--Mega Heal--
"What are you doing now."
She asked me while I am in the middle of healing the bodies.
"I am healing their bodies. I don't want their families to see them at this state. This is the only thing that I could do for them."
"Can't you revive them with your powers?" She asks.
"There are conditions that I need to meet inorder to use resurrection. Unfortunately we didn't meet the condition." I replied.
The bodies are healing and for few more minutes everyone has been healed. If not for the fact that there are people here who's garments has been torn apart or has blood, you would think that everyone here are just sleeping.
"Hooo... My mana reserves has drop to half. Oh well I did a lot of things anyway so it is to be expected." I said as I wipe my sweat in forehead using my hands.
"They look like they're just sleeping now." The camera man said and the reporter agreed to her.
Suddenly 3 people in different places move and stood up.
"Ahhhhhh...."
I shouted in shocked and I immediately hide behind the camera man along with the reporter who were just as shock as me.
"You said you couldn't revive people? How are they waking up?" The camera man asked.
"Yeah it is impossible for the dead to wake up with the spell I used. It's only for healing."
"Then that means that they are not dead yet. Severely injured but not dead. Look only 3 of them seems to wake up, the rest remain as it is." The reporter said and I immediately realize that maybe she was right.
When I tried to detect them earlier, I only sense their diminishing presence. They are probably heavily injured and in comatose if their presence really diminish like that of the dead.
"Where are we?" The lady ask and look around her.
"Why am I here? Is this Jake? Hey jake wake up. Jake Jake.. He's not breathing, help someone please help." Someone become hysterical and looking at us.
"Where am I, where are the monster?" The only guy asks.
"Everyone please calm down we will explain the situation." I tried to calm them down.
"What's going on here?" Suddenly the Lieutenant arrives along with his military entourage.
"Ahh Lieutenant, it seems like not everyone is dead among all the people I retrieve. I used healing spell to the deceased so we could return them to their family in somewhat presentable state. However 3 of them wake up. And it became like this. Could I leave this one to you? I am very hungry now."
I said, pushing the new problems to them.
"Go to the meeting room and wait for me. Join us in our dinner." He said without looking at me, so I just follow his orders instead.
I return to the tent and foods are being brought one after another. It seems like the mayor put some effort for everyone.
I waited for for few minutes and they arrived one by one.
"There is something I need to talk to you but lets do that after we eat." The Lieutenant said and everyone dig in.
Everyone eat like a soldier as they should, full of discipline and regal. While I on the other hand eat gently, carrying proper dining etiquette gracefully.
Since I couldn't join them then I just show them what I can do hahaha. The soldiers are eyeing at me but they didn't utter a single word.
After we eat, the Lieutenant ordered everyone to get out.
"Are you full now?" He suddenly ask out of nowhere.
"Yes, thanks for the dinner."
"I see, then let's start to business. The Mayor here wants to award the surviving soldiers, along with the elites who join the mission, and as well as you awakens, who close the gate in the Bayugan City."
"When?"
"They are still discussing it. It seems like the funeral for the fallen soldiers will be prioritize." The Lieutenant said.
"By the way we need your help. There are still some part of the country that are infested with monsters. There are a total of 109 first batch dungeon in our country and so far only 86 of them has been closed. There are still 23 hanging around. Majority of these dungeons are located in here in Mindanao and some are in Visayas. There are only one left in the Luzon which is the dungeon gate in Marinduque. The undead there kills a lot of awakened individuals and the entire Marinduque has been off-limits and heavily monitored."
He said.
"I see, I'll think about it."
"Actually the president has been asking to all awakened individuals in the country to participate in the eradication of the dungeon monsters. Of course it will not be for free."
"Hmm... I guess I have no choice but to participate. Actually I have been thinking of protecting only the Bayugan City and Davao City. But since the president ask for it then I'll help."
"Good. With your teleportation spell, you could probably escape immediately if things were to go south. By the way I feel like I need to tell you this, it seems like all dungeons has different difficult. There are actually gates that only release monsters that could be easily handled and there are some that we really are powerless. Just like the gate in the Bayugan City. It seems like that one is on a harder scale."
"Oh yeahh, the weakest snake that I encounter there rivals the power and mana of Frizel, the support wearing a long dress. If I didn't have the skill that could kill enemies that I detected, it will be very hard for us to survive."
"I see, then I guess that girl is strong too?"
I nodded.
"I have a question, how will you deal with the second batch of dungeon? Aren't they opening later?" I asked.
"Some awakened has been deployed to watch over them, however, a lot of them has only ordinary soldiers to watch over them since majority of awakened individuals are requested to participate in monster extermination."
"This is kinda hard. After I deal with one problem another will arise again. This is probably the end of human race." I facepalm.
"Yes it probably is. Even USA couldn't deal with their own issue on the Maryland as well. They are losing more and more people in a single monster."
"I saw the news about it. That Fenrir is giant and could use magic as well. It seems like only the strongest awakened could deal with that type of monster."
"If you were there, could you deal with it?" He suddenly ask.
"I could if someone buys me sometime and protect me while I chant. But I think it will be very hard as I am now because I still haven't fully analyze my abilities."
"I see, if you were given time and better allies then you could deal with it right?"
"You sounded like you are planning on sending me there. If I were you, you should deploy me in your country first before you think of the others."
"I wasn't thinking of sending you there. Why would I send my fighters to a foreign land when I have war on my own land. I was actually thinking of something but I guess it's better if it's not you since you are still a teenager."
"Ehh what are you thinking? Anyways, what's your plan now?"
"Actually, I talk to other commanders as well and we are forming a team consist of strong awakened to deal with the monsters. I plan to make you travel from gate to another and assess them whether the dungeon there is easy, moderate,or hard. We will leave the easy one to the soldiers and not so strong awakened. To the moderate we will leave it to awakened with much better capabilities, and the hard one will be left to your group to deal with."
"I guess it's not a bad strategy. I'm in."
"But this mission really requires you to be a good judge of power scale. If you make mistakes in this people will die."
"Yes, I think I am the perfect one suited for this job since I am very sensitive to mana. When were we go?" I asked.
"We will go after the arrival of the helicopter. I somehow understand how your teleportation work so I put a mark on the location of the gates on the map. If the gate is in your range, I want you to teleport there and if we are far we will ride the helicopter until the gate is within your range to teleport."
"Actually teleportation requires me to put a mark on the place that I have been to. The magic that you are reffing is called Space Rift. Well anyways, i think we will save a lot of time by doing your suggestions. But my mana might not be enough for all the trip and battles. After all, my mana has been dropped into half after healing there, teleporting here, using kaboom spells and repairing all the collateral damage in the entire Bayugan City."
"Well what do you need to regain them?" He asks.
"I need monster cores and dungeon mana stones inorder to replenish it."
"I see, I think no one has ever thought of getting the mana stones from the dungeon however there are probably monster cores in the other cities who manage to close their own dungeon. But getting it on our hand as soon as possible will be difficult."
It's probably true since the country is still in chaos.
"I see, other awakened will probably need those to replenish mana but since I am somehow different from them, I have my own way of replenishing my mana. I needed paint for this so please prepare it for me."
He then grab the familiar paint in the corner and hand it over.
I then started to draw a magic circle and it took me only 4 minutes to make.
"I'll be needing electricity here. These magic circle will convert electricity to mana and I could absorb those to replenish my mana reserves."
