Chapter 17 - Chapter 16: Encounter

The morning sun drew it's lazy ass from the horizon as the flashes of dawn descended upon the uncaring world. The bitchy morning wind flowed through the dry spelled air spreading it's wetness.

[A/N - I woke up toxic...sorry for today🥲]

Ivan and the twins had already prepared themselves for the journey as they waited to see the vessel I an would show them.

Ivan skimmed through his Spatial bracelet as he came to a halt after picking up a drastically similar trait 'they all need mounts.'

Ivan rubbed his temples as he continued his browse through the bracelet.

He then found a more manageable vessel which he immediately took out.

A carpet flew out with a very detailed and ornamental appearance that made it more exotic, made out of an enchanted and lustrous red wool stitched together in such a way that it forms all manner of interesting patterns along its form, having ornate triangles and abstract symbols along its frame, the images of gold lion heads on each of his four corners, flame-like patterns on its top and bottom, and in its center is the image of eight golden lamps positioned in a circle and surrounded by four gold crescents which are surrounded by smoke-like patterns.

it twirled within the air as it scanned it's surroundings before diving at Ivan and wrapping itself around him, " I missed you too buddy," he smiled lightly as the carpet finally relaxed it's grip.

"Hey Kamila Kaleb, this is Red Leo, Red this is Kamila and Kaleb my disciples-ish friends," he introduced.

Red waved it's upper right corner greeting the twins before turning towards Ivan. "I know they resemble her...Well yeah they're her descendants...what do you mean I'm impotent I just didn't get a chance to settle...heck no why would I Esmeralda would have killed me back then...I'm telling you I'm no pussy..." he replied everytime Red shook his top corners.

"You can understand it?" "Him not it, Red dislikes being called it, he's a magic carpet.

...," Ivan interrupted before being chocked by Red "...he's also an old friend, happy now get off my neck," he ordered, but the smile on his face never faded.

Kamila who l had been observing Ivan feel into a trance before commenting lightly

"You miss your friends don't you...right now, that's the most genuine smile I've seen on your over the few weeks that we've been together."

Ivan looked back at her, his smile lessened Abit before shaking his head, "I miss alot of people but time does not allow me to linger in those feelings, the least I can do is make the most of the times I meet an old friend at those related to them."

"Anyway let's not get too much into my past we have alot to do

Leo are you as fast or faster than you were before?" Ivan asked to which Leo shook his corners.

"Hmm slightly slower...but only because you haven't flied for awhile," he interprated

" That's good enough, expand to fit three people, I'll set up the barrier just Incase," Ivan stated as his hand was cloaked by the gold green aura of life energy.

He waved his hand Rhythmically as waves of potent vitality leaked out of him as a barrier begin to forge itself all around Red Leo.

It hardened and toughened until it solidified, before vanishing from the vision of all humans.

Red Leo shook it's corners as it intently stared at Ivan. "What?! I had to use her power, I can't utilize any weapon or mana actively without forming a core and you know it."

"Tch I'm not arrogant, it's just that too many people wanted my weapons back then, I had to make a failsafe," Ivan countered after Leo shook his corners again.

The twins hopped on Leo as Ivan sat in its centre, it's corners jiggling from time to time. "Alright now, this goes for the two of you, I hope none of you are scared of heights or numbing speeds because I won't stop for no reason." He stayed before signalling Leo to fly off, the carpet zoomed upwards breaking past the army of leaves and branches before finally erupting out of the canopy.

The azure blue skies painted with stratus clouds, greeted them followed by a chilly breeze but before they could enjoy the view Leo dashed forward.

Awhile after their flight begun, Ivan begun explaining a few things about the phyrillic mountains to the twins.

"First things first, the mountains are a resting place and a trail so beware how you approach it.

There are 13 peaks on the phyrillic mountains, each one attuned with a specific truth of nature, that is the elements, the aspects of existence and the origins.

The elements as you know are Fire Water Earth Air Light and Darkness

The aspects of existence are the soul, body and core.

The origins are space, time, life and death.

These are the thirteen peaks of the phyrillic mountains. However to get to these peaks is a journey in its self, it takes time and effort.

Now besides the peaks there is the foot of the mountain that extends into a valley. The valley is called the Abhorrent drop, it's home to demonic beasts and miasmic air which corrodes mana.

That's where I'll be going, once I'm done I'll climb to the neutral ground of the 13 peaks and wait for you two to finish your climb."

The twins absorbed every word Ivan said as they drew closer and closer to the mountains.

" Within the trials, use everything you can as a whetstone, I want it to be that by the time your both done, there would be at the very least a minimal notable change, are we clear?" he asked

"Yes" "Yeah" The both replied.

"Good. Now there are a few things that I gave you both after we left the Varia Household, a mana crystal, Elemental stone and spatial rings, use those as you climb towards the peak, horde as many resources you deem useful wether plant or stone, hide or blood, those will determine the rewards I might give you," he revealed.

"Now then I'll give you a new Cultivation Manual, you'll use it once you've consolidated your current realm to its peak, use it to rewrite your base and reform your core and to form your nodes," he said s he tossed two manuals to them.

' Now that that's taken care of, I wonder what Varia left me, might as well take a look.'
