Chapter 38 - CHAPTER THIRTY SEVEN

ADDA WALKED down the hallway with a string on her heart, finding somber every echo of her walk that filled the silence. Soon, perhaps too soon for her taste, the young employee was in front of her boss’ office. She noticed the door was slightly open, welcoming her to an unknown of horrors that unleashed in her mind. With a shaking hand, Adda pushed the door and entered the scene, trying to appear as calm as she could. She had to get this right and, perhaps, she could still convince her boss to keep her job. It was hard for Adda to believe that herself, a second opportunity seemed something only fairytales could abide, but as a remedy for desperation, she clinged onto the idea.
