Chapter 46 - Fight

The scene was set as I charged into the entrance of the cave, the knight's broken bone fragments whirling around me, creating a mesmerizing spectacle. They resembled countless irregularly shaped butterflies, fluttering in every direction

Driven by instinct and honed from my relentless battles with skeletons, I dashed towards the undead knight. Trusting my gut, I blew my breath into the flute, manipulating the mana around me.

I had learned the movements and structure of barriers through Ailith, who had used them against me. I vividly remember the feeling of disarming her barrier.

In that moment, the memory of that incident flowed through my mind, as if I was reliving it, watching and feeling every detail. It was a powerful reminder of the past. Acting on pure instinct, I had created a barrier before, and now I attempted to recreate it once more. To my surprise, I succeeded.

A protective layer formed on my legs, hands, and chest, resembling luminous armour that glowed with a vibrant blue hue, illuminating my entire body and enhancing my muscles.

I could feel a surge of power coursing within me, and with a resounding boom, I emerged from the depths of the cave.

Before I stood a towering figure, the knight, with one hand broken and the other thrusting towards me, leaving behind trails of purple lightning. The sound of rushing air echoed, akin to a small whirlwind. Swoosh.

In mere moments, the knight's hands were merely a meter away from me,  my body reacted on instinct.

The next second, I found myself slipping between his legs, evading his attack with precision.

His hand collided with the ground, stirring up a cloud of dust and releasing fragments of bone that scattered like mushroom spores.

Seizing the opportunity, I aimed my assault at his left leg, feeling like a determined and challenging colossal foe.

The impact of my attack took a toll, cracking the bones of his foot and causing him to stumble. His balance was disrupted, and I swiftly capitalized on the opening presented before me.

His falling figure tore through the air, and I made my way towards his core, the weak spot in his abdomen.

As I ran, his body continued its descent from the skies. Unbeknownst to me, the layer of barriers surrounding my body amplified my reactions, enhancing my agility.

Alertness coursed through my senses, keeping me balanced and reducing the complications and struggles of utilizing my prosthetic leg.

In mid-air, closing in on his abdomen, my prosthetic leg transformed into a projectile, colliding with his abandonment, piercing through and revealing a rare glimpse of the cluster of skeletons protecting a giant purple core like brothers protecting their infant sibling from bandits.

In a swift motion, one of the skeletons from his endowment lunged toward me, moving with the speed of a car. It was about to collide with me, but I agilely evaded its attack, leaping out of harm's way.

That was land on growing and crushed

As the skeleton knight leapt towards me with astonishing speed, resembling a car hurtling through the air, it was mere moments away from a collision. However, I effortlessly jumped and evaded its attack, gracefully dodging the imminent impact.

With a resounding boom, the giant skeleton knight crashed onto the ground. His shattered hand began to reform, with other skeletons aligning themselves in perfect unity, reconstructing his hand flawlessly.

A wicked smile crept onto my face, imbuing me with a menacing presence. Through this encounter, I gained valuable knowledge about the knight, uncovering a weakness. It became apparent that he utilised the stored skeletons within his abdomen to regenerate his hand. Slowly, he attempted to stand up, but I swiftly manoeuvred, shattering his foot and shattering his knees

Attempting to directly destroy his core seemed like an insurmountable task in my current state. If only I possessed more knowledge of magic and various spells. Sadly, my knowledge was limited to three types of abilities.

First, the barriers I learned from Ailith, who had employed them against me multiple times. Although I understood the essence and formation of barriers, they alone were not enough.

Second, the telepathic spell proved useless, as they neither attacked nor granted any telepathic advantage.

Lastly, the illusions from my dreams, where I repeatedly witnessed a child being protected by his father's illusions. I had become familiar with the process of creating those illusions.

Deep in thought, I continued to play the flute pressed against my lips, using my right hand to support it, while the other deftly manipulated nodes. The resulting music resonated, intertwining with the power of the barrier.

This harmonious combination allowed me to move with lightning speed, efficiently evading the knight's attacks. The knight's hand swiftly moved towards me, but I effortlessly jumped above it, shattering it upon impact, scattering its remains.

His other hand materialized in front of me, Boom! It collided with my body, but the impact was minor, absorbed by the barrier.

The resounding clang of our collision echoed through the surroundings.

As the battle unfolded, lightning-fast movements became the norm. The towering knight cast a fearsome shadow, causing the ground to tremble beneath its heavy footsteps. My heart raced within my chest, fueled by adrenaline surging through my veins.

Locked in a fierce stare, I gazed into the chilling purple-flowing eyes of the titan, fully aware that this would be a true test of my strength and resilience.

With a deafening roar that seemed to shake the very heavens, the knight swung its colossal fist towards me with tremendous force.

Reacting swiftly leapt to the side, narrowly dodging the devastating blow. The sheer power behind the knight's attack created a rush of wind, causing strands of hair to whip around me, a visual reminder of the imminent danger surrounding me.

Once again, I shattered his hand, reducing it to scattered bones. Some of the fragmented skeletons swiftly reconvened, meticulously reforming his hand.

Determined to turn the tide of the battle, I formulated a plan. I would press on, forcing the skeletons within his abdomen to emerge and aid in the regeneration of his limbs.

This strategic move would temporarily leave his core vulnerable and unprotected.
