"Let's not talk about depressing things now". Gary intervened and stood in between Stuart and Larry instantly easing the depressing atmosphere. "This is the first time we have gathered like this in two months. We should have some kind of party!"
"Gary is right. Having drinks would do". Harry, the last of the three men spoke. He looked to be as serious as Larry was but his eyes carried a mystery that no one could describe. His eyes fell on Berry who minding his business and sipping his wine. He asked, "What do you say, Berry?"
Hearing his name being called, Berry looked up and met Harry's eyes. He was going to refuse but then, he wanted to spend more time with Stuart so he agreed. "Fine by me". He said with a shrug.
They left the room, all five of them walking and discussing something except Berry who refused to talk even when he was asked a question. His eyes never left Stuart's back as he walked in front of him, talking to Larry, about work maybe.
He was relieved when they reached the other room, much bigger than the one he and Stuart shared and the lights were a bright white which was a relief for his eyes that had almost gotten used to the coloured neon lights.
Stuart sat down first and Larry sat beside him on the right while Harry sat beside him on the left. Berry was left to sit with Gary on the other side of the table and E couldn't be more irritated. He hated Gary the most out of the three of them.
Drinks were served along with some snacks for them. Berry didn't touch the snacks but continued to drink the Wine like he was drinking water. From the corner of his eyes, Stuart saw this and stopped talking immediately. He frowned before taking a piece of the snacks on the table and stretching his hand across the table to Berry's lips.
This made Berry give him a surprised look but he parted his lips and ate what Stuart fed him. He thought it was going to end after the first bite, but Stuart kept feeding him while still talking to Harry and Larry. Berry had no choice but to open his mouth and accept whatever Stuart passed to him.
It was a fulfilling yet embarrassing moment for Berry. He was happy that Stuart was feeding him but he was embarrassed because his friends were watching.
Stuart's phone rang and he stopped feeding Berry. He said something to Larry and Harry before standing up and leaving the room to take the call.
As the door closed behind Stuart, the air in the room changed drastically. Berry leaned back and crossed his legs under the table before looking at Gary who was sitting beside him. He felt an overwhelming urge to kill this man because of what he was doing.
"Let go!" He ordered through gritted teeth. He balled his fist tightly as he realised that this Gary guy was either too stubborn or his sense of danger had long left him.
Gary tightened his grip on Berry's elbow, squeezing so hard you would think he wanted to separate his bones. "What if I don't? What will you do? Tell Stuart?" He mocked with a grin that disgusted Berry to his core.
Berry turned away from him and faced the other two who were staring at them blankly like nothing was happening. He realised immediately what was going on. "Did you do this to Kevin while he was still with Stuart?" He was asking but he sounded like he was aware of what they were doing and what they had done.
"You are quite smart Berry", Harry praised sarcastically, "Kevin went through the same thing but Stuart has no idea even till now. He was so obedient and easy to deal with".
Berry scoffed and a light chuckle escaped him. He didn't need to hear anymore as he knew just how foolish these people were. What they didn't know was that he wasn't Kevin, that they were different people who came from different backgrounds and had different personalities.
"Don't think about telling Stuart… no, you can tell him, he just would not believe you. He loved Kevin so much but never once noticed when he was hurt by us"! Larry said smugly while raising his glass to his lips.
Berry was so amused that he had to force himself to stop smiling, "this is shameful. You are shameful, all of you", he tsked, "acting like a bunch of high school bullies".
His words angered them so much that they turned red in the face. To them, there was nothing wrong with dealing with the men who would do anything for Stuart's money. Berry and Kevin were such men which was why they treated them the way they should be treated.
"Just because you two made out in the private room, you think you are special?" Harry hissed, "You are just a one-time thing. Tomorrow, you will be forgotten and that would be the end for you with Stuart". So much venom was poured into those words that would make anyone think that Berry had done something horrible to them.
Harry was confident in what he said and he was sure that Berry was just a one-time thing. Stuart loved Kevin too much and even after Kevin disappeared, they could still see the longing for him in Stuart's eyes.
Unlike what they thought would happen, Berry smiled. He glanced at Harry, his eyes also smiling like he hadn't just been insulted, "then, I will enjoy it while it lasts. You can help me by leaving the room so Stuart and I can have our moment, hmm?"
Harry was so angry that he wanted to throw the contents of his glass on Berry's clothes but he was stopped by a cold voice that made the three of them shiver. "I wouldn't do that if I were you, Harry?"
