As Alex broke eye contact with the girl, he couldn't shake off the sense of connection they seemed to share. And the feeling he got from her was like that he got from the vampire whom he had killed. It brought back memories but he pushed it aside and focused on the current situation.
He needed answers, and he needed them now. "Who are you?" he asked, his voice tinged with both curiosity and concern. "And what are you doing here and how did you even get here?" he fired a barrage of questions at the girl as the strangeness of the situation set in. He had a girl sleeping on his bed whom he didn't know.
The girl, who introduced herself as Kira, seemed equally confused and lost for words. It was as if her memories were shrouded in a fog, and she struggled to piece together her own identity. "I... I don't know, I only know my name and nothing more, " she finally replied, her voice soft and uncertain. "It's like I just woke up here, with no recollection of how I got here."
Alex's brow furrowed, his mind racing to make sense of the situation. He suddenly remembered encountering her on the train, and a spark of suspicion flickered within him. "Wait, did you follow me? I saw you on the train yesterday. "
Kira blinked, trying to grasp the fragments of her memories. "I... I don't remember. It's all a blur."
Realizing that he was already running late for school, Alex excused himself, promising to be back soon. He hurriedly made his way to the bathroom to freshen up. As he looked at his reflection in the mirror, his eyes fell upon a telltale sign – a bite mark on his neck. The realization hit him like a bolt of lightning – Kira was indeed a vampire, and she had bitten him. When Alex didn't know but it might have been when he was asleep. But why was she lying to him and what was her motive in coming here? Did she really forget everything or was she acting? There are too many questions and very few answers. It was like his whole life was revolving around mysteries.
'I got bit and I didn't even wake up. 'Alex mentally berated his lack of alertness. His heart raced with a mix of fear and anger. He couldn't comprehend why she had followed him or what her intentions were. He finished freshening up and confronted Kira again in his room, his emotions still raw but his anger tempered by his curiosity. "Why did you bite me?" he demanded, trying to keep his voice steady.
Kira's confusion seemed genuine, and she stammered, "I... I don't know. I don't remember doing that."
Despite his anger, Alex could see the sincerity in her eyes, and he realized that she might genuinely not remember her actions. He decided not to push her further. He just sighed and shook his head.
Feeling torn, Alex left Kira in his room, instructing her not to go outside. He didn't want to involve his mother in this strange and potentially dangerous situation. He quickly grabbed some food for her, hoping to keep her satisfied until he returned from school.
As he walked to school, his mind was a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions. He couldn't deny the strange connection he felt with Kira, and he was determined to find out the truth behind her appearance in his life. What were her intentions and if she was honest or just lying, he had to find out.
