"I did not become the CEO's mother! I never did, before I could become the CEO, the position was swiftly taken away from my mother! Your son is still your son!" Collins enlightened his mother releasing a frustrated sigh.
"What do you mean you didn't become the CEO? If you are not the CEO then who is? Stop pulling your mother's legs, it's not funny okay? Mama knows you became the new Group leader." Anna replied in disbelief at her son's work.
Anna knew how hard her son had worked and the things he did you become the CEO of the company. "Mom I am serious, I did not become the CEO of the company. Before I could be voted in by the board members then Avery appeared with Ryan by her side."
Collins muttered in anguish clicking his tongue angrily, he was furious and at the same time felt he was useless too for not being able to take over the position he had his eyes on for years. He had also been preparing himself too for taking over the position for years.
Anna was speechless, she felt words get stuck in her throat. She was beyond surprised, in truth she was shocked at the mention of Avery. Avery was dead and gone, she couldn't be alive and fight for the position. Anna shook her head, her son was just busy pulling her legs. She didn't trust him even a little bit.
"Stop kidding already. Avery is already dead, her body was buried too. Why are you pulling your mother's legs? How will I explain to my friends that after all the boasting my son didn't become the CEO of the company?"
"Won't I become a laughing stock among my peers? They will all talk about us behind our backs without remorse." Anna cried refusing to believe the turn of events, she wondered how a dead person could return to life from the dead.
"It seems Aunty is refusing to trust the fact that I am alive or I'd it because you are still in shock?" Aurora muttered stepping into the living room with Ryan walking behind her with his hands in his pockets.
"Or rather I think Mrs. Ezekiel wants you dead? Does she? So that her son can become the President of the company?" Ryan equally muttered expressionlessly walking behind Aurora.
Anna stood up in fright when she saw Aurora walk into the room she believed to be Avery, she stepped back uncomfortably in amazement. "You! You! You are alive? You didn't die from the accident?"
Anna muttered scared, she backed away softly the plate in her hand shivering. "Or maybe I am a ghost aunty, maybe I came back to hunt you and teach you a lesson for killing me?" Aurora said again with raised brows.
Anna shifted uncomfortably at Aurora's words. Collins stood up furious staring at the two and Wondering what they were doing there, he glared fiercely at Ryan. The man who was responsible for taking his position away from him.
"What are you both doing here? You are not welcome here Ryan, this is not your mansion! You can't just walk in here and start talking rubbish about my mother without second thoughts." Collins remarked stepping closer to the two, he loosened the tie on his neck properly.
"You also seem to forget that this isn't your house too. This mansion belongs to the Patriarch, I am free to work in here as I like. You have no choice but to see me walk in here freely."
"Or maybe are you afraid? Are you afraid that your secrets will be exposed once I enter the mansion? Are you hiding something so desperately?" Ryan questioned his gaze piercing into Collins.
Collins coughed and shifted back uncomfortably as his mother did. "What are you talking about? You have the god's to come here even after what you did at the shareholder's meeting?"
"Do you think you are superior just because you hold the railings of the Country? You are just the President of your group and not our lives. You are not even a part of our family, or even related to us." Collins muttered trying to hide his guilt and fear.
"That settles it then. As far as I can become a member of the family then I can walk into the mansion, right? Then you are in for some good news, I would like to inform you that I would be getting married to your cousin soon." Ryan remarked with a mocking smile.
"You heard right. He will soon become a member of this family, not only will he become a member but you will also have to call him brother-in-law and welcome him into the house from now onwards." Aurora backed up Ryan's words with a smile on her face, her hand clenched silently at her side.
