As Alex woke up, the first thing he noticed was Kira still sleeping peacefully. He marvelled at her ethereal beauty, her blonde hair cascading gracefully across the pillow, and the serene face she had even in her slumber. He quietly slipped out of the room, careful not to disturb her, and found his mother in the kitchen, preparing breakfast.
"Morning, Mom," Alex greeted her, trying to sound casual despite the whirlwind of thoughts in his mind.
"Good morning, dear," Maria replied, casting a curious glance at her son. "You seem a bit lost in thought today."
"Just had some stuff on my mind," Alex replied vaguely, not wanting to burden his mother with the complexities of his thoughts.
After freshening up, Alex sat down to eat breakfast with his mother. He couldn't help but think of Kira again and the peculiar lack of appetite she exhibited. He quietly snuck some slices of bread and jam for her, but the memories of his vampire transformation came rushing back. He remembered how he had thrown up the normal food he had eaten when he first became a vampire. But now after turning into a genuine he could eat human food safely and the urge for blood had vanished.
He pondered why Kira hadn't asked him for blood or shown any signs of needing it. Hebehaviouror planted a seed of suspicion in his mind, wondering if she was hiding something from him. But he decided to push these thoughts away for the time being. He had more pressing matters to attend to, like getting to school on time.
As he walked to school, the morning sun cast its warm glow over the city, but Alex's mind was preoccupied with the enigmatic girl who had entered his life so unexpectedly. Arriving at the school, he greeted his friends with a smile, but his cheerfulness faltered when he noticed Lilly's lack of interest.
Turning to Ryan and Emma, who sat behind them, he inquired about Lilly's mood, but they too seemed clueless. Concerned for his friend, he approached Lilly and asked, "What's on your mind, Lilly?"
Lilly turned to Alex who was staring intently at her and shook her head, "Nothing. Just some family stuff. "
Alex nodded at her answer. While She tried to reassure him, claiming everything was fine, her eyes betrayed a sense of inner turmoil. It was like she wanted to say something but held herself back.
Deciding to give Lilly some space, Alex couldn't help but reflect on his secrets and the challenges he faced after becoming a vampire. He understood the burden of keeping things hidden and realized that Lilly might be grappling with her problems. Just like him, she might have to face her fears and uncertainties alone.
