Chapter 48 - The cave departure and arrival

[Onver's PoV]

As I heard the screeching sound of stone carving on another stone, I moved my hand to write something at the entrance of the cave. Stepping back, I admired my art on the wall. It read "Onver's Museum."

Time seemed to blur since I woke up, perhaps hours or even days. When I regained consciousness, I found an army of skeletons kneeling in front of me, stretching as far as the eye could see. At that moment, they submitted to my command.

I soon discovered that these skeletons were suppressed and afraid of me. An invisible pressure emanated from my body, an ability I had recently discovered. It weighed down on them, exerting a dominating force.

To ease my boredom, I decided to create various things using the undead skeletons' bones. I crafted a bag, a sword, a spear, a chakra, a trident, and anything else I could fashion.

I had mulled over making a bow and arrow, but I lacked the proper materials to create a functional string.

The idea of extracting one of my muscles and weaving it into a rope crossed my mind, but I discarded it since my leg was still healing and not yet fully recovered.

With the string idea cast aside, I continued crafting other weapons and even made some flutes. However, once the novelty wore off, I turned my attention to decorating the cave.

Although the barrier that prevented the entry of any undead had been broken, it did not concern me much. I could command the skeletons to enter the cave and use them as workers to embellish its interior.

Once the decoration was complete, I attempted to test the fighting abilities of the skeletons. However, they refused to engage. Instead, they detached their heads and offered their cores to me willingly. It was as if they recognized my dominance and pledged their loyalty.

Leaving the cave behind, I embarked on a new chapter of my life. I gathered necessary equipment such as a sword and the spinal cord of some undead. A bag made of bone served to hold my flute, snacks, cores, and remaining large core fragments from the giant knight.

The primary reason for my departure from the cave was the insufficiency of skeleton cores to satisfy my hunger. I sought something more fulfilling.

In my spare time, I honed my mana manipulation skills and learned to create a more effective barrier. The time required to cast the barrier was significantly reduced, and I could use it with great efficiency.

I even attempted to replicate the illusions from my dreams. It took time and effort, but I succeeded in creating similar figures. These illusions acted as distractions and worked to confuse enemies. I continued to improve upon them.

Walking towards a carriage with wheels, I observed its bone structure. Resembling a small house, it had four wheels and an interior resembling a cosy hut.

Realizing that I didn't want to set up camp every time I needed to rest, I grabbed the chains attached to the carriage. It needed a name, and I contemplated several options such as "Candy House," "Hell Home," "Dreamy," and "Sharing Range." Among them, I settled on "Candy House" as the most suitable name.

Grabbing the chain, I began pulling the Candy House in an unknown direction. Well, not entirely unknown, as I was heading towards the black castle. Curiosity filled my mind as I wondered what secrets the castle held. Determined, I continued to pull the Candy House towards the castle.

This chapter of my journey brought forth new mysteries and challenges, and I eagerly anticipated uncovering its secrets.

Alen and the party members stood before the cave, mesmerized by the mysterious text written on its entrance. Alen hesitated, warning his companions not to enter suspiciously.

"What's with all the suspicion?"

. "Ever since we arrived on this island, you've been telling us that something is not right. What the hell is going on?"

The captain of the ship intervened, demanding an explanation. Alen glanced at him but remained silent, contemplating the course of action.

"Alright, everyone. Activate your protective barriers," Alen finally spoke up. He assigned tasks to each party member. "Rossa, purify the air around us as we enter the cave. Joseph, you take the lead. And don't worry, Naro, we'll make sure you're safe."

Naro nodded, a hint of doubt still visible on her face. It was difficult for her to feel at ease, considering what had transpired—Martha's kidnapping and Arthur's injuries. How could she trust that everything would be fine?
