"I'm awakened as well and I could feel that you are more of a threat than the dungeon over there so I was thinking that you probably did a lot more than what has been said." He said to me.
I could feel that he really is an awakened person but so far he is also the weakest that I've encountered.
He will die immediately if he where to face the types of monsters that I've encountered so far.
"You have been awakened as well? What powers do you have?" Suddenly the Lieutenant asks.
"I'm a weak one. I have no proper skills like the others, the only thing that I could do is detect if the others around me is an awakened or not." He replied.
"But all awakened could do that though."
"That's why I called myself weak."
"Ehmm... I sense the presence of awakened people here. Are they the one who would deal with this gate if it opened?" I inquired.
"Yes they are." He replied as we walk to where the gate is.
"There are only 5 of them and they are not that strong either. Although the gate is probably the hardest among the easiest class of the dungeon, the dungeon does still produce a number of monsters. It's better to increase the numbers of awakened to at least 15 if they are on that level inorder to ensure the defeat of the dungeon boss."
"Oh, so this one is within the easy class? That's good to hear." Lieutenant said.
"Can you help us? Awakened are actually hard to find. We already sent a request for awakened people in other cities but they are still yet to arrive. Hopefully they'll arrive before this one opens."
I look at the gate then look at Lieutenant. It seems like he is fine with whatever choice I made. Which actually make sense, if I close the gate here then he doesn't need to worry about the safety of his family.
"I'll just put up the barrier. I'm sure that the barrier will be able to hold off even if the dungeon boss get out by himself. I'm actually very tired right now and I think I needed to take a rest. If the monsters inside the gate are still present tomorrow then I'll personally came here to dispose them and close the gate." I replied.
"Actually he's been going all over the mindanao, wiping out strong monsters and closing gate 1 after another. He's not in his best condition now after all of that so please understand his situation."
The Lieutenant tried to insist my achievement. I think he's already starting his moves to make me a big shot so he could get more recognition later on as well in using my name.
"Oh, are you with the team of strong awakened who where tasked to close all the strong gates in the mindanao?"
He ask and I juts nodded.
"Oh I see I see, You really did a lot today and you did it very well. I could now understand why you where very tired then. Where's the paint?"
When he said that he looks around and we saw one of the soldiers running towards us while holding a can of paint.
"Why are you so slow?" He then asks his subordinate.
"Sorry sir. There's no paint everywhere, I needed to ask a civilian to lend us some." He replied while straightening his back.
"Ok, get back to your position now."
"Sir, yes sir." The soldier saluted before leaving.
"Here's your request. What are you planning to do with it anyway." He asks but the Lieutenant is the one to reply.
"Actually he needs to draw a magic circle on the ground inorder for the barrier to maintain it self even if he's not around."
I then draw the magic circle on the ground while the two are continuing to talk.
"Oh, I see. The world really is changing now. Did you think the world will end anytime Lieutenant Soreso?"
"I don't want to think about it but the possibility of that happening is not zero. Hopefully world ending scenario will not happened."
"I really couldn't believe why God made this happened. Even in normal days we already have a lot to deal with and he even added this to us."
"Don't blame it to God, maybe he's not the one responsible for the monsters. Maybe he's the one who's responsible for the awakening of people."
Do god really exist? Does people awakening has to do with him? I really don't know but it's not impossible to think that it isn't. After all it's impossible for anyone to just give us powers out of nowhere unless you are a god.
I finished drawing the magic circle and then begun chanting.
--Light Barrier--
A dome of light suddenly cover the entire place, it's not as big like on Esperanza but the Barrier could still be considered big.
"So this is how it look like in personal." The General said.
"I modified the barrier so any monsters and attacks from them in the inside will not be able to pass through the outside. However attacks from the outside will be able to enter the inside. I think it's already enough with this."
I said. I walk out of the magic circle and proceed to Mr. Soreso's back.
"I think our job here is finish. We'll get going now. I'll take this paint also, we'll be needing it for things like this."
Lieutenant bid his farewell and we walk to return where the chopper was.
"I see, thank you for the barrier."
I look back and wave at him. I'm really tired right now. I feel like my brain is about to shut down.
It seems like my brain is not that accustomed yet in continuously manipulating mana. I do think earlier that I was just physiologically tired but it seems to be further from the truth.
The chopper flew off and I remain silent the whole time.
"You are so silent, is something going on?" Lieutenant asks.
"I think my brain is about to shut down any moment. I'm really tired from casting spells continuously. My body feels like it reaching it's limits." I replied.
"You should sleep here, I'll just wake you after we arrive at my home. Also you can rest there as much as you need. I'll just contact your parents and told them your situation."
I then shake my head.
"I'll take your offer at resting in your place but I shouldn't sleep here in the helicopter, if you wake me up after we arrive there, I surely experience severe headache from forcefully waking up."
"Ok, then just sleep here. You already put a barrier in the nearest gate anyway so everything should be fine now. I'll just carry you to your room in our arrival so you wouldn't have to wake up."
"I think It's better if I erect a barrier in your manor. I don't want to sleep without it knowing that there is a dungeon gate nearby."
"I thought the barrier will prevent them though and it's strong enough to withstand attacks from the dungeon boss?"
"It does but I'm only referring to the strength of the boss base on the mana it emitted from the gate. We won't know how strong it really is unless we saw it in itself."
"I get it now. My house is nearby already so you'll be able to sleep soon." He assured me and I just nodded.
Few minutes later we landed on a green field and infront or us is a huge house.
After our landing suddenly a group of female people come towards us to check who we are and there are even armed personel among the group.
"Darling you came back safe." Suddenly a middle age woman came hugging the Lieutenant.
"Dad how's things going on? Are we leaving this place?"
A tall and handsome guy with bulging muscles ask the Lieutenant. He actually looks like someone that I know of. I'm starting to have a bad feeling about this.
"Everyone I'm fine and you won't have to leave this place. By the way I'll introduce you to someone. Archie come here." He called me out so I walk towards them.
Everyone's faces where in shocked upon seeing me.
They then begun to whisper to each other.
'I didn't know that the Lieutenant has illegitimate child.'
'Will he let him stay here?'
Upon hearing the people who I could guess as a maids I immediately reacted.
"Hello and Good evening, Sorry for the intrusion. And I like to address some misunderstanding as well, I am not his illegitimate child. I have mother and father with exact DNA as me so you have nothing to worry about."
After I said that everyone's faces turns red.
"What the hell were you thinking? I didn't have any other woman after I marry you so how could I have an illegitimate child?" The Lieutenant ask her wife who was the one that is most shocked among everyone after seeing me.
"Yes, after you marry me. But that's not the case when we are still not. So I thought he is your son from one of your girls back in the day."
"Oh, this is interesting Lieutenant. Hahaha" I said to lighten up the mood.
"Who is it? You never brought a young person here before. So you couldn't blame us if we think that he is your child."
"I said he's not. He's an awakened individual who closed the gate in Bayugan City and saved my man as well. He will take some rest here for tonight so treat him well. He will perform some magic here for a moment and after that please bring him to our guess room David." He said and I look at the Lieutenant and smiled. I even wink at him.
He just rolled his eyes up to me.
It seems like he's already doing what he can do to make me a member of his family.
"Perform some magic? Can we see it?" The David guy ask and the Lieutenant nodded.
"By the way where is your brother and sister? Why are you still awake?" The Lieutenant asks.
"They are sleeping, Mom couldn't sleep and was always looking for news in Bayugan City so I stayed up with her."
He then look at me closely and begun to think deeply.
"Now that I remember it. I feel like I saw you in the news today. Aren't you the one that erected a huge barrier in Ezperanza so no monsters could attack the refugee?"
"Oh, the one that could teleport everywhere and was rumoured to go from different gates to close it?" The mother asks.
"Yes, he is that person. He is extremely strong and was able to close gate that has strong monsters all over the mindanao, so don't be rude to him or we will all die immediately."
"I'm not that kind of person Lieutenant. And please don't listen to the news, they are actually being exaggerated."
"Huh? What are you saying? The news is actually lacking information regarding your achievements. They even think that the Bayugan City hasn't been destroyed. They didn't know that you repair the whole city with you magic."
Everyone's eyes look at me with adoration. They are literally sparkling.
"It's not true..." I said but it seems like no one believes me.
"By the way give me that camera that contains your fight in the dungeon.I'll analyze it and give the details to my superiors. Everytime you all finish your fight you immediately proceed to the next dungeon so we actually didn't received your video recording."
He said while getting the camera which I forgot existed.
"I still have a lot of work to do so take care of him David." He said and leave me alone.
