Yolanda turned her head and asked Aunt Kennedy, "Is it because I'm not well-behaved that my mom doesn't want me?"
Her mouth corners drooped.
"No, that's not it."
Aunt Kennedy was about to comfort her, but then she saw blood dripping from the little girl's right nostril. Panicked, she picked her up, "Yolanda..."
There was a commotion in the quiet hallway.
Mandy Carter walked out, puzzled, "What's going on over there?"
Children are more curious than adults. Sienna followed Mandy, having jumped straight out of bed, not even bothering to put on her shoes, so her feet were bare.
Spencer Sullivan held Sienna's slippers at the door and asked her to put them on, "Put on your shoes."
A few nurses and doctors wheeled a stretcher past their door, on which a child was lying.
Spencer Sullivan only glanced briefly at the scene, focusing on helping Sienna with her shoes.
Sienna suddenly clutched Spencer Sullivan's arm, "Dad, it looks like that mean kid."
