Chapter 8 - Uninvited Guest

She looked so dignified and elegant, but in a casual moment, she appeared charming and captivating, which indeed piqued his interest. However, he still doubted the Chairman's intention in arranging her by his side.

"Alright, let's call it a night here," Hamilton released her arms.

"Really? That's great, that's great!" Emily Williams stood up and hugged Hamilton with excitement, realizing that she unintentionally embraced him. She quickly let go and took two steps back.

Ignoring her actions, Hamilton pulled her into his embrace, firmly holding her in his arms. Startled, she cried out and struggled to break free.

Seeing the terrified expression on Emily Williams' face, Hamilton couldn't help but laugh. He tightened his arms around her even more, his face leaning mischievously close to hers, almost touching her. "Since I've been hugged by you once, I don't want to be at a disadvantage. Now that we've both hugged each other, it's settled."

"Boring." Emily Williams pushed him away forcefully, picked up her bag, and walked briskly towards the office door.

Hamilton followed behind her, unable to conceal the smile on his face.

Inside the car, Emily Williams rested her chin on her hand and absentmindedly gazed at the night scene outside the window. Then, with a puzzled look, she turned her gaze towards him. "Hamilton, this isn't the way back to the villa, did you take the wrong route?"

"I never said we were going back to the villa," Hamilton glanced at her briefly, his eyes focused on the road ahead.

"Then where are we going? Don't tell me you're planning to reward me for working late at this hour when I'm already a bit hungry?" Emily Williams cradled her stomach with both hands.

Hamilton glanced at her again. "Dream on. Come with me to a nightclub."

"A nightclub?" Emily Williams was surprised. She had never been to such a lively place before.

"It's more like you're accompanying me than me taking you there," Hamilton smiled helplessly.

"Do you often go to nightclubs abroad?" Emily Williams asked curiously, looking at Hamilton.

"I occasionally go to unwind. It's no fun just being a workaholic all the time," Hamilton replied. By then, the car had already parked in the nightclub's parking lot.

The two of them entered the bustling nightclub. Following the rhythm of the music, Hamilton walked into the dance floor and danced with women wearing seductive outfits.

Emily Williams sat on a high stool on the side, drinking beer and watching Hamilton. His handsome appearance and graceful moves attracted many alluring women, who approached him and teased him one after another.

Hamilton ignored the women who constantly approached him because they were interested in him, but he occasionally glanced at Emily Williams' location, prompting her to wave at him.

"Oh? Isn't that Emily?" a male voice came, and a figure quickly appeared in front of Emily Williams.

Emily Williams saw that it was her good friend Jack Wilson, and a smile immediately lit up her face. "Why are you here too?"

"I came here with my friends to have fun. Are you alone?" Jack Wilson had just finished dancing, and his body glistened with sweat, exuding a mature man's scent.

"No, I'm here with my boss," Emily Williams spread her hands, indicating that she didn't like this kind of occasion.

"I knew it! You're such a goody two-shoes who has never been to a place like this. I begged you so many times to come to my birthday party, but you refused," Jack Wilson feigned sadness.

Emily Williams patted his shoulder. "Don't tease me. Last time was at a bar, and you know I rarely go to bars."

"I know. You just need a protector. With me around, those drunks wouldn't dare to do anything to you," Jack Wilson said, glancing at Emily Williams' figure. Indeed, his good friend was easily noticed by others.

"I just don't want to cause trouble for everyone," Emily Williams smiled.

"So, are you sacrificing your life for your boss now?" Jack Wilson swept his gaze across the dance floor, wanting to know who had such ability to make Emily Williams appear at the nightclub. He put his arm around Emily Williams' shoulder and looked towards the dance floor. "Tell me, which one is your boss? Is he handsome?"

Emily Williams looked at Hamilton, and coincidentally, Hamilton also looked over. She waved at him and said, "He's the one in the white shirt in the middle."

Hamilton was in a good mood, until the moment Emily Williams waved at him, he also noticed Jack Wilson's intimate gesture with her. His face immediately darkened, and he no longer paid attention to the women surrounding him. He walked out of the dance floor with a displeased expression.

Jack Wilson patted Emily Williams' shoulder. "Emily, take good care of your boss. My friend called for me. I'll leave first. Let's hang out another time."

"Okay," Emily Williams nodded and smiled as she watched Jack Wilson leave.

Emily Williams had just turned her gaze back from Jack Wilson to the dance floor when she noticed Alex Hamilton walking towards her with a cold expression on his face. She was taken aback, wondering if some girl had offended him, as he looked incredibly angry.

Alex Hamilton picked up the glass of wine from the table and downed it in one go. Then, he looked at Emily Williams and said, "You have very few female friends but quite a number of male friends, don't you?"

Emily Williams looked at Alex Hamilton in bewilderment, not understanding the hidden meaning behind his words.

"Don't be too pleased. They all have ulterior motives and hidden agendas towards you," Alex Hamilton spoke with a sarcastic tone.

Emily Williams suddenly realized that he had been mocking her from the beginning, and her anger surged, "My friends are not as malicious as you think."

A smile appeared at the corner of Alex Hamilton's mouth, "You'll realize how bad they are when it's too late."

"They would never treat me like that. You have a small mind and misjudge others," Emily Williams said angrily, glaring at Alex Hamilton.

"Unpleasant advice is not well-received. Suit yourself," Alex Hamilton said and picked up his coat, preparing to leave the club.

Although Emily Williams was unwilling, she made an effort to catch up with Alex Hamilton's steps. She walked too hastily and accidentally bumped into someone beside her.

"I'm sorry, it was not intentional," Emily Williams quickly apologized.

The person paused for a moment but soon noticed Emily Williams' seductive figure beneath her suit. "Oh, so a beauty has bumped into me. It's alright, as long as you accompany me in finishing this bottle of wine."

"I'm sorry, I need to drive. I can't drink," Emily Williams replied, looking at the burly man in front of her, and continued to move her feet.

"It's fine. Finish it, and I'll have my buddies drive you home," the man with greasy face insisted on holding her.

"No, it's not possible. I'm sorry," Emily Williams anxiously glanced at the receding figure of Alex Hamilton.

"You're not giving face, huh? Well, if you don't drink this wine, you'll have to spend the night with us tonight. Don't even think about leaving," the man refused to let her go, and began to get handsy and unruly.

Emily Williams watched as Alex Hamilton disappeared into the crowd. She was being pulled by someone and couldn't leave, feeling at a loss for what to do.

"So, if you don't drink, you'll have to spend the night with us," the man with lustful eyes perused her body.

"I'm sorry, I really didn't mean to bump into you earlier..." Emily Williams was truly afraid that Alex Hamilton would leave her and drive away.

"I don't mind. How about spending the night with me and call it even?" The man reached out to wrap his arm around her waist.

In the next moment, the man let out a scream of pain. Emily Williams turned her head and saw Alex Hamilton, gripping the man's wrist, causing a sharp cracking sound.

"Ouch! Where did you come from? How dare you mess with me?!" The man shouted in pain.

"I suggest you watch your mouth, or else I'll cripple your hand," Alex Hamilton's voice was deep and filled with anger.

The man was no pushover. He forcefully broke free from Alex Hamilton's grip and shouted, "Guys, get him!"

Alex Hamilton pushed Emily Williams out of the crowd, alone facing several aggressive thugs. But being outnumbered, he kept retreating. His left shoulder was sliced by a sharp object, causing him pain. He grabbed a nearby chair and smashed it at the group of thugs.

The nightclub quickly turned into chaos. Alex Hamilton turned around, grabbed Emily Williams's hand, and took advantage of the commotion to escape the nightclub.

Emily Williams noticed the wound on his left shoulder. "Alex Hamilton, you're injured."

"It's nothing. Just drive." Alex Hamilton kept a watchful eye on the nightclub entrance, pushed Emily Williams into the car, and quickly walked to the passenger seat.

The pursuers followed them outside, and Emily Williams quickly stepped on the gas pedal, fleeing the scene.

Emily Williams trembled with fear. "Alex Hamilton, I'll take you to the hospital to treat your wound, okay?"

"It's just a minor injury. I'll be fine. Let's go back and take care of it." Alex Hamilton pressed on the wound.

"It's all my fault. If I had been more careful while walking, I wouldn't have bumped into that person, and you wouldn't have gotten hurt." Emily Williams felt guilty.

"In that kind of place, this kind of situation is unavoidable. Don't shoulder all the blame yourself." Alex Hamilton knew he was also responsible for this. If he hadn't stupidly left her alone and walked away, maybe this wouldn't have happened.

"Alex Hamilton, please don't go to that kind of place again, it's chaotic and dangerous..." Emily Williams frowned, replaying the scenes in her mind. She couldn't help but worry about Alex Hamilton's wound. "Does it hurt a lot?"

"It's nothing. This small wound is nothing. But I finally realized that you really shouldn't be taken to such places." Alex Hamilton sighed, realizing that there were too many people lusting after her beauty. With his own strength alone, he couldn't protect her.

"Yes, that's why I won't wander around carelessly. I'll go straight home as soon as work is over," Emily Williams said earnestly.

"Homebody." Hamilton sighed, utterly speechless.

"Is it bad to value the importance of family? Going home to spend time with my parents, enjoying the meals they cook and the soups they stew—I am their only daughter. If I don't spend time with them, who will? Look at you, you've been in this country for so long since you came from America, and you haven't even made a phone call." Emily Williams couldn't understand what was going on with her boss.
