Kai and Cal, two agents of the Supernatural Crime Bureau, sat in their sleek black car as they made their way to the scene of the vampire's body. The car hummed with subtle futuristic energy as it glided through the road, hovering just above the ground. Their expressions were serious, focused on the task at hand.
Kai, the more experienced of the two, glanced at the reports on the car's holographic display. "It's strange, Cal. Vampires don't usually end up dead like this, especially not with a blade this big through their heart."
Cal, the younger agent, nodded thoughtfully. "Yes, it's unusual. And what's even more intriguing is the timing. It's been a while since we've heard about any vampire activity in this area, and now, just when we're tracking the rumours of a new pureblood, we find a dead vampire."
Kai's brows furrowed, his mind racing with possibilities. "Do you think it could be related? A new pureblood rising and a vampire killed in the same vicinity?"
"It's hard to say," Cal replied, adjusting his neural enhancement visor which enhanced his vision. "But it's too much of a coincidence to ignore. Maybe the pure blood's emergence is causing some kind of unrest in the supernatural community."
Kai nodded in agreement. "Or perhaps someone is trying to suppress the rise of the pureblood for their gain. We'll need to investigate further to find any connections."
As they drove through the city, the neon lights of tall buildings flickered around them, creating an atmosphere of mystery and intrigue. The roads were mostly deserted at this hour, adding an eerie aura to their journey.
Cal tapped his fingers on the car's console, deep in thought. "We should also keep an eye out for any other supernatural beings in the area. If there's a pureblood involved, they might not be alone."
"You're right," Kai said, adjusting the steering wheel. "We have to be cautious. Pure Blood is immensely powerful, and if one is involved, it could mean trouble for us."
The car glided smoothly through the city, its silent propulsion complementing the gravity of the situation. The conversation between Kai and Cal was a mix of professional analysis and unspoken trust, a bond that had grown stronger over years of working together.
As they reached the location where the vampire's body had been found, police officers cordoned off the area, and the atmosphere buzzed with activity. Kai parked the car a short distance away, and they stepped out, their senses heightened and ready to investigate.
The two agents approached the scene, observing the lifeless vampire and the signs of the struggle that had taken place. They crouched in front of the corpse and examined the wound. Their faces changed after seeing the size of the wound.
"This couldn't have been done by a blade. This looks like done by a ghoul's wings. What do you think? " Kai said as he turned to his partner whose face had turned even more grave. A ghoul capable of killing a normal vampire on the loose meant a serious problem.
But the even more serious problem was the possibility that this wasn't done by some normal ghoul but by the suspected pureblood.
If that was true then the pureblood wasn't born but created.
"Scan the body and report it to the HQ.... And let's take a look around. "Cal said.
They exchanged silent glances, each one knowing what the other was thinking.
"I think we should start by interviewing any witnesses nearby," Cal suggested, his gaze scanning the area.
Kai nodded, and they began their investigation, determined to uncover the truth behind the vampire's death and its possible connection to the emergence of a new pureblood. The night was just beginning, and the city held many secrets, waiting to be unravelled by the relentless agents of the Supernatural Crime Bureau.
