"Chairman, are there any available job for him?"
Both Clark and me are currently facing the Chairman right now.
He was shocked to see his former soldier coming here as an awakened but he immediately welcomed him.
"Oh, do you want to work here? It's fine but I think you will gain more money being a professional Hunter and join a guild than working here. Hunter association doesn't collect hunters after all since all hunters in all guild are all under this association and we can deploy them any moment." The Chairman explains.
"It's fine, I want to work as body guard or assistant for Archie if possible." Clark said and the Chairman give me a look. Asking why is he like that.
I just shrugged my shoulders at him.
"Body guard and personal assistant is something that Archie should decide on his own since those types of job are not suppose to exist in a public servant unless Archie pay for your salary on his own. The only job that I could give you that still look over at Archie is Secretary. We at Hunter Association could pay you for that job. But take a look at the job list first and then decide on what you want later on."
Chairman signaled to his secretary and the secretary immediately handed him the list of vacancy in the Hunter Association.
"Take your time in choosing and Ms. Secretary, lead my guy to the mana measuring device to get his rank, make him priority. I want to know his rank in the next hour. Clark go with her, she will lead you there."
Clark stood up and saluted to the Chairman before leaving the place and follow Chairman's secretary.
"Tell me what's going on with you and that Clark? How about our agreement?"
Chairman asks and I take a glance at Charlie who was listening to us and the Chairman immediately understand what I mean.
"What is your agreement? I wanna know." Charlie ask, looking at me like I did something wrong.
Why can't this useless one just shut his mouth up?
"It's something that doesn't concern you. It is only between me and your dad."
"We have confidentiality agreement so others are not allowed to know. Why don't you just do what I ask you to do? Your job is not that hard. Now get out here, we have something to talk in private."
Charlie glared at me before leaving.
Why is he like that? It's not like I did something wrong to him. Infact I should be the one doing that. I guess I get used seeing his face now and not be bothered by it anymore. But still I won't accept that he will treat me like that.
"Now tell me. What's with you and Clark? I thought things were going on between you and my son David?"
Mr. Soreso really has a good ability to read moods and people. It's very hard to escape his perception.
"Nothing, there is nothing between me and Clark. As far as I remember he only wants to work with me until hunters rule and regulations has been finalize. He doesn't want to work as pioneer hunter. The same goes for me and David as well. We are just friends."
I smiled at Chairman but he look at me like Im some kind of joke.
"My son David is lively right now compared before. He doesn't look away from you. And he doesn't question me nor refuse my request to him that involves you. His eyes smiles everytime you two talk. I saw it so don't deny it."
Is David really looking at me like that? Why can't I see it myself? I only saw his sweet side but I never saw him like what the Chairman said.
"I will allow my son to be like that if it is you but please don't do something that might hurt him. I want the way he is now compared before."
He really deeply cared to his eldest son even though he's not showing it appropriately.
"I can't promise anything yet. But I'll do my best to avoid hurting him if what you said is really true."
The Chairman just nodded at my words.
"Let's now talk about business. What I have here are the countries that sent their requests for your ability to restore cities. Starting tomorrow, they will send their people here to talk to you and negotiate. Make use of this list and try to make a schedule to meet them."
I see, I guess other nations are already showing interest in my ability. Finally, my plan is coming into fruition.
"I am not available tomorrow because I'll participate in the Marinduque's reclamation and Lich subjugation. I will schedule my self at meeting them the following day."
"Although that was suppose to be my job, but I cannot handle meeting them right now because of my tight schedule. The best that I could do for you right now is to only provide you with everything you need. Since I'm not doing what I'm suppose to do, I'll only take 10% commission this time. Just tell me if you need man power or anything, I will give it to you immediately."
He then handed me a paper sheet that contains a list of countries that wants to talk to me. I just skim the entire list.
"It's fine Chairman. I completely understand your situation. But I wanted to ask, are there no other awakened out there that could do the same thing as me?" I ask.
"There are actually mages that could do similar thing like you. There is a class S mage in Canada that restored an entire building using her magic. But so far, no one could do it in a scale that you can. According to the information that I received, that girl needs and entire blue print of the building to restore in piece by piece. It doesn't seems like she is using Time Magic like you to restore things."
I look at my magic archive and look for magic that fits Chairman's description and I found it immediately.
It's earth manipulation magic. She is using it to force metal, cements and other things to bind themselves together pieces per pieces until the broken object is restored. In her case an entire building.
"I think she is using earth magic to restore things. Unlike me who returned cities back to their former state by turning back the time, in her case she needs to rebuild the entire infrastructure on her own and copy the former design that's why she needs blueprints and probably images to perfectly replicate the infrastructure in their former state." I explained.
"I see, that's how both of you differ aside from the scale. Anyway do you think you'll be fine dealing with the Marinduque issue tomorrow?"
The Chairman look at me with worried eyes. It seems like he genuinely care about my safety.
Actually as we are right now, I don't think that the Chairman still needs me to achieve his goals. He already have David with him and his support alone solidifies Mr. Soreso's place in the Hunter associates.
Even if he only have Charlie, who was A rank but actually closer to S-class, he would probably still be able to keep his position.
So I don't think he needs to worry about my safety when his goals is still achievable in his hands without me. But then again we bonded together so maybe he genuinely doesn't want me to be in dangerous scenario.
"Don't worry, I am much more dangerous than that Lich. If not for the fact that I'm tired when I attack it before, I would probably manage to subjugate it on my own." I confidently said.
"I will believe your words. If you deemed it dangerous, you can ask my sons for help. I'll make them standby incase of any emergency."
I nodded at the Chairman.
"I will keep your words at mind. I'll go to my office now. I still have work to do." I said and waived at the Chairman before leaving.
I then proceeded to my office and begun drawing a magic formation on a piece of bond paper.
This is a contract that will be replicated and send on every guild that starts to establish themselves.
I also added that contract can be nulled by hunter association if the contract written violates law or deemed that it could exploit people.
We have a department here that deals with contracts and analyze it's content to ensure fairness.
Actually the Hunter association will inspect the contracts that the Guilds are trying to give to their members. Only after being approve that they can use it.
After I made it I immediately proceed in creating instructions on how to make common items from monsters. As well as basic instructions on how to create basic potions.
I don't think I could personally train those people today because I have an appointment meeting later but that doesn't mean that I couldn't guide them. Since common weapon are easy to make, I feel like people will be able to make it by only having a simple written guide.
