Time flew by and Oliver was now seventeen (17) years old. He now new how to use magic with and without the pendant and can communicate with his biological mother. Because of his usage of magic his hair faded from a dark raven colour to a white-sliver colour. This caused him to look more like his mother. His eighteenth (18th) birthday was coming up in a few weeks.
Jessica was still taking care of Oliver as she continued to monitor him and pay attention to his movements and behavior. She deeply cared for Oliver but she couldn't allow him to figure out the secret of the other world, his home. Jessica was always cautious about her actions towards Oliver as her job was to help the king take over the royal heir permanently as well as achieving immortality. As much as Jessica was older she would be classified as what the king would call nieve.
••• April, Monday 25•••
Oliver started his day as usual, he got up,took a shower, ate breakfast, brushed his teeth and then did whatever he had to afterwards. Today however, was a lot different. Oliver's mom was contacting him much more often throughout the day which made him worried. She sounded so hurt and honestly began to wonder if Jessica would know anything about his situation and could be able to help.
Jessica was in the garden watering her roses as Oliver approached her. "Mom?Can I ask you something?" Oliver questioned as he gently spoke to Jessica. "Oh... ofcourse dear, what is it you need?" Jessica responded as she put her watering can down. "Do you know how I can return to my world or dimension or wherever I came from?" Oliver asked as he looked into Jessica's eyes for reassurance. Jessica froze at the question as her face turned pale.
Oliver brought Jessica inside to sit down as she looked and probably felt weaker. "No..." Jessica finally breathed out as her face started to regain its colour. Oliver looked over her with disbelief and uncertainty as he remained quiet. "Are you sure? I mean you were pretty adamant about adopting me...why did you do that?" Oliver started to question as he looked at Jessica hoping she would answer. "Because it was...it was and still is my job" Jessica revealed as she felt she couldn't hide anything anymore.
"Wait what do you mean? Are you saying this was all planned? By who?" Oliver interrogated as he could not believe what he was hearing. Jessica remained silent as she got up from where she was seated and went towards her room where she picked up a box and brought it back to Oliver. "It was an order given from your uncle, the king...he wanted to ensure you'd be dead before your birthday in which you would turn of age to get the throne"
Oliver's face distorted into shock and anger. "I...I can't trust you anymore can I?" Oliver inferred as his eyes filled with rage and disappointment" Jessica only remained silent as she started sobbing. "I care for you Oliver but it is my duty to ensure you'd be dead..." Jessica said as she drew a knife from her pocket and held it close to your neck. "Just who exactly are you?!" Oliver shouted as he leaned his head back away from the knife. "I am not Jessica, Oliver I am Miranda, one the royal's most favoured executors."
