Chapter 3 - Does age matter in love?

As the couple stepped into the bustling bus terminal, the soft pitter-patter of raindrops on the roof greeted them. They had been caught in a sudden drizzle as they made their way to the terminal, and the relief of being under shelter was palpable.

As they looked up, their eyes were drawn to the news display screen hanging on the wall. It was a picture of a swirling mass of clouds and wind, a cyclone that had been making its way towards the city. But to their surprise, the headline read, "Cyclone dissipates; normal weather is expected in Chennai by this evening.

As the news of the cyclone's dissipation flashed across the screen, Adhvik turned to Nikki, only to see a look of confusion on her face. He could tell that something was bothering her, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.

"What's wrong?" he asked, his brow furrowed with concern.

She hesitated for a moment, biting her lower lip nervously. "It's nothing," she said finally, but Adhvik could tell that she was lying.

Nikki said, "Nothing; I have to go tomorrow; I'm having an exam."

Adhvik replied, "What's wrong? You have agreed to have coffee with me?"

Nikki said, Geetha is waiting to pick me up. So I can't. Sorry, adhvi

Adhvik with a confused face "Okay, Nikki, all the best for your exam."

She smiled and carried her bags. adhvik "hey wait, I can give company till...Geetha"

Nikki gasped and bit her lower lips and spilled, "I am a 27-year-old independent brave woman; I don't need anyone as a companion." She started to walk into the paveway, and he followed and said straight as Arrow, "Does age matter?"

Nikki inclined her head, biting her lower lips, and turned towards him. "Yes, it does matter to me, Advik. I can't date younger people."

Adhvik: "Why is it so?"

Nikki: A lot of factors are there.

First, society won't accept such a thing; second, second maturity mismatch

Adhvik "I can sense you're being part of the conservative... narrow-minded"

Nikki nodded

Adhvik, "Why do you care about society?"

Nikki: "We're part of society; we can't deny the social norms; everything has a reason."

Adhvik: "Tell me the reason."

Both were walking toward a coffee shop and ordered coffee.

Nikki said that basically, men mentally mature later than women. In general, older people have more life experience, so they're slightly more mature. If you're in an age gap relationship, this difference in maturity can be frustrating—you might wonder why your partner is so serious all the time or why they treat everything as a joke.

Adhvik "I can say I have more maturity than you; maturity is also not defined by age but by life experiences.

Nikki Chukle's "social stigma"

Adhvik: "How could you be independent if you confined your thoughts under the rope of society?"

Nikki: "I am trying to be practical."

Adhvik: "You suppressing your thoughts and actions for the sake of society is very wrong."

Nikki rolls her eyes and takes a sip of coffee.

Adhvik says, "Love is only about mutual trust, understanding, and living for each other.

Love is not about age. It was such a gravity between the moon and Earth, which I found with none but with you."

Nikki blushed and pretended that she didn't hear anything.

He continues, "Your eyes could deny, but your heart couldn't..

Nikki: "Are you flirting with me?"

He said, "There is no reason for me to flirt with you; I just want to teach you what true freedom is. I want to make your heart fly today as you want."

Their eyes have been negotiated. Nikki sipped her coffee, and she couldn't help but notice Adhvik's gaze lingering on her. His eyes were a deep, rich brown that held a glimmer of warmth and sincerity. She felt drawn to him, like a magnet to steel.

Adhvik checked out his watch and said, "Let me come to the point. I have 8 hours in my hand".

Nikki: "So...."

Adhvik: "Are you ready to explore your freedom with me?"

Nikki's phone rang; she talked secretly to Geetha. After a while, they came out of the coffee shop. Nikki approaches the women who are standing with Yellow Scooty. Advik raised his eyebrow. Nikki and Geetha were talking, and she patted her shoulder and waved at him. She dropped her scooter, and she disappeared. Nikki is holding her scooter now.

Nikki asked, "I want to make this eight hour as I want it. No more rules, age, name , surname, state. Fuck this society." and smiled.

Adhvik: Yes, my lady."

Nikki: "I love driving with drizzle. Let's explore Chennai."
