A FEW DAYS had passed, and everything was back to normal... Almost. Adda was listening to her English teacher, trying not to doodle on the tacky book. Her head hurt, flooded with relentless "what if" scenarios. After what had happened, she couldn't stop thinking that, at any given time, the truth would surface, ready to make Adda miserable and bruise her badly.
At least I'll have time to prepare before my dad comes home if anything happens...
As soon as she realized she was wandering again, she scolded herself and pinned her eyes to the blackboard, in hopes that paying attention in class would somehow amend for misbehaving at the fair.
Once the class was dismissed and the students were all down stairs at recess, Adda started to eat her sandwich, alone, wishing she could accompany the moment with music. Calm was shattered without warning, a loud voice behind It.
