Tapiwa smiled as she walked out of RAD. She was on cloud nine as she held her business certificate, as well as the list of taxes to be paid each year and the government advantages for female entrepreneurs.
By the time she left the RAD, it was already lunchtime, and luckily for her, stores in this era didn't close for lunch.
They were open from the moment they opened in the morning until they closed.
Following the acquisition of her certificate, she desired to obtain a business logo for her company.
She wanted a logo that would alert everyone that this was Tapiwa Sims' business.
It was akin to how noble and royal families have crests that represent who they are.
These crests would be placed on flags of family, gates, or carriages. It wasn't necessary to guess who owned the carriage; merely look at the crest and go from there.
She was the owner of a household, and because her ambitions were long-term, she was determined to make every single moment count.
She needed to go to an art store to get this logo done. Scholars who enjoyed sketching and writing typically ran these art stores.
She can order a logo as well as the other business books she will require in the future from the same store. She will have everything customized in the future to make everything standardized and uniform.
She approached the shop with relief because it was one of the few in the city that wasn't packed.
She wasn't willing to wait any longer after spending so much time at RAD.
"Good day, madam. How may I assist you?" asks a young girl who appears to be around eighteen.
Tapiwa smiled at the girl and said, "I'd like to have some customized drawings done. Is the scholar present?"
When she heard that, the girl's eyes lit up, and she swiftly responded, "Yes, the scholar in. Please come here and wait. I'm going to phone him."
Tapiwa nodded as she followed the girl to the bench.
The girl left for a brief interval before reappearing with a smile, "Please wait, the scholar will join you in a moment."
"Sure, and thank you."
Tapiwa then began observing the shop and mentally listing items she would also like to purchase.
Tapiwa had been sitting for around three to five minutes when she heard footsteps approaching and raised her head to see who was coming.
A scholarly-looking suited man, perhaps in his forties, entered the shop from the other side.
'These deceptive appearances. Only fools assume these scholars are kindred spirits!'
This, however, remained in her thoughts as a smile was placed on her face without revealing anything.
"I heard you wanted to customize a drawing, madam. How can I help?" the scholar inquired as soon as he was in front of her.
She was privately thrilled as she saw the man get right down to business. She was not going to sit there and face the agony of these scholars' duplicity.
They enjoy reciting poems and discussing logic. And some of the concepts they liked to talk about, especially when she used to listen to them years ago, they liked to talk down on women as if they weren't born from them.
She took out her business certificate and handed it to the scholar, explaining what she wanted, "I want to have a business insignia made. This is my business license."
The scholar wasn't startled because he was used to seeing women with registered businesses, but the fact that a woman came to order a business emblem was unique to him, and he was interested in what she was up to.
He accepted the certificate and returned it after ensuring that everything was in order. After all, they couldn't keep the certificate; they just needed to view it before serving the customer.
"Okay, so what kind of insignia do you want to be made?" he inquired as he sat down next to her on the seat.
"I have drawn a rough sketch here," Tapiwa said, pulling out a folded paper she had brought with her from the inn, "You may refer to it. The one on top is for business, and the one below is for my household."
Tapiwa, as the leader of her home, desired her own insignia that was unrelated to the business.
"Could you please tell me more about the designs? This way, I can combine what you drew with what you're saying to create the final drawings."
Tapiwa frowned at the man for a moment before saying, "Okay, I'll go into more detail. These drawings should be created in a way that allows them to be drawn on a wooden seal stamp or added to book receipts and invoices."
"Don't worry about that. We are professionals, and it is our responsibility to provide quality service to our clients," the scholar assured.
Of course, Tapiwa trusted the man in this matter. After all, academicians are quite concerned with maintaining their reputation.
"With that point, I'm at ease. So, it's like this, the figure in the center of the business symbol is a woman-shaped tree with branches that spread around it and dig into the earth. The branches are likewise covered in strong, luxuriant leaves. The woman-shaped tree is circled, and the company name is written on the upper semi-circle."
"As for the personal insignia, unlike most crests, I don't want a shield. The centerpiece should look like......" Tapiwa continued to describe her wishes to the scholar who mentally recorded everything.
As he listened to her, he was filled with excitement and pleasure.
It wasn't every day that he got to something do so unusual and different.
He was excited to get started on the job.
"This is doable. So, do you just want the drawings, or do you want the seal stamps as well?"
"I just wanted to do it all once. Do you make those here as well?" she asked.
"We don't offer those services, but I know someone who does," the scholar said after a slight shake of his head. "He is excellent, reasonably priced, and you will not be disappointed," he exclaimed.
He had known that guy for a long time, and like him, the craftsman was a fan of adventures. If he were given such drawings to make stamps, he was confident that the man would be pleased.
Tapiwa didn't know many people, but because the scholar insisted, she decided to follow him. After all, taking professional guidance could save you a lot of time and trouble.
"Then I will go along with him."
"That's a wise decision."
"While we're at it, I'd like to have the company logo drawn on three books. There is an invoice, a receipt, and a registration book. Can this be done here?" she asked, her gaze fixed on the scholar.
Hearing this, the scholar's beating heart slowed down, and he smiled at Tapiwa, "We also offer these kinds of services. Simply leave this to us."
Tapiwa and the scholar worked things out, and after more negotiations, she paid the deposit and smiled as she exited the art shop.
