Master By Mistake
Ethan Weils had never been anything. He was a college dropout-turned-convenience store clerk who was perfectly happy with his uneventful existence. Bills to pay? Sure. Dreams to chase? Not really. His friends usually called him a slacker, but he liked the term "minimalist."
His life finally came to an abrupt and unwarranted end one extremely lazy night, slouched in his chair, with instant noodles in hand. A stray lightning strike, a wrong metal fork, and one bowl of instant ramen decided the uneventful ending of his life.
When he awoke, it wasn't to pearly gates or fire and brimstone, but to a worn-out village that looked like it came straight out of those cultivation novels he skimmed through. Everything seemed so different, from the towering mountains to the glowing plants, to weirdly dressed people swinging swords around and riding on clouds.
Then came the voice.
[Congratulations, Host. You have been chosen to inherit the Lazy Prodigy System. Mission: construct a school. Reward: survival.]
"What? A school?"; Ethan had jeered. "Do I look like some sort of teacher to you?"
Then, the system's answer was ironic: [Fail, and your existence will be deleted.]
And so, the weird life of Ethan started. With a system that seemed determined to make him a teacher, there was nothing he could do but follow. Little did he know, though, all the students he would later gather would change not just his life but the whole world.
