but even those at the bottom of the food chain would eventually gain a storage artifact.
This meant that almost all of the students were carrying heaps of books from all of the classes unless they were the high nobles that could afford the artifact early. This put me in a predicament where I could carry the books or I could use my storage space. I decided to do both by putting half of the books into my storage while I held the other half.
We were given an hour to drop off all of our books at our lockers before we were to go to the hall where we did the written test to 'spar' with our homeroom teacher.
As expected it turned into a slaughter where she just stood there while students pelted spells and weapons at her until they exhausted themselves. Once the smoke would dissipate she would be standing there unharmed and then she would kick the students across the room causing a web of cracks to form across the room.
This caused the morale of all the students to fall as the reality of our situation came to us. The only students of note were those in the top 10 as they actually managed to put up a fight. Whether they used magic or aura they used their brains to create situations where our teacher couldn't just stand there.
It seemed that they caught the interest of our homeroom teacher but I didn't know whether that was a good thing or a bad thing to be honest. They could have just signed their souls away to something that was a lot worse than a demon.
"You made me move how quaint."
A single cut was all they had managed to do to our professor but it managed to rile her up, a grin filled with a deep malice etched itself upon her face, Instantly the top 10 were flung across the room like the others however they ended up indented in the walls. Once the hysteria had died down the professor had a sleek rapier in her hand that was slightly longer than normal, the guard and grip was a deep black that glowed with blue runes that increased her agility and dexterity along with helping with the casting of water orientated spells. She was known for her proficiency with that blade that had killed oh so many, making them drown upon their own blood while washing away her enemies. And to use it on students meant that she was getting serious maybe a bit too serious.
After weighing all my options I decided that I couldn't hide all of my abilities if I wanted genuine help with my magic and combat so I would try to excel in that area while seeming mundane in others.
Basically I would make myself look like a battle maniac with more brawn than brains.
Upon my turn I decided that I would go all out while hiding my cards that I couldn't allow others to see. Each and every movement along with each spell would have to be honed but with my low level of understanding of my weapons I was sure I would just come out mediocre.

It seemed that this year we would have promising recruits for the academy. We had little time for their growth and to bring out their potential but we had no choice. They were finally making their move and we needed the world to help us no matter what. I did feel guilty. Immense guilt, what we were doing was creating child soldiers just for our own goals under the pretext of increasing relations between races. Little did the world know that we had ended the wars against the other races for we had a new contender that we had to face. Something that was stronger than anything we had seen before.
The world had blessed the human kingdom with a seer. A being close to a deity who could glimpse the future of our race. What they foretold was gruesome. A being that cared not for race nor gender that killed indiscriminately. A being who painted the world crimson. They would arrive from the unknown and bring calamity upon the world. Covered in a deep hatred for humanity that burnt away the soul of those going against it.
We needed to prepare for their arrival. Even if it meant using children and indoctrinating a hatred for an unknown being. We would do what we needed to survive.
Each member of the A class would be a commander of sorts, an army within an army capable of destroying the enemy on their own but also having command over others while supporting the heroes. We were unsure of when the being would arrive but each generation would be nurtured for the battle ahead.

If only I knew that we were the problem. And we were very wrong. Danm that bastard!
