Chapter 32 - Chapter 32

Alex found himself sinking deeper into the plush cushions of the couch, lost in a sea of thoughts. The mysterious disappearance that plagued New Haven City and the world gnawed at his mind like a persistent itch. His brow furrowed with concern as he contemplated the unsettling rise in these occurrences, a dark cloud that hung heavily over his thoughts.

He couldn't shake off the unease that clung to him, the worry that someone he held dear could be the next to vanish without a trace. The thought of his mother falling victim to this ominous trend clenched his heart, propelling him into action.

Alex took out his phone, sending frequent messages to his mother and friends, a lifeline to ensure their safety amidst the looming uncertainty.

Yet, the enigma of these disappearances wasn't the sole mystery clouding his mind. The cryptic warnings of his father about a mysterious force tugged at the edges of his thoughts. Despite seeking insight from his father's friend, Samuel, the puzzle remained unsolved, a daunting riddle that threatened to engulf him.

As his fingers drummed restlessly on the armrest of the couch, Alex's gaze drifted to the window, his mind adrift with possibilities. His thoughts turned to Kira, the enigmatic girl who had come into his life so suddenly. The key to unravelling these mysteries might lie within her memories, the missing pieces of the puzzle that could shed light on the darkness that shrouded his world.

"Kira... what's your story? How are you connected to all this?" Alex muttered to himself, his voice a mere whisper in the stillness of the room.

He rose from the couch, his steps purposeful as he made his way to the door.

As he stepped outside, the cool breeze brushed against his skin, invigorating his senses. After him becoming a Sanguine, his life had taken a turn and there seemed to be danger at every step but he was willing to risk his life if it meant that his loved ones wouldn't be in danger.
