Alex returned home from school with a sense of urgency, his mind still grappling with the mysteries surrounding Kira and the disappearances in the city. As he entered his room, he found her sitting on his bed, engrossed in something on her holographic phone. He greeted her with a friendly "hi" but quickly gathered some clothes and went to another room to change.
When he returned to his room, he sat on the edge of the bed, facing her, who looked back at him with an expressionless face. Alex couldn't help but notice that the confused look she had in the morning was now replaced with an air of indifference. Although her demeanour intrigued him, he decided not to dwell on it for now and began asking her a series of questions.
"Now let's introduce ourselves. I am Alex." Alex said as he watched the girl.
"My name is Kira. But you already know that. "She replied curtly.
Alex inquired, his tone sincere yet assertive. " why did you follow me?" That was the most burning question he had.
Kira stayed silent for a moment, as if choosing her words carefully. Then, she responded, "It's because of an irresistible temptation you pose to me."
Alex's curiosity deepened, and he pressed further, "What do you mean by temptation?" What temptation was she talking about?
She hesitated before clarifying, "It's not romantic attraction or anything like that. It's more like you are a delicious snack, and I'm drawn to you because of what you are."
The revelation sent a chill down Alex's spine, confirming his suspicion that Kira was, indeed, a vampire. And he guessed as to why she might be tempted to suck his blood. It was probably because he was now a Sanguine and not some normal human.
He listened intently as she continued, revealing that she wanted to keep her true nature a secret. Alex understood the danger that could befall Kira if her identity were exposed, so he nodded, agreeing to keep her secret safe. He had a secret too.
He couldn't shake the feeling that Kira might be related to the mysterious disappearances, but he decided not to voice his suspicion just yet. Instead, he chose to focus on helping Kira remember what had happened to her and why she had lost her memories.
"Do you remember anything about your past?" Alex asked gently, hoping to unravel the fog surrounding her memory.
Kira looked troubled, her gaze drifting away as she struggled to recollect anything substantial. "My memories are fuzzy," she confessed, her voice tinged with frustration. "I can't seem to piece together much of my past."
Alex felt a pang of empathy for her, realizing that her situation was as perplexing as the enigmas surrounding the disappearances. He knew he had to tread carefully with his questions.
"Do you know anything about the mysterious force that's causing people to vanish in the city?" Alex inquired cautiously.
Kira shook her head, her eyes filled with uncertainty. "I wish I could help, but I honestly don't know anything about it. My memory is like a jigsaw puzzle with missing pieces."
As the conversation continued, Alex began to sense a vulnerability in Kira that he hadn't noticed before. She seemed genuinely lost, searching for answers to her own identity as much as he sought answers to the city's mysteries.
He decided to respect her wishes for secrecy. Instead, he resolved to assist her in discovering her past and, at the same time, unravel the secrets behind the disappearances.
As the evening turned into night, Alex's mind swirled with thoughts of Kira and the enigmatic events surrounding them. He didn't know the reason their paths had crossed.
For now, he would keep her secret close to his heart, while he continued to search for the truth that might bring clarity to both of their situations.
