Stuart also went to comfort her, "Don't cry. It's not like he is the only chef in the world. I would hire the number one chef in the world for you if you want me to". Stuart had nothing but love and good intentions in his heart when he said those words but what did he get in return? He was pushed away so violently that he almost fell.
Thank heavens for good stamina!
While he was still in shock, Marie harshly gripped his collar. Her face was still wet with tears but his eyes were vicious, "Don't you get it?!" she questioned angrily while harshly thumping her temple with the tips of her fingers. "Berry Yates is the number one chef in the world. It took me years to plan this and you ruined it in a few hours!" she barked.
Stuart blinked, wondering if he was hearing things. How could someone like Berry be the number one best chef in the world? Marie must be mistaken. He wasn't trying to sound bad neither was he looking down on Berry's capability but that man, Berry Yates, Stuart had come to know that he was a complete weirdo!
He seemed unfocused, like those kids from wealthy families who rely on their families for everything and have nothing upstairs. Stuart could accept that Berry is a chef but the number one chef in the world… Nah, it is impossible.
His train of thought was interrupted by Marie's sobs and he was happy that she distracted him because he suddenly realized that he was thinking about that berry guy more than he was supposed to.
The realization made goosebumps break out on his skin.
Marie was in tears again and she buried her face in her palms. They all felt bad for her but after what just happened to Stuart, they would rather keep their distance. Stuart is her brother If she could do that to him, what more to them, mere employees?
They could console her another day, next time, but would not be falling for the same trick twice in one day.
Although he didn't want to, Stuart found himself thinking about Berry again. No matter what he did to distract himself, -which by the way, was just shaking his head every second his curiosity was killing him.
He picked up his phone with trembling fingers and opened the browser app. He typed in 'berry Yates,' before touching the search icon on the screen.
He was beginning to think that whatever he was about to do was bad and he was going to regret it sooner or later but before he could come to an agreement with himself, his shaky fingers touched the icon and he was instantly captivated by what he saw.
'Berry Yates, age 25 is the number one chef in the world according to reviews and critics. He is the only student of the former number one chef who was awarded thirty-five (35)/Michelin stars while his student- Berry Yates- only falls one Michelin star back having thirty-four (34) stars in his…
Stuart did not remember reading anything else because he accidentally intentionally tapped the photos and icon and in a second, only Berry's face could be seen on his phone screen. There were many words he could use to describe those pictures right now but one topped them all and that was breathtaking.
There were photos of Berry just sitting, walking or smiling. He was doing the simplest things yet those pictures strongly tugged the strings of his heart.
Before he knew it, he was already searching for Berry's profile on social media. It would have been really difficult to find it because many other people were using his name, some were fan pages and others were imposters but the blue tick right beside his name separated it from the others.
He hated to admit it but what he saw on Berry's page was extremely disappointing. There were only photos of him cooking and the worst part was, his face wasn't even visible. Only his gloved fingers working or the photos of his dishes were there which left Stuart utterly distressed.
To satisfy his hungry and eager eyes, he went to one of the fan pages. You see one thing about those fan pages, just trust them and they will never disappoint. Those fan pages had every picture of Berry he hoped to see. There was even a picture where Berry was standing half naked but Stuart knew that it was only an edit.
He had seen Berry's body After all.
Stuart kept scrolling and scrolling, careful not to double-tap or touch the heart icon under each post. He thought he would be satisfied after seeing a few photos but who was he kidding? He just got greedier after every photo he saw.
Until he saw a photo where someone commented; 'smug bastard!' with a laughing emoticon. Yes, he also read through the comments.
It was a photo of Berry wearing an all-white golf outfit. According to the caption, he won and was busy showing off.
Stuart accidentally unmistakingly touched the user's name and it directed him to another profile. Stuart did not bother reading the bio or anything like that, he just went directly to the posted pictures which were filled with Berry.
At first, he scrolled through the pictures with interest fuelled by his curiosity but when he saw a very disturbing yet handsome photo of Berry, he felt his heart somersault in his chest.
Berry was shirtless in the photos and this time, it was not an edit. His eyes were throwing daggers at the camera or at the person holding the phone making his anger felt from just that picture alone. He zoomed in and out of the photo, still trying to find some kind of fault with it but no matter how he tried, in the end, the photo was real.
At that very moment, the businessman, Stuart Garnett, turned into a secret investigator.
