The air was tense as the wolf's growl reverberated through the surroundings, its instincts wary of the sword before it.
"Your sword level up to level 2"
Necro says to the wolf to calm down while whispering under his breath, eyes locked on the now-leveled sword.
"Your sword level up to level 3"
Almost as if responding to Necro's words, the sword glowed, leveling up not once, but thrice in rapid succession. "This is cool," Necro remarked, his excitement palpable.
Faye, however, couldn't shake her unease. "I have a bad feeling about this," she cautioned, her concern contrasting with Necro's enthusiasm.
But her apprehensions became reality as the sword progressed to level four. The handle of the sword extended, ensnaring Necro's hand, a bizarre fusion of man and weapon.
"What the heck?" Necro exclaimed, caught off guard by the unexpected turn of events. A message from the System provided some insight into the situation, warning of the creature's dominance.
Reacting swiftly, Necro cast a protective chakra armor on his hand, fortifying his defense. In that tense moment, he could feel two distinct pressures trying to breach his defenses and trying to pierce the back of his hand.
Desperation fueled his attempt to escape the impending danger. He attempted to resort to his storage ability, only to be met with the System's denial: "Can't store a living being."
"Absorb!" he commanded, clutching for any solution. The System's response dashed his hopes yet again: "Can't absorb a creature 1 level above u unless it's a subjugated core."
With his other hand, he grabbed his initial sword, brandishing it with determination, and pointed it to the furious eye of the new sword. "Here's the deal, You release my hand or I will make you release it!"
The confrontation reached an unexpected climax as the sword's eye slowly closed, its grip relenting. It fell to the ground, seemingly pacified by Necro's resolve.
The voice of the System echoed in his mind, congratulating him on overcoming the challenge of a creature a level higher.
"LIFEFORGER REACHED LEVEL 4, elevating all remaining creatures to the same level".
Exhausted, Necro took a seat on a nearby stone, his feet submerged in the calming waters. As he glanced at the back of his hand, he noticed two red dots, a testament to the ordeal he had just endured.
Faye's voice broke the silence, a hint of mischief lacing her words. "You know, there's a quote for this."
Necro sighed tiredly, humor tinging his response. "Let me guess, 'I warned you?'"
Faye's retort was quick and sassy: "No, it's 'FUDGE AROUND AND FIND OUT.'"
A momentary respite from the tension found its way into their exchange. But amidst their banter, an unnoticed event occurred: Slime number 2 stealthily jumped onto the strange sword, enveloping it completely.
The wolf's growl snapped Necro's attention back to the unfolding scene. "Hey, come here, don't approach that annoying sword," he called out to the slime number 2, his voice tinged with concern.
Faye couldn't resist adding a humorous twist, her words laced with innuendo. "Maybe it's trying to mate with it? You know, that's what two living beings do. You probably did it in your past life, since you had a daughter"
Necro rolled his eyes, the exchange pushing his patience to the limit. "Oh, shut up."
Faye's teasing was relentless. "Ow, I just remembered you're a virgin in this life."
Desperation laced his voice as he sought relief. "System, is there a way to make this AI shut up?"
The System tantalizingly hinted at an option, prompting Faye's sudden willingness to cooperate. "Wait, wait, wait, I will behave."
A twist of fate emerged as the System unveiled a new skill learned by the slime. "Your slime learned 'copy skill'," it announced, leaving Necro perplexed by the bizarre development.
"Great, just what I needed. One evil sword was too much already," Necro muttered, a mixture of frustration and exhaustion in his voice.
