Swords clinging and crashing against each other. People screaming in the distance and the once white marbled floor was now stained with blood. I came out from my room and then I realized that the castle was under attack. Not knowing what to do, I began to look for my father the king when a snake appeared in front of me. Snakes! this wasn't normal then the snake split into seven, it was a Shakira. They crawled towards me and I walked backwards, I could have burnt them myself as I possessed such abilities being a demon but the thing about a Shakira was when it splits you have to destroy the real one among them. Destroy the wrong one and they multiply more, as one of curled around my leg I got ready to feel the pain of fangs in my feet followed by the pain of poison when it suddenly disappeared. I opened my eyes and looked up to see who had saved me. "Grandma!" I said relieved, she killed the right Shakira. "come, we have to get out here" she said and led me to a secret passage way but it had been discovered by a Shakira. Instantly it transformed into a dragon, these types didn't split. It opened it mouth to breath out fire and my grandma covered me waiting for the heat of the fire when the beast fell to the ground with blood seeping from it's neck then it shifted back to human form. "Dad" I shouted when I realized who had slayed the beast. I ran into his embrace but the moment was short-lived as more Shakira approached us. "Aletta, teleport both of you to the human world they can't get there" my dad said while he tried to find the right Shakira among the snakes. "no dad what about you?"I said and hesitated to leave with my grandma. "Nadine, I promise you that I will come to you when I get your mother and save the people" Dad said and took my hand in his when a tear fell down my cheek ,"here, promise me you'll be good to grandma" Dad said as he gave me a bracelet. I was sad but I knew we had to leave, it was now or never " I promise" I said as my grandma opened a Portal. I watched my Dad watch me as I went through the portal with my grandma.

With tears streaming down from April's eyes she woke up. She sat up and let all her emotions pour out, she drew out one of the drawers from her nightstand. She took out the bracelet her dad had given Nadine when she was little but she wasn't sisters with Nadine that was because April was Nadine. She looked at the bracelet remembering what happened when her and her grandma arrived at the human world. They had to change their identity, and Nadine chose her name April while Aletta chose Ramona. Afterwards they had to make use of their powers to manipulate people to think that they were family. April was innovative and smart and that gave her a business deal immediately after her high school education. Aletta was very good at negotiations, she was a queen mother after all and she became a huge business woman. It was 12 years now, twelve years since April had waited for her parents but they never came, she was five when she left the castle and she didn't want to believe that they were dead. "Dad, Mom where are both of you? I've been waiting for you both for so long" April said as she shed more tears. "please come back, your daughter needs you" April missed her parents so much, she had tried everything to find them. She had tried spell books since she was part witch and part demon. Then she started rubbing her hands against the bracelet, they were spells witches used to call others using their things. She kept rubbing it till her hands bled, who was she kidding her parents were gone. She had been trying this spell for several years and no one came. she kept the bracelet back into the drawer and looked at her hands which had already healed. She laid on the bed and consoled herself to sleep, tomorrow she would try something else after college.
