"STUART!" Marie's angry voice reached his ears before she even got to his office. Start raised his eyebrows in wonder, trying to remember if he had done anything wrong to Marie for her to sound this angry.
He did not have enough time to think because his door burst open and Marie's angry footsteps echoed in his otherwise silent office, almost making him deaf. He looked at his twin and shivered because she was glaring at him with those eyes that seemed to be pouring out brimstone.
For obvious reasons, Stuart felt that running would be the right thing to d right now even though he had no idea what wrong he had committed against Marie. She was annoying by nature but it was a different thing when she gets angry. The wisest thing to do when Marie is like this is to run because she could be a devil.
Marie was a petite young lady of twenty-five years. She had long black hair which was tied in a low ponytail. She was tall, but not as tall as Stuart and just like her twin, she was exceedingly beautiful.
Marie's eyes scanned him for a minute and Stuart thought he saw worry in her eyes however, the next minute, he felt something smooth crash into his face. He didn't need to be told that Marie had gone berserk and like always, she is going to turn his office into a mess if he did nothing to stop her.
He ran to her and clasped her hands together while holding them in a firm grip but when he looked around, he felt like his efforts were useless and had gone wasted because Marie had managed to mess up his office beyond recognition in the short time he used to walk around his table and hold her hands.
"how do you even do this?" Stuart asked in disbelief as he looked at the mess that was his office. There were scattered files everywhere, some papers were torn and some were still midair, yet to touch the ground. Even his desk look like it had been moved.
Marie struggled to get out of his hold while yelling profanities at her twin, "You damn bastard! Asshole! How dare you ruin what I have worked on for years?!"
Stuart could hear nothing of what she was saying because she was so many words at the same time. But he did hear her curse at him.
He looked at his secretary who looked like she was about to cry, after all, she would be the one to sort out these files again, and he gave her a signal to call Lucas.
Within seconds, Lucas was standing in the office with a horrified expression. His eyes roamed around the office and for the hundredth time since he started working with Marie, he wondered what sin he had committed in his past life to be given a punishment like this.
Yes, being Marie's secretary was a punishment!
He turned to look at Marie and his horrified expression disappeared to be replaced by a professional smile. "it's a good thing you are here miss. Garnett. There are some things that need your attention". This was the way he spoke when Marie was being stubborn. These words would turn her into a docile little girl immediately.
Today, however, is not one of those times. Marie glowers at him and freed herself from Stuart before taking a step towards Lucas. "do I look dressed for work to you?!" she questioned angrily and Stuart who knew how crazy his twin could be when angry drew her back and held her hands down before she could begin to scratch Lucas with those long and sharp nails of hers.
He looked at the clothes she was wearing. Indeed, Marie did not look dressed for work, not in the slightest. She was wearing a small top and tight skirt that stopped at her mid-thighs. Stuart began to wonder how long it took for her to squeeze herself into those clothes. There was light makeup on her face and bright red lipstick on her lips. She looked especially inviting.
Stuart frowned. They might be twins, Marie being the older twin, but he had always acted like her older brother because he is bigger than she is, "haven't I told you to stop wearing clothes like this?"
Marie's eyes found her brother and she folded her hands across her chest angrily, "It's none of your business and I will be the only one asking the questions here!"
Stuart kept silent and pursed his lips. Trying to converse with Marie when she is being like this is utterly useless.
"What did you say to Mr Yates yesterday?"
Stuart's eyes turned into balls and were almost bulging out of their sockets. He said many things to Berry yesterday but he didn't think he would report to Marie.
"What did he tell you?" Stuart inquired with a hint of panic in his tone. Marie, who was still angry, noticed it but refused to address it.
She eyed her brother up and down and sighed, "he told me nothing but for some reason, he decided not to work with me anymore and that was after speaking to you". Her shoulders dropped and she sighed again dejectedly before giving her brother a stink eye, "This happened after speaking to you so you better tell me what you said to him right now! "
Stuart scowled. Did Berry refuse to work with his sister because he refused to be Berry's boyfriend?
"ohhhhh I know that look! You did something to him, didn't you? " Marie yelled while pointing at his face. "you better find a way to fix this Stuart".
"fix what? I did nothing to him". Stuart said immediately. He indeed did nothing to Berry. Whatever look Marie saw on his face was just her illusion.
Suddenly, she began to cry which surprised everyone. They all exchanged looks wondering what was suddenly wrong with Marie but none of them wanted to see her cry. Marie could be annoying, but she was an angel, extremely kind and nice.
With their eyes they cast lots and it fell on Lucas who sighed before going to place a hand on her shoulder.
