Emily Williams leaned softly against him, and Hamilton could feel the warmth radiating from her. He felt a subtle reaction in his body, but no matter how strong the reaction was, he couldn't allow himself to have impure intentions towards a sick patient.
"Here, drink some medicine," Hamilton said softly, picking up a cup and feeding the brewed concoction to Emily Williams.
With her eyes closed, Emily Williams obediently drank the medicine. As Hamilton enjoyed the feeling of holding her, Emily Williams suddenly coughed a few times, and the medicine spilled onto her collar. He quickly turned around and grabbed some tissue from the bedside table to wipe her mouth. As he wiped downwards, her slightly open neckline revealed her snow-white chest.
Catching a glimpse of Emily Williams' partially exposed chest, Hamilton struggled to remain calm. He hurriedly finished feeding her the medicine, helped her lie back down, and covered her with a blanket.
Emily Williams opened her eyes groggily, seemingly aware of his presence, and then closed them with a peaceful expression.
Hamilton placed an ice pack for her while she was still in her dazed state. Trembling, Emily Williams grabbed onto his sleeve. "So cold, so cold..."
Hamilton looked at her flushed face due to fever and her hand gripping his sleeve. After a moment of hesitation, he held her hand.
"Don't be afraid, you'll be fine soon," Hamilton reassured her in a soft voice, only then realizing how warm and tender her hand felt.
Not wanting to leave Emily Williams alone, Hamilton lay beside her, gently embracing her and using his body to drive away the chill. But when his fingertips touched her skin, he felt a slight tingling, as if an electric current passed through.
He knew he shouldn't have any excessive actions or thoughts towards her, but between his arms, held in his embrace, her burning body and the softness it brought made it impossible for him to restrain himself.
Hamilton closely watched Emily Williams' beautiful face. His body ached with desire, and the complex feelings grew stronger. He acknowledged that all of this was thanks to Emily Williams, who disrupted the rhythm of his heartbeat.
In her feverish state, Emily Williams held onto him tightly, pressing her body against him for warmth, treating him like a blanket.
Hamilton felt the softness of her body, but he restrained himself, not allowing any inappropriate actions towards a sick patient.
He occasionally touched her forehead, looking at her rosy face. If her temperature didn't go down, he would have to take her to the hospital.
Hamilton spent the night sleepless. When dawn was approaching, he gently covered Emily Williams' forehead again with his large palm, only to find that her fever had subsided. He was relieved and quietly got out of bed, picked up the ice pack and cup, and left her room.
Emily Williams opened the window, and the fresh air mixed with the scent of soil rushed in. The trees, washed by last night's rain, revealed new buds. Every now and then, a couple of birds flew past the window. Emily Williams took a deep breath of the fresh air.
Emily Williams knew that she had been very uncomfortable last night. There was a vague sense that someone was taking care of her, and she knew that person must be Alex Hamilton. Being low-key, he did a good deed and left.
"Good morning," Emily Williams greeted Alex Hamilton as she walked out of the door, dressed and ready. Alex Hamilton, who was coming towards her, coldly replied, "It's not early anymore. Wake up half an hour earlier from now on to prepare breakfast. I don't want you to be late even if you move in."
Following behind Alex Hamilton closely, Emily Williams looked at his tall figure. She realized that his presence gave her a sense of security. Beneath his cold exterior, he had a gentle and delicate heart.
Emily Williams happily prepared breakfast, and they sat face to face to eat. She occasionally stole glances at him.
Alex Hamilton continued to wear a serious expression. "By the way, you were sick last night..."
Emily Williams' eyes lit up, thinking that he was going to mention about taking care of her last night. She was preparing to thank him properly, but unfortunately, things did not go as she hoped.
"You were sick last night, and before going to bed, you didn't finish the household chores. As a result, I had to complete those boring tasks for you, which also delayed my work progress. Starting today, within three days, you must work with your subordinates to organize the financial records of the past three years for me.
When we get back to the office, start working immediately. Don't go anywhere after work; come back and cook. After dinner, clean the villa thoroughly. The rain last night made many areas wet." Alex Hamilton blinked without hesitation and immediately assigned tasks to her.
"Okay, I will diligently complete the tasks you assigned," Emily Williams readily agreed.
Alex Hamilton looked at her, seeing her happily nibbling on her bread and agreeing without negotiating or demanding fairness and freedom like she usually did. He felt a bit puzzled and wondered if she had gone crazy due to her illness.
After finishing breakfast and getting ready to leave, Emily Williams unexpectedly saw an empty medicine box in the trash bin while cleaning the tableware. An inexpressible joy filled her heart, and she finally confirmed that Alex Hamilton had indeed taken care of her while she was sick.
Happily, Emily Williams walked up to Alex Hamilton who was changing his shoes at the entrance, and with a mysterious smile, she said, "Mr. Hamilton, thank you for last night."
Alex Hamilton cleared his throat. "Thank me for what?"
"Did you take care of me last night?" Emily Williams looked at Alex Hamilton with her clear eyes, anticipating his affirmative answer.
"Joking, that's not possible." Hamilton remained expressionless as he turned to open the door.
"There were indeed empty medicine boxes in the trash can. Although I was quite out of it last night due to illness and couldn't remember many things, I truly felt someone was taking care of me." Emily Williams quickly changed her shoes and caught up with his steps.
"You said you were in a foggy state due to illness. It could also be an illusion. But I have to admit, your vitality is quite strong."
"How do you explain the medicine boxes in the trash can?" Emily Williams asked.
"It's also possible that you sleepwalked and took the medicine." Hamilton replied.
"I don't sleepwalk. As far as I know, there is no medicine cabinet prepared in my newly decorated villa, so it must have been you who bought them."
"Since sleepwalking to take medicine is possible, a little more severely, sleepwalking to buy medicine wouldn't be so strange."
"I told you I don't sleepwalk! It's clearly you who bought the medicine. Are you going to admit it or not?"
"Emily Williams, it seems like you are seriously ill." Hamilton glanced at her impatiently.
Emily Williams smiled faintly. "I didn't expect you to care about others."
Hamilton ignored her and opened the car door, sitting in the driver's seat.
Emily Williams approached the driver's seat window. "Aren't I driving?"
"I don't trust someone who has illusions due to illness to drive." Hamilton didn't look at her, and started the car.
Emily Williams quickly got into the car. She couldn't understand why Hamilton took care of her and yet denied it. But her smile quickly appeared on her lips. Even if he didn't admit it, she already knew that he wasn't as harsh as he appeared. There was a gentle side to him as well.
Because of this, Emily Williams developed a liking for Hamilton. She turned her head to look at his focused profile as he drove and suddenly felt that he was a handsome man.
Hamilton probably noticed her gawking at him like a love-struck fool and turned to look at her. "What's wrong? Have you fallen for me due to your illusions?"
"No," Emily Williams retracted the look of admiration that she inadvertently revealed, her face blushing.
"Really not?" Hamilton looked at her profile, noticing that her cheeks and ears were turned red, as if he could read her thoughts.
"Do you think that just because you took care of me for one night, I would be endlessly grateful and erase all the negative perceptions I had of you, refreshing my opinion of you? Impossible." Emily Williams bit her lip. After all, he wouldn't like her, and she would definitely not show any of that inexplicable fondness she had for him.
Hamilton sneered, "Emily Williams, no matter what you think of me, I think I'm pretty great, and I won't change just because of your opinion."
"Narcissist," Emily Williams scoffed lightly.
Hamilton smiled faintly, "It's been tough working with a narcissist like me. Sit tight, the narcissist finds slow speeds boring, so I want to change things up."
Emily Williams looked at him, her body suddenly leaning back as Hamilton had already stepped on the accelerator, increasing the speed.
"Hamilton, you're despicable," Emily Williams tightly held onto her seatbelt, squinting her eyes and unable to look ahead.
Hamilton grinned at the corner of his mouth, finding great pleasure in Emily Williams' startled appearance.
The lights in the office were still on. Emily Williams sat at her desk, facing the computer and continuously cursing Hamilton, who was sitting at another desk, drinking coffee. Although it was already after work hours and everyone had left, Hamilton insisted that she stay and finish the financial report, using her illness as an excuse.
The numbers on the screen gradually became blurry, and Emily Williams rubbed her eyes vigorously, inadvertently muttering, "Taking revenge on personal grudges."
The next moment, Hamilton was standing behind her, enclosing her between the desk and his arms.
His breath brushed against her earlobe, "What were you mumbling just now?"
Emily Williams turned her head, trying hard to maintain her distance from him, blushing, "N-nothing, I'm just a little tired."
"Are you sure? What I heard didn't sound like that version," Hamilton chuckled lightly, his face already brushing against her cheek.
"Maybe you misheard," Emily Williams turned away, feeling awkward with how close he was to her. Her heartbeat became irregular.
"Emily Williams, don't let your focus wander while working," Alex Hamiltonntained a close distance while speaking to her.
"I'm not distracted," Emily Williams turned around to defend herself, but her face accidentally collided with his soft lips.
"Mmm…" Emily Williams widened her eyes in surprise, trying once again to create distance between them, but she couldn't escape from his arms. It felt as if she was being embraced by him, leaving her somewhat bewildered.
Hamilton glanced at her, wearing a formal suit with a high collar, a button tightly fastened, which made him fantasize about her inner self. Looking further down, her narrow mini skirt just barely reached her knees, igniting even more wild thoughts, imagining what secrets lay between her legs.
