Chapter 31 - CHAPTER 31: MIRACLES DO HAPPEN

Days passed fast, and Tapiwa was never idle during that time.

Tapiwa's pockets were finally filled with something after establishing a business contract with the Michaels couple. She was well aware, however, that this money was a long way from what she wanted.

She planned to develop her estate into something spectacular because she had already registered a business.

And all of her grand goals necessitated a large sum of money.

She'd need a lot of gold to keep going, and this was just the beginning.

She sold the recipes to the couple for a lower price because she wanted to create a stronger relationship with them. Besides, she genuinely liked the couple.

However, just because she liked them didn't imply, she won't do business with others.

And this brings us to the current scenario Tapiwa was in.

When she wasn't at the inn, she was busy window shopping and exploring even the most isolated locations in search of treasures. It was always in these places that the main characters would discover the wealth that would set them apart from the rest of the world.

Tapiwa, who had such a lovely dream and had her life turned for the better, also decided to try her luck for the first time.

She tried this for three days, but unfortunately, she didn't have any luck finding something decent.

However, on the fourth day, she came across a very familiar situation when she was out of the city and in a nearby mountain doing some sightseeing and picking up some duartz stones for her meditation baths.

Tapiwa, who had obtained a good deal the previous time due to a hasty decision, repeated the process.

She was picking up stones and admiring the surroundings when she heard someone scream, and the scream was full of pain.

There was no need for any analysis to determine that whoever was shouting was in excruciating pain, and hearing that, especially a feminine voice, Tapiwa simply went towards the sound without hesitation.

She had witnessed so much pain and suffering in the lives of women, and after witnessing so many cases in her dreams of how women were sexually abused, especially in remote areas such as mountains and forests, she ran anticipating the worst.

And don't even ask her why she wasn't terrified of dying like other ladies. She guessed she was that brave.

Tapiwa dashed through the forest, controlling the earth, tracking vibrations, and heading directly for this woman.

She was terrified that day. What if she showed up when it's too late? She didn't want to think about the worst-case scenario, but not everyone was fortunate enough to survive some circumstances.

At the same time, she didn't want to limit her thoughts to the female being sexually attacked. Since they were on the mountain, other things could make a woman scream, such as too many snakes and wild animals. Women were mostly afraid of those, so hearing someone screaming in fear would make sense. And surely that was the case in Tapiwa's scenario that day.

Tapiwa was surprised to hear that a big spider had unfortunately landed on the girl's hand and scared her. She found the girl very amusing at first. Why would she make so much noise just because of a spider? Wasn't she afraid of attracting bad people simply because of her foolishness? But the more she looked at how scared the girl was, the more her heart softened.

Seeing her alone in the mountain, Tapiwa assumed she had run away from home for some reason. However, as curious as she was, she didn't dare to ask and simply escorted the girl out of the mountain, and on the way back to the city, she politely advised the girl to never do something so dangerous like that again.

Tapiwa was as meek as a mouse by the time she successfully returned the runaway girl to her house, which happened to be a noble house, as she had guessed before.

Tapiwa, who had brought the runaway girl back home, was interrogated so strongly by the anxious and worried parents that she nearly broke out and caused a scene. But she kept her cool and just let them ask whatever they wanted.

She was born and reared in a family of merchants. Even though they were wealthy, they couldn't compete with the noble families who had previously fought for the country or the families who were currently part of the administration.

What she didn't expect was for her to save the favorite daughter of an old court minister. She was the minister's child at a later age; therefore, she was lavishly spoiled.

The small girl known as Ruth ran away from home after a misunderstanding at home, without anybody knowing, and avoided her guardians and maids.

They had no idea where she had gone, and if they went looking for her in a public place, it might generate problems. This is why, despite Ruth being away for a few hours, the entire city was unaffected, because no one knew she had disappeared except her family.

They had been searching for her in secret, and Tapiwa had gratefully returned her safely.

As a result of her generosity, Tapiwa was invited to Ruth's family house, where she had been enjoying a lavish meal for some time.

She felt as though she were seated among royalty, and the sensation was priceless.

"I just wanted to thank you again for bringing our child back to us. We would never have anticipated that she would go to that peak of all places!" a woman in her fifties remarked softly, looking at Tapiwa, who was drinking wine from a cup.

Tapiwa sweetly smiled at this woman who had looked so harsh to her the day before but was now all warm and appearing like an entirely different person and remarked back, "Any sane person would do this. I'm just grateful it wasn't anything major because otherwise, neither of us would have survived."
