Chapter 32 - Chapter 31: Two weeks Ago

As Kamila watched the night sky as she reminisced about the past few weeks that had passed.

' What a bad month I've had,' she laughed.

***

Two weeks Ago

Kamila felt her body lighten as her consciousness fell into darkness before being immediately ejected

Her mind span as she clutched her head feeling nauseous, she found herself in a forest full of tall towering trees with very little light touching the forest floor much like Kaleb

She was seated on the small clearing around one metre radius surrounded by Grass and other short plants with beautiful flowers or leaves.

She looked around and could only see trees as far as her eyes could see, up above the skies blue, Cloudless with single yellow orange eye gazing down.

She let her eyes wander around capturing her surroundings noting the various details that she picked up

A prompt suddenly appeared Infront of her much like Kaleb and all the participants as she received the same message they all received...well except Kaleb that is

[ Welcome to The Trials Of The Phyrillic Mountains.]

[Conquer and Survive]

[ Only the Top 50 Territories shall advance to the next trials.]

[ All your previous attainments have been purged. Within the Phyrillic Trials you can only utilize what is provided. All mana, elements and abilities have been sealed.]

[ Your body has been reduced to that of a mortal that has never touched Cultivation. Cultivation does not and cannot work or function within the trial and will and can lead to backlash.]

[ You have been provided a myriad of weapon, you can choose any three, nothing more nothing less.]

[ You have 30 minutes to ask any queries you might have.]

Kamila silently analyzed her situation as an armory of weapons appeared Infront of her, it had all the weapons she had ever seen or heard of from swords to sabers to spears to polearms to lances to Axes to bows name it.

Kamila walked forward assessing the weapons not stopping as she specifical stared at the collection of polearms, spears lances and anything with long reach with bladed heads.

" Hello....can we pick armor too or are we limited to weapons only?" she asked trying not to prioritize her offense over defense

[ Armor can also be picked, however only one of the three choices can be upgraded per promotion] The prompt replied seemingly picking up Kamila 's intent on asking questions.

" What is the basis of Promotion? Is it the same as the Trial itself or different?" Kamila asked once more

[ The Trial and promotion are more or less the same, it's only through promotion can you pass the trial or at the very least advance]

The prompt paused seemingly noticing Kamila's confused expression it continued

[ With Every Territory Cleared or conquered your weapon of choice shall be upgraded, this upgrade is termed as promotion and is what dictates your progress. Your weapons will change color with every upgrade, you all start at Copper then Bronze to Silver then Gold with the highest being Platinum.]

[ Platinum is First Place, Gold Is top 10, Silver is top 50, Bronze is top 100, while Copper is every territory below, right now all territories are at Copper and will have to grind their way up the ladder to qualify for the next trial.]

" I see....the fact that you've insisted on territory and not participant mean teaming up is allowed....no wonder the sects and families came in groups," Kamila deduced from the prompt.

[ If that's all there...Ehhh Please Hold as I Attend to a....]

The prompt glitched it's clearly sounded panicked as it didn't even finish it's lines before disconnecting.

"O-ok then I guess even magical prompts have bad days," Kamila chuckled at her bad joke as she picked out a single Armor along with a Spear and Lance.

She swung the spear for Abit adjusting her form and grip until she felt comfortable with it

" Yap this will work," she nodded before hanging the spear on her back, the Armory had provided a sheath strap which could be hang over her shoulder.

A few minutes later the prompt returned slightly worried as it informed the participants of the beginning of the Trial

' It's overly frightened, I wonder what is it that could make the prompt so nervously scares?!' Kamila contemplated not knowing that her brother caused the Prompt major distress.

She stealthily walked into the forest her steps were cautious not wanting to make any sound, her senses heightened as her ears twitched with every sound, her nose taking in all the different scents as she distinguished and sorted them in every breath she took, her eyes peered into the distance analyzing and tracking anything that may spell danger, her every fibre if skin was raised in sensitivity as even the metallic shaft of her spear was detailed in her hands.

Then she heard it, the ruffling of leaves, the crunching of branches and twigs, the low grunt and growls.

And then she smelt it the mild smell of dried iron, blood was in the air, followed by the scent of dried urine and wet fur, a predator was stalking it's prey

The hairs of her skin stood full erect as if warning her of the dangers that stalked the forest floor

And then she saw it hidden behind the foliage of plants and bushes, a predator on four stalked it's ground, it was tall almost three meters with green fur that let it blend in with it's surroundings it's amber eyes were craved with bloodlust as it desperately awaited it's next meal, it's claws sharp and pointed like carved swords of steel, and it's teeth like daggers of a renown assassin.

It sniffed the air as it eyes locked on a specific bush it drew closer as the scent it picked up grew stronger it growled lightly as if expressing it's delight.

Just as it was about to leap forward a Spear shot forward wheezing through the air, the predator animalistic instincts kicked in as it dodged moving it's head to the side

But the spear had done it's job, drawing first blood as the predators cheek now oozed with blood that trickles down it's face till it begun to drip and drop.

Kamila jumped backwards her other spear in hand as she assumed a defensive stance, her eyes although not fearful held a trace of doubt, this would be her first fight unsupervised and aline without her brother
