Chapter 34 - Chapter 33: The Varia Bloodline

Hundreds of miles away within the Varia Household at the Temple of Ancestors was the Familial Tablet of The Varia Household

It held the names of all the Varia's ever born wether it be the main family or the branch families, even the bastards were recorded in the tablet as it was made from the blood of the Progenitor of the Varia Bloodline Berian Varia.

The current elders had no idea how the ingenious tablet was constructed but with it all those of her bloodline were recorded

Now within the temple where the Lineage Tablet sat a name begin to glow, it sat in the lower part of the tablet hidden beneath the multitude of name, some also had the reddish brown glow while other were purely white.

The household trembled as the elders made their way to the temple

" Who is it this time?" one of the Elders asked as she run towards the Lineage Tablet

" I'm not sure, but it's probably one from the older generation, they might have awakened the bloodline memories," another speculated

" Where is Gerald this is big news and the Old sack if bones is yet to arrive?" Another woman asked not able to mask her excitement

The Varia Household had faced an unlucky two months from the loss of a Potencial ally to the Bloodline legacy left by their Ancestor along with the trust of a family much grander than theirs

But that was just the tip of the iceberg, as promised by the descendant of The Supreme family the territory of Varia faced rapid decline in mana and elemental density, this led to failure of various alchemic and crafting operations along with the weakened magic prowess of the area

In a few breaths Gerald appeared in the temple his robes hurriedly fixed as his face had beads of sweat, Getrude was also precent within the background with Marcus at her side.

The name grew brighter and brighter soon being far brighter than any of the elders who's names now seemed dull before the radiantly shining name of their descendant.

After a few breaths the radiance still remained but the elders could now gaze at it with no obstruction, Gerald being the first as his heart beat wildly inwards he was extremely happy despite his stoic face, he could finally see the rebirth of his family.

But once his eyes fell upon the name his heart shook and broke, as tears welled up in his eyes, he begun to laugh like a mad man not knowing what to say...

Fate was really punishing the man as all his hopes got drained faster than he had them, the name he saw was one he had never expected.

He had only fairly heard of her as being very interested in comprehension and matters that needed intelligence but never gave it a sparing thought

The girl who was denied the family Cultivation manual and given one that was incomplete despite it's mountainous difficulty to comprehend and she had yet managed to comprehend it upto the red core.

The other elders were soon shook out of their dismay from Gerald laughter as they all made way to the Tablet and read the name

Their faces twisted in envy rage and self-loathing, they knew the name all to well , the name was one of their four greatest mistakes as it now bit them in the worst ways.

Getrude stared at the name as her eyes watered as she smiled, she was happy but sad, a rather complicated mixture of emotions but most of all she was proud of her granddaughter and relieved that she was still alive and making progress in her path.

Gerald laughter echoed within the halls of Varia as most could feel the pained laugh of self loathe that escaped his mouth.

" Kamila really has grown, to think she'll awaken the Bloodline faster than Kaleb given her personality," Marcus said gently smiling as the face of her grandniece came to mind

" Indeed, she was far too reserved and intellectual for our bloodline of crazed fighters," Getrude laughed wiping off her tears " It seems she embraced the battlefield....I hope she persists to the end."

" Getrude your still in good terms with your grandkids why not call them back? I'm sure we've not burned all the bridges? besides it's still Varia blood that runs through their veins, we still own them right?!" Fiona, one of the elders asked her smile forced

" OWNED?! Since when did you Own my grandkids Fiona?!" Getrude bellowed displeased by the latera choice of words

" Well we fed them, grew them, nurtured them, and only because they got less of what the other Descendants had they abandon us and flee with some unknown vagabond?! How is that fair for the family that took care of them for these eighteen odd years?" Fiona persisted her displeasure evident in her tone

" Aahh less resource that went to your grandkids huh Fiona?! Or did you think I didn't know you were among those who suppressed my family line? And even if I'm on good terms with them do you think they'll return to this place?! A place that See's them as nothing more than a means end, a tool?! I refuse to let my grandkids be used again Fiona, that will return in their own free will not under the machinations of another," she declared her grey hair dying itself with shades of red along the tips as her eyes reddened, her mana flared as her staff had already made its way into her hand

Getrude the bane of Knights was ready to fight and her eyes were locked onto Fiona who was reduced to prey before her

" Calm yourself Getrude...No one dhal seek out your grandkids, they've suffered enough behind these walls....and I allowed it ," Gerald stated drawing their attention

" This is our Karma for what happened to the twins parents and them, the fates are finally seeking retribution," he sighed.

" I hope there comes a day when they might forgive us, else we'll have another Dorian Gray in our list of self-made enemies," he sighed once more while walking away

His heart heavy as he went back to his Cultivation hoping that maybe he'll be able to breakthrough before his death comes.
