As I savored my meal, a sudden pang of pain gripped my stomach, causing me to clench my fists in discomfort.
"Monster meat detected, initiating self-healing and magic healing," the system's voice echoed in my mind.
I gritted my teeth, determined not to let out a scream. The pain gradually subsided, and then the unexpected happened.
"Poison resistance leveled up," the system announced.
I wiped the sweat from my brow and reached for another piece of meat, feeling a mixture of exasperation and resolve. Faye, bewildered, asked if I had lost my mind, and I replied with conviction that challenges only made me stronger. I was no longer a child but a man who would do whatever it took to become stronger.
After finishing my meal, I gathered some firewood and lit a fire inside my shelter. Instructing slime number 1 to clean the cooking stones, I watched as the creature's body underwent a subtle change.
"Slime 1 learned fire resistance," the system informed me. I shrugged off the oddity and turned my attention to recharging the protective ward. Once done, I retreated into my makeshift shelter, using the wolf pelt as a makeshift bed.
With my mind focused, I contemplated the fourth slot in my skill list. It felt like stepping into a dim room, my presence detected by the system as I accessed the creation room—the place where DNA could be used to form new life or erase existing creations.
"Choose a base creature," the system prompted.
Three options appeared before me: slime base, wolf base, and living sword base. I chose the living sword, and the system continued, "Pick 4 skills for it."
A list of skills I possessed appeared on the screen. My instinct was to avoid choosing "that growth stuff" skill—its ominous presence was undeniable. Instead, I selected predator gaze, and regenerative essence, and then turned to Faye for advice.
She chimed in with a suggestion, urging me to integrate the chakra skills from my monk job. It made sense; if I aimed to level up my swordsman job, I'd need a strong foundation first.
"System: Wanna simulate creating it?" the system offered.
I was taken aback by the possibility. "Run it," I responded.
In the simulation, a living sword took shape, adorned with an all-seeing eye and bone hand guards. It grew in power as it leveled up, its eye exuding wisdom.
"Simulation complete," the system reported.
With confidence, I uttered the command, "Create."
"Number of creations reached a limit. Wanna erase one of the slimes?" the system inquired.
I decided to erase slime 3, waiting for my essence to replenish before summoning the creation. A sensation of weight formed on my right hand, and there it was—the Chakravore Symbiotic Blade, an entity of its own accord.
As I gazed at the eye above the handle, I felt a strange detachment from it. There were no emotions, just wisdom emanating from it.
Faye observed, "This one looks loyal, not angry like the previous."
**Chakravore Symbiotic Blade (Level 4):**
**Description:** A sentient living sword forged through the life-forger skill, infused with various abilities and skills. This unique creation draws upon the essence of defeated foes to sustain itself, while also possessing the power of chakra manipulation and protective chakra armor.
**Stats:**
- **Damage:** 35-55 (Physical)
- **Durability:** 100/100
- **Weight:** 2.5 kg
**Special Properties:**
1. **Predator's Gaze:** Enhance perception and unveil opponents' weaknesses.
2. **Bloodbound Regeneration:** Absorb blood from defeated foes to repair and replenish durability.
3. **Chakra Manipulation:** Sense chakra on its own body, granting heightened awareness.
4. **Chakra Armor:** Create a protective barrier to shield the user from harm.
**Note:** The sword's properties are intricately intertwined with its living nature, allowing it to evolve and adapt over time. The eye above the handle grants an eerie awareness, while the bone hand guards provide both protection and a menacing presence on the battlefield.
I nodded in agreement. The intricacies of life forging were slowly revealing themselves to me. Tomorrow, I would venture out to hunt, armed with newfound ideas and a hunger for materials.
