The tearing of space wasn't audible to anyone's ears. The portals were a vacuum of space as such it was soundless.
The air however was a different thing as sound can use it as a medium. Sounds like scratching a wood would be heard before it quickly disappears as you tear space.
Silently the trio reaped through space jumping through lands hundreds of metersĀ away from each other with breaks in between.
Liliane needed to catch her breath and by that it means that she needs to recover her energy.
Jumping through space requires a lot of Nyxavor and it will greatly exhaust the person, especially when great lengths are covered.
Thus, after a period of time that couldn't be called long or short, they managed to arrive at their destination.
Everdale City, one of the wealthiest cities owned by one of the wealthiest families in the entire continent, the Everdale Family. They are not only wealthy but also powerful, though it isn't because they were strong themselves but the numerous connections they made that could compare them with the strongest families.
A crack formed in the space just a few meters away from the heavily guarded entrance of the city. The guards there were cultivators at the second realm. Upon seeing the crack appear, a commotion was held in the crowd.
They mumbled to each other as they guessed the identity of the powerful person who will appear. As they know, only those in the third realm can open a tear in space at their will. It was even more amazing than just flying itself.
"Hey, who do you think will come out of the portal? Guessing from the size of that crack it must at least be two people coming out." One of the people near the entrance asked his friend next to him.
His friend thought about it for a moment before making a guess himself. "It must be someone from the Demon King of Envy. After all, I heard one of their illegitimate sons is currently staying here. If not, then it might be someone from the central regions." After making a guess he made another one.
"I thought that too, Oh, look! Three people are coming out of the space crack!" He loudly said as he noticed Liliane and the others go through the portal.
However, to their surprise, they didn't know any of them. They stared at them for a moment making their own theories but did not do it for too long as they might offend them.
It was rude to stare at people for too long, soon the crowd minded their own business as they quickly lost interest in the three.
"It's big." Siphyr said to himself as he observed the wide gate. Then, his attention moved towards the large walls. It towered for about 20 meters tall and it was several times thicker than a building wall.
The city wall also had a formation to strengthen it even further and to think that such a wall covers a large city must've cost a lot of money.
After a few moments of looking, Siphyr walked towards the entrance with Diane sleeping on his back. Liliane followed suit and walked behind them like a guard.
"Do you have a card?" Questioned one of the guards to which Siphyr shook his head in response. "Then, if you want access to go inside the city you must pay 50 silvers for a card pass that'll last you a month, that is if you don't own a business or not being a resident in the city." The guard informed, his hand then reached out gesturing for the pay.
'It's pretty expensive, I guess that's to be expected as a city of this size needs a lot of maintenance and resources to run.' Siphyr thought to himself. He then stared at Liliane while giving her a kind smile.
Liliane understood what he wanted and took out 2 gold coins from her storage ring and gave it to the guard. Receiving the gold coins the guard said, "Please wait for a moment, I'll give this to someone to make you a temporary identity card." Then, he left and moved towards a certain place.
"I'll pay you back later. After all, this is a good opportunity to earn some money in this wealthy city." Siphyr said to Liliane, he was planning on trying a business to earn money on his own. Siphyr didn't plan to rely on his family that much, he also needed to be independent.
Liliane shook her head hearing Siphyr's words, "It's fine, you don't need to pay me back. I... I- I'm your wife after all.... Also, are you planning on making a business in this city?" She questioned to avoid Siphyr teasing her after what she said.
Siphyr smiled, though he didn't tease her. He was quite happy hearing that and she was also getting rid of her shyness. "Of course, though it'll only be for a while, so I'm planning on a business that won't take too much time." He causally announced his plan to Liliane.
After a while, a familiar guard returned with three cards on their hands. It was bronze in color with a tinge of white on the side.
"Here you go esteemed guests, please enjoy your stay in the city. If you need a room to stay at please ask some local guards or guide, they will guide you to the nearest inn or hotel." He said with a bow as he handed the cards to them.
Now that they were officially guests of the city, the guards treated them with much respect and it was quite admirable.
"Then, let's go in shall we?" Siphyr walked towards the entrance. Liliane followed from behind but at the moment they stepped in the entrance, they felt a foreign energy scanning their bodies.
They didn't panic as they knew it was the work of the formation and they naturally held out their cards. The cards were scanned successfully and the foreign energy vanished as if it was never there.
