And like many times before, the two lovers went to watch the moon.
And they went to watch the moon.
And once again… they went to watch the moon..
Screams and sobbing, laughter and joy. Fate is impartial, it chooses no sides. And so there the god was, laying down on the grass, staring at the moon in all it's glory.
"My love, I'm afraid I lied to you… haa, I truly embody that of a coward, perhaps it was a mistake for us to fall in love.." The god said as their insides were torn.
The god's lover could no longer speak, it was now but an abomination without reason. And that abomination was eating the god alive. "Ahh, it seems that I too am being affected by the madness." The god sighed, "Though I do not regret my choices, I do regret that I may not be able to see you again."
The god weakly lifted their hand, trying to feel the warmth of their lover once more. It's skin was slimy yet dry, and it was as if there was a mouth that would devour anything that touched it.
The god's hand was eaten.
And finally they disappeared.
The abomination silently looked at the empty spot, with the fading warmth of the god. And it wept. I wept for years as it cursed itself.
"I love you, but why must I be this way?" The abomination wept, it was it's last fight against the madness that tore through it's soul. "Perhaps if we had never fallen in love…"
As the abomination wept at the loss of it's lover. The council of gods now had a dilemma on their hands. "Great One, the god of respite is dead. And the god of emotion has gone mad. I fear that soon we will go mad as well, we cannot let this go on any longer!" The god of children exclaimed.
The Great One looked down at the god of children from their throne. Their many eye's narrowed.
"It seems that fate has cursed us, with lack of respite, and emotions that will drive us crazy. There is nothing for us to do." The Great one said calmly.
