She immediately ducked, avoiding the incoming attack from the assassin. She rolled over from the side, enough for her to escape the blade from plunging deep into her skin.
Seeing how fast her reflexes were, the assassin didn't stop attacking her. He once again raised his sword, ready to thrust it inside her body. Even though the assassin was heavily covered from head to toe, Rachelle could still see how he was smiling at her, like a blood-crazed demon ready to devour her.
She once again turned her body to the other side, rolling on the floor while the assassin's sword thrust hard on the floor, making his weapon stuck. She smirked, seeing this as an opportunity, she launched an attack, extending her leg to kick the man, making him lose his balance.
The assassin ended up stumbling on the floor after a hard hit on his stomach, didn't expect that she would fight back besides looking so damn frail. Meanwhile, Rachelle was able to get back on her feet, ready to launch another attack at the man.
"You fucking bitch!" He shouted, lunged at her with open arms and ready to tackle her to the ground but Rachelle was fast enough to dodge his open arms and instead, dropped down, swept the man's feet using her leg in a fast move, making him fall on the floor once again.
The loud thud echoed across the room while she started to breathe heavily. She had forgotten that this lady is damn weak and frail! She was already tired after a couple of attacks towards the assailant.
The assassin grew even more resentful towards her, lashing out as he once again ran towards her direction, trying to lay his hand on her by punching her but Rachelle avoided the attack swiftly by pivoting her body at a fast pace, launching her leg at his back to make a joke of him, falling once again on the floor.
Her attack wasn't that powerful but because of the man charging at her like a madman, she was able to bully him by making him dive on the ground multiple times. She couldn't help but mock the man who grumbled as his body hit the solid ground, groaning in pain.
She couldn't find the time to pull out the sword from her finger and eventually forgot about it after seeing the knife not so far away from her position.
Rachelle turned her back and decided to pull the knife that had sank on the floor. She tried to pull it to gain the upper hand but unfortunately, the man was able to wrap his arm around her neck, choking her while his other hand wrapped around her waist, trying to stop her from resisting.
It took her by surprise as she tried to retaliate with the man's action, wriggling and trying to forcefully pull his arm around her neck but it was hard.
Suddenly, as she was trying to resist the man, an idea popped into her head.
She used her feet to block the man's calf, she then immediately pushed herself to walk backwards, making the man once again fall on the ground while her body rested on top of him, still tied because of his arm.
Yet the strength applied on her neck has been long gone, that's when she stood up immediately, releasing the ring from her finger to finally unleash the sword that she took from the cathedral.
As the ring unwrapped itself from her finger, a light appeared surrounding it, blinding their eyes as it fully transformed into a sword by the time the light vanished, revealing the sword on her hand.
The man who was blinded by the light couldn't react fast, unlike Rachelle who stomped her foot on his chest, making him cough hard. As his eyes adjusted from the blinding light, it was already too late for him to react.
Holding the sword with the edge pointed straight into his neck, she thrust the sword at a swift pace, however, it didn't work as the assassin used both of his hands to stop Rachelle's strength as she tried to plunge it deep and kill him.
The assassin tried so hard to keep the edge away from his neck. He could feel the sharp edge on his skin, blood had started to drip from his hands as he was able to stop her from killing him.
He didn't expect that the lady would gain additional strength when she couldn't even fight well earlier, which took him by surprise. He couldn't even lift the sword back up, nor try to remove her foot from pressing into his chest.
The lady had this emotion where she felt no guilt nor remorse about intending to cut off a man's life. She does not show any more emotions aside from the desire to kill the assassin which makes him feel very terrified.
She was not like other women, women don't even lift swords! They don't even know how to defend themselves during an attack! But this lady, there's something in her that made him tremble in fear.
The strength she applied was getting too hard to block anymore. He tried to fight, yet his hands were already injured wanted to give up already. He shouted in agony as his life flashed in his eyes.
Alas and alack! He was too occupied by the sword. He caught a glimpse of the lady's face and was shocked to see her emotion, only by then that Rachelle was able to kill the assassin as he had turned his guard down, forgetting the fact that he was fighting for his life.
Blood splurged as the sword tasted blood for the first time, cutting the man's neck with a dup cut as the sword managed to shove its way down to the floor.
The man's blood scattered through the floor, her dress, and some in her face. Yet it didn't change how cold she was as she stared at the lifeless body beneath her. She used the sword as her cane, panting heavily after a fight with someone else.
Her eyes closed, trying to calm her blood rushing everywhere from the excitement. There was no guilt at all, only satisfaction for saving her own life.
After everything had calmed down, she thought of the sword reverting back to becoming a ring. Not even seconds had passed and the sword had turned into a ring that she immediately wore on her finger before kneeling on the door to unmask the man and look for any clues.
Who would have thought that something like this might happen to her? Someone had sent her an assassin to kill her while she was sleeping. Good thing she has great perception and observation that made her notice that something was already off.
As she unmasks the man, she starts to look for another clue that might help her find the man's identity. But all she could find was a piece of paper, containing her information, her image, and even the price of her head.
"Really? Did I cost a thousand gold only? What the hell." She said in disbelief, frowning over the cost of her head. Out of all the things, the gold has upset her rather than finding the right man or someone who sent the assassin to kill her.
"Oh Nah, this is some kind of joke. I can't believe I'm that cheap—" Before she could finish her words, she heard someone thud on the floor, just outside her door that was slightly open.
Her face distorted as she couldn't help but fear. It's not that she's scared that someone has found out that she can kill a person, but rather she fears that the person who saw her just right now has seen her use the Goddess sword.
She slowly went to the door as she managed to pull out the knife on the ground. As she counted from one to three, she opened the door wide open, just to see no one on the floor. She groaned, oh shit! She's smelling another trouble!
"Fuck this." She cussed and closed the door slowly so as to not cause any sound. She then wiped the blood on her face as she went towards her bed and pulled the rope beside it, requesting Olivia's aid.
Apparently, she can't carry this big man alone after searching for evidence of the man's identity. She also needs to brace herself from further assassins that might happen in the future.
"I really need to learn how to use a sword." She mumbled to herself while staring at the lifeless body on the ground. She can't keep this shit without any proper training and body preparation.
"Why are you even so weak, Felicia." She mumbled once again, scolding the body. She was already breathing heavily earlier just by avoiding a few attacks from the assassin. This woman really is weak.
Yet the family claimed that Helena was weaker than her. This damn family neglected Felicia, she really wanted to punch everyone in the gut for doing it.
A knock disturbed her from thinking too much, making her shudder suddenly. "Come in." She invited someone without even trying to hide the body on the floor.
As Olivia entered the room, she bowed her head towards her master before glancing at the dead body right in front of her. At first, she blinked hard, thinking her mind must have played some prank but as she looked at her master holding a knife while being bloody, she shrieked in fear.
But just as she was about to yell hard after seeing a damn body on the ground, Rachelle had already approached her, using her hand to block her mouth from further shouting that would wake everyone up.
It was a bad idea calling for her.
