Beau sighed and said to Marigold, "I-I think y-you l-look… Okay." Marigold looked down, saying, "Thanks, Beau." Marigold held her arm with one hand and gripped her dress with the other. Beau looked at her and sighed. "My boy, where are you," a man's voice called. Nathaniel walked into Marigold's room, saying, "Ah, there you are. I've been looking all over for you. We have business to take care of." Nathaniel glanced over at Marigold, seeing her all dressed up, and said, "Oh, aren't you a sight for sore eyes, Marigold. My boy, she's pretty, isn't she?" Beau swallowed his breath and said, "S-She's o-okay, I-I mean s-she l-looks okay." Nathaniel said, "Looks okay? She's a gem! How do you not see it? She looks beautiful! My boy, what has gotten into you? How can you say she just looks okay? You…" Angela interrupted Nathaniel, saying, "You know what, why don't we give Beau some privacy with his wife, huh? Me and Marigold made some pasta for you to try my love, so why don't we go to the kitchen and maybe Carls can warm it up for us." Carls nodded and Nathaniel walked over to Angela, grabbed her hands, and said, "I would love to taste some of your amazing cooking, my queen. It's been so long since I've had one of your amazing meals." Angela smiled while mumbling, "Don't bet on this one being a good meal." Nathaniel said, "Oh nonsense. You make the best food. Whatever your beautiful hands touch always becomes a tasty masterpiece." Angela touched Nathaniel's face, saying, "You're always so kind to me. I love you." Nathaniel kissed her (Angela) and said, "I love you too, my queen." Angela said, "There you go distracting me again Nathaniel, let's give Beau and Marigold some privacy please." Angela grabbed Nathaniel's arm, and Nathaniel, Angela, and Carls left to the kitchen, closing the door behind them.
Beau rubbed the back of his head (with his hand), saying, "Finally, we're alone." He looked at Marigold, and she said, "You should've gone with them." Beau said, "W-Why would I do that?" She looked at him and said, "To give me time to change. So I don't look so ridiculous." Beau said, "But you…" and she interrupted him saying, "Look I know it was ridiculous of me to put this dress on thinking it was going to somehow impress you and put a smile on your face. Okay, I get it. I don't look pretty in the dress, I just look okay. I get why you wouldn't want to compliment me in the first place I've been rude and nasty towards you without even giving you a chance to explain yourself or even listening to your side of the story. So why would I even get complimented from you. You're probably so confused… Look, you don't have to stay to make me feel better. You can just go, there's no hard feelings. I just… I just thought you would like to see me in the dress but… I get it now… I don't look good and you don't have to say it…" He said, "Marigold, that's not what…" She interrupted him once more saying, "Look you don't have to explain yourself. You don't have to say anything to me. You already made your point clear. You like the dress and I look okay in it. I'm going to change out of it and…" Beau grabbed her, interrupting her, pulling her close to him, and making her lose her train of thought. She looked him in his eyes while he looked back in hers. Her cheeks began turning red, and he thought, 'I really just grabbed her, and she's not yelling at me. I have to say something but I don't know what to say to her. She's so beautiful, so stunning. I just lose focus when I see her. I have to tell her how I feel.' She said, "Beau, why did you just grab me," and he answered, "I'm sorry for grabbing you and interrupting you, but you wouldn't let me speak. You were putting words in my mouth." She said, "Words that you already said to me. You told me I looked 'okay,' and you complimented the dress more than you complimented me." Beau said, "I'm sorry, you just… Marigold, I think the dress is beautiful and you…. You look… You look okay in the dress." She looked away from Beau and pushed his chest while saying, "Thanks for emphasizing what you've already said to me. I know you think I look okay. You don't have to keep putting emphasis on it, I get it." He said, "No, that's not what I mean. I…" She pushed down on his arms, making him let her go and said, "I don't know what you want me to think or say to you. You've already told me what you needed to say. What more do you want from me, Beau?" His face began turning red while he said, "I-I, I want… I…" She said, "Just get out and don't touch me again. I get it. You made your feelings about me loud and clear!" He sighed and said, "UGH, you're so difficult and the most confusing woman I've ever met!" She said, "I'm confusing? You're the one sending me mixed messages. First, you say I look okay, then you say that's not what you meant, and then when I ask you what you meant, you tell me I look okay again. What do you want me to say? How else am I supposed to think other than you don't have feelings for me?!" He looked at her, saying, "What are you talking about? I have feelings for you." She said, "Oh I can tell by the way you're complimenting the dress and telling me I look 'Okay,' and the thing is Beau I don't have a problem with you not having feelings for me or even not complimenting me. I get it. Things are awkward, but the fact you keep sending me mixed messages. What do you want from me?" Beau said, "But Marigold, I do have feelings for you..." She said, "Don't pretend Beau… Look, I know you do a lot for me, most likely out of pity and I haven't been the easiest to get along with, I know I've been difficult. I understand why you don't like me or don't have feelings for me, but I…" He grabbed her again, interrupting her, and said, "How can you say that? You're putting words in my mouth that I've never once said. I never said I didn't have feelings for you, and I never said I didn't like you. The truth is you drive me crazy. I can't focus around you… I'm trying to tell you how I feel, and my tongue gets tied up, and I don't know what to say. The fact of the matter is I don't just think you look okay, I think, I think, I think…" She interrupted him, saying, "I know, you think I look okay." Beau sighed while thinking, 'Ugh, I keep messing up. Why can't I just tell her how I feel? It's so hard to get the courage to talk to her and tell her how beautiful she is. Especially when she's all dolled up like this. She makes me insane for her. I can't put together words to tell her how I'm feeling.' She looked away from him, saying, "You keep grabbing me just to tell me what I already know. Honestly Beau, I don't understand you." Beau took a deep breath, staring into her eyes, thinking, 'I have to tell her what I think,' and said, " Marigold, I think you look stunning. You are the most beautiful woman in the world, and it makes me nervous… You make me nervous, Marigold." She said, "I make you, the most eligible bachelor in the country, nervous?" He said, "You sound surprised by that?" She said, "Because I am. You can have any girl in the country, any girl in the world. From beautiful models to rich women. Yet I'm the one who makes you nervous. The girl who takes care of her father and who you almost hit on the road. You are Beau Bax, the richest man in the country, the hottest bachelor there is. I'm Marigold Kelp, the girl who rejected college scholarships to take care of her father." He smiled, saying, "And yet none of those models and women even compare to you. You put them all to shame just with your crystal blue eyes. Not to mention you're funny, kind, down to earth, and probably the most out of the box woman I have ever met. Also, I'm not a bachelor anymore, I'm your husband, and I wouldn't want it any other way." Marigold looked down, saying, "Careful Beau, some may say you're in love." He chuckled, saying, "Is that a bad thing?" She said, "It wouldn't be if you actually knew me, but you don't. Am I to believe that you fell in love with me at first sight? Goodness Mr.Bax Jr. if you're going to be in love with me, at least take me out on a date first." He smiled, saying, "Alright, then why don't we go out on a date?" She chuckled and said, "A date? You want to go out on a date with me?" He grabbed her hands, saying, "Yes, why not? We've been married for over a month now, and we've never actually had pleasant alone time together. It would be nice to take you out somewhere, where we can enjoy each other's company and really get to know each other." She said, "So you're serious? You actually want to take me out on a real date?" He said, "Why do you sound so shocked by that? We are married after all. Why wouldn't I want to take my wife out on a date? Show my wife a good time." She looked down, saying, "Because I was so rude and nasty towards you. I blamed you for things that you told me you had no part in. I would hear none of your side of the story because I was so angry at you. I wouldn't listen to you or even let you get a word in. I just kept yelling at you about everything even when you tried to help me… So yes it surprises me when you say you want to do things with me or that you want to actually spend time with me by yourself after everything." He said, "Hey, it's okay. I understand that you were upset because you got taken away from the home you once knew without warning. You had to deal with the fact that your own father sold you on top of dealing with the abuse Trad did to you. You had a rush of different emotions and never got the time to actually process them and process what happened to you. I'm just happy that you're allowing me to have the chance to explain myself to you. I'm happy that you even want to give me a chance, that is if you actually want to go on a date with me." She smiled at him and said, "I will go on a date with you if you grant me this one request." He said, "Anything you want, whatever the request you have, I'll do it. As long as it's not crazy." She chuckled, saying, "You would think I had a crazy request… The only thing I ask is that if we go on a date, we do it in a secluded area. I don't want to be around a lot of people, I just want to spend time with you." He said, "Well, that's an easy request, and I know just the restaurant to take to you. It's fancy and private. We'll be able to have dinner in peace." She said, "Okay, I'll just change so we can go." He said, "Change why? You look stunning as is. Your outfit is perfect for a fancy restaurant." She smiled, saying, "You think so?" He replied, "I know so. You look perfect. Now, princess, let's go."
