Boom boom! The creature continued to mercilessly pummel the exhausted Arthur, who lay on the ground taking all the beating.
His party members were unable to intervene as they were occupied with their fights. Joseph protected the girls, Rossa buffed the party, and Naro. manipulated water spells to protect Martha.
Boom! Another punch struck Arthur's abdomen, causing him to cough up a mouthful of blood. The creature he was fighting was too powerful for him. Being only a C-rank adventurer and a warrior, overcoming his opponent's rank was proving to be difficult.
While warriors had to enhance and strengthen their physical bodies, magicians only needed to enhance and upgrade their cores.
Boom! Another cough-inducing punch followed.
Arthur was determined to keep fighting for honour and blocked the next attack from the undead undeamacian, surprising the creature.
"Wow, you blocked my first attack," the undead creature smugly remarked.
Boom! Arthur swiftly moved at an incredibly fast speed and landed a punch on the creature's abdomen, his fist enveloped in a red aura. The impact disrupted the creature's balance.
Then, an endless session of punches began, but this time, not a single strike connected with the creature. Arthur fought with all his strength, taking a beating while refusing to back down.
Suddenly, a loud explosion echoed from far away. All the undead stopped their attacks, and even the creature stopped and gazed in the direction of the island.
Rossa, Alen, and the ship's captain turned their attention towards the source of the explosion but continued their attacks. Rossa's eyes widened, and her mouth formed an "O" shape. Alen, too, was shocked and said, "Another variable."
In the ship's control room, through the holographic window, he witnessed the spectacle unfolding on the island. The captain, despite being shocked, continued to control the ship. He saw a giant snake made entirely of bones soaring through the sky.
The snake glowed with a purple hue. As the snake reached its peak, it descended, captivating all the undead, who stood still in awe of its beauty. However, the truth was far from what appeared.
The zombies trembled in their places, sensing a powerful beast, unlike any predator they had encountered before.
Amidst the chaos, the creature managed to dodge Arthur's attack. Arthur couldn't dodge the creature's attack on the deck. The creature sighed, realizing "The Lord was fighting that fool and getting injured." He felt the need to intervene before things escalated further.
With a swift motion, he delivered a final attack, piercing Arthur's abdomen with his hand, and then disappeared from his position.
"Arthur!!!!" Rossa screamed. When she turned around, she noticed that the creature had grabbed Martha and jumped into the air before disappearing. "Martha!!!!" Joseph, Rossa, Naroyana, and the captain screamed in despair. But it was too late.
Meanwhile, Alen, who had been fighting the octopuses, finally got a chance to attack the creature. He was up against an A-rank beast. Channelling his power, he invoked
" Six Path Realm"
"The Fourth Realm: Asura Tantra. "
An ominous feeling surrounded Alen's sword as it turned black. He clicked it, invoking a dark slash of energy that travelled towards the octopus. The slash sliced through space itself, splitting the octopus into two horizontal parts.
However, as Alen witnessed the creature piercing his hand into Arthur's abdomen, it disappeared and reappeared in front of Martha. With a jump in the air, the creature disappears. Alen sighed Instead of becoming frustrated or angry, he simply uttered, "Another anomaly."
Boom! The ship shook as if struck by an attack spell cast by the captain. All the zombies stopped their movements as they disappeared from their view. The attack drained all the energy of the ship and annihilated all the zombies, preventing its use earlier.
----
Arthur's condition was critical, and Rossa rushed towards him, placing his head on her lap. He was still breathing, but his condition was concerning.
Alen quickly approached, taking out a potion from his pouch and emptying it into Arthur's mouth. Naroyana and Joseph also hurried over, snapping out of their stupor. Rossa cast a healing spell, causing multiple small, white glowing flower petals to materialize.
They began to mend Arthur's wounds, stopping the bleeding and repairing the pierced hole in his abdomen. However, the area where that healed skin turned purple appeared unsettling, resembling the transformation of zombie flesh. Arthur coughed, expelling some black substance from his mouth.
They began to understand the danger they were facing. They realized why nobody had returned alive from the Island of Fortune.
The general knowledge surrounding the island suggested it only had a few undead creatures, primarily located at the centre of the island is filled with skeletons, zombies, and hollows.
However, encountering an undead creature at the periphery of the island, right at the entry point, meant two things: either the rumours were false, or the island had changed.
All of the party members turned towards Alen, seeking answers. He was the one who possessed knowledge and plans ahead of time, always solving their problems. His calculating tendencies were terrifying, as he seemed capable of predicting every possibility even the weather or natural disasters.
They look to him, hoping for a solution once again. The expression he received from them was heartbreaking. Alen himself felt puzzled and shocked, but he remained confident and resolute. He instructed Rossa and Naroyana to patch up Arthur's wounds, and for Joseph to transport him to the nursery. Alen knew he had to talk with the captain.
Joseph, seeing Alen in a hurry, stopped him and assured him "It wasn't your fault, ", reminding him that he couldn't predict everything.
Alen remained silent, still and nodded before walking towards the cabin and control room. He shook his head, feeling the weight of the revelation. "You don't know anything," he quietly muttered.
"You don't even know that I have changed all of your life! " With that, he walked toward the control room.
Alen stood in front of the control room, taking a deep breath before reaching to open the door. However, to his surprise, the door opened on its own. In front of him stood the Captain, who had witnessed everything that had just occurred.
The Captain stared into Alen's eyes, trembling not in fear, but with a mixture of anger and helplessness.
He asked Alen a question, "You can see the future, right?"
