-3rd POV-
Melissa, who is currently Christina, is following Kotori to the Engineering Department. The walk wasn't quiet nor boring, in fact, the two talked so much that the author didn't bother to write it at all.
"Anyway, here we are!" Kotori stopped in front of the Engineering Departments doorstep, which was quite normal. Despite knowing of what the interior generally looks like, the difference between reading, playing and seeing are very different. Plus, there was a thought that irked 'Christina'.
'Why is the door so small? In game, the room on the inside is massive...' She had beady eyes while thinking this but shook her head and smiled.
"I'm pretty excited to meet other people who share the same hobby as me." Christina didn't exactly lie, in some of her memories of this body, the girl occasionally tinkered around with random objects. This included but was not limited to, vehicles, firearms, those weird machines in the desert related to CHESS, etc.
Anyway, after she spoke, the door slid open revealing a massive interior. It looked more akin to the inside of a warehouse or military supply depot. It didn't show this in game, but there is a whole bunch of stuff lying around. On tables and walls, there seemed to be firearms waiting for pick out. Although not as many as when Christina found that weird stash when she woke up.
But among the many neatly placed items and many nuts & bolts, a bit further away, was something that peaked her interest.
-Melissa POV-
'T-that's Supernova: The Sword of Light...' What hung on the wall was what appeared to be a railgun. It seemed almost complete, missing it's outer white shell and some parts. What parts? I couldn't tell without tearing it apart or seeing blueprints, but it was almost complete. But the weapon was a railgun, a laser canon meant for a future character part of the Game Development Department.
'Ah, it's almost as large as me. Well, it was originally meant for an intergalactic battleship, not a big surprise. Ah...' Without realizing it, I had unconsciously wandered towards it.
"Kotori, who's this?" A soothing voice came from behind me, as I turned around I saw Kotori beside the person who addressed me.
Her halo had a pink digital-framed hexagon with cybernetic wings on each side. Long violet hair that went down to her legs, tied by something similar to the wing on her halo. Violet eyes that scuttered between me and Kotori. She also wore the standard Millennium uniform with a Shiny Lab coat and a black sweater. Underneath, was a white shirt and blue tie. Looking down, she had black tights and a black uwabaki. She was Shiraishi Utaha, the president of the Engineering Department.
"Ah, this is someone who's not only interested in joining the club, but as enthusiastic about everything as I am!" Kotori the ever so bright, helped me out with a good introduction.
"Ah yes, hello, I'm Christina Frazure, a transfer student. I'm a hobbyist who enjoys messing around and making something new from the old." I lied as I breathed... not really, I kind of do enjoy this new found ability of mine. It's cool seeing the inner and outer workings of different things.
I see Utaha nod as she introduces herself, "I am Shiraishi Utaha, 3rd year and president of the Engineering Department." She walked towards me as she spoke, and I won't lie, she has a very calming presence. She held a wrench in her right and hand put it under her chin.
"Are you sure you want to join? All we really do here is build for the sake of our satisfaction." Utaha questioned me with sincerity. Although I wanted to join mainly cause I needed parts and to adjust the railgun, it would be nice to make some friends.
"I... want to make a difference. I want to make stuff with people I can call friends and to help people with the stuff we make." I stared right into Utaha's eyes as I spoke, as if I was attempting to convince her by sheer conviction.
-3rd POV-
As the two stared into each other's eyes, another two were watching from afar. One of them was Kotori while the other was another member of the Engineering Department.
She had a small yellow barred circle inside another large two circles on her Halo. Black wavy hair tied into a ponytail on the right side of her head with a yellow and purple orb connected to a band. A pair of engineering googles on her forehead. Black floppy dog ears and a black tail with white tip, which paired well with her gray eyes. She also wore a white and yellow hoodie with a black and gray tank top, with short pants underneath. Her legs had webbed stockings and black boots. She's Nekozuka Hibiki, a 1st year in the Engineering Department.
"A-are we getting a new member?" She shyly asked while her tail slowly swayed and ears curiously listened in.
"I don't know, but I hope we do! Chris seems really cool and witty." Kotori also watched intently and listened in.
But unknown to all those involved, Christina... no, Melissa's eyes shone. Underneath her contacts, her originally golden iris's shone a pink hue, and within that pink, was the shape of a diamond.
"Sure, we'd gladly like to have another member of this club." Utaha sighed and replied with a smile on her face. She held her hand out towards Christina and waited.
"Thank you for having me, Utaha Senpai~" Christina shook her hand and spoke a big smugly but honestly. After that interaction however, she caught sight of Hibiki and looked towards Utaha in confusion.
'My acting is pretty good right?' Christina thought, but decided to continue with this type of conversation shift.
"Ah, Hibiki, this is Frazure Christina, a new member of the Engineering Department..." Utaha glanced at the ID hanging off Christina and continued, "She's a 1st year like you."
Christina spoke first with gusto, somewhat acting like Kotori. "Nice to meet you! I'm Christina Frazure, new transfer and someone interested in making stuff with friends." She took a few steps towards Hibiki while speaking. 'I hope I don't scare her like this.'
"H-hi, I'm Nekosuka Hibiki... Also a 1st year. Good to meet you." Internally, Christina sighed and Hibiki was trying her best to keep it together.
Nobody knew, but after this interaction, the future would change drastically.
Hey, I have a question. Should I go with Aris, the global translation, or Alice, what everyone originally wanted?
Also, yes I am alive. I have just been really sick and busy, so time has not been on my side. I hearby make vow, I will attempt to upload once a week. Whether it be this book or another, I'll at least try while in this weird condition I'm in.
Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed, if there's any recommendations for something, just reply to this comment.
