She brought out several bags and threw the contents inside on the floor.
"It might be in this box." She said to herself and opened the box, she found several old items including a small camera.
"Isn't this the same camera in the room the day I had sex with that stranger?" She asked herself and then concluded.
"It's not important anyways, we had sex few weeks ago not a month ago."
She picked up the camera, took out it memory card and wanted to throw it away when she heard her month calling for her.
"Jaden is here." Mrs. Claire announced from the door and Mylar quickly got up, hurriedly dumping the things in her small waist bag without realizing it.
She was so nervous wondering what to say and how to react before Jaden but she still went before him either way.
"Babe, what happened? Why did you leave my house without telling me? Are you alright?" Jaden asked continuously, he gave her a hug, a kiss on the forehead and hugged her again.
"I am sorry that I didn't call, I came back here because Mom asked me to, so that she can take better care of me since she was at home and you were not." Mylar replied stammering a bit.
"Oh, I see." Jaden said and then thanked Mrs. Claire who had come out a while ago.
"I think I should leave now, to freshen up. I will be back to check up on you." Jaden announced after having a glass of water offered to him by Mrs. Claire.
"I was worried when I didn't see at home but since everything is fine. I will see you later babe, take care of yourself." Jaden added and made for the door when Mylar stopped him.
She was feeling so guilty that her body felt dry and she became weaker inwardly. She couldn't bare to see Jaden worry about her when she didn't even deserve it, how could she have done such a thing? If only she had met him earlier then none of this would have happened, now rectifying her mistake was the only thing she could think of.
"Yes, do you need something?" Jaden asked worried again.
"You don't need to come check up on me later." Mylar replied coldly as if she was angry.
"And why is that?" Jaden asked suddenly scared by words.
"I will come over myself later. I need to discuss something important with you." Mylar said trying hard to stop herself from crying.
"You scared me. Alright then, I will be waiting for you." Jaden said with relief and smiled, he opened the door and went out into the cold and snowy street.
It was winter already, the weather was fairly mild with a temperature of around 13°C since it was still morning.
"What do you want to do?" Mrs. Claire yelled at Mylar grabbing her hand.
"Do you expect me not to tell him? Is it until he finds out himself before we tell him, when I start having all soughts of mild sickness and then cravings? We can't hide this." Mylar replied.
"But still." Mrs. Claire tried to say but Mylar cut her short.
"No buts, I will tell him and that's it."
Diego left the others while they enjoyed their drinks, he went into the sitting room and sat down on the couch then suddenly he heard a sound as if someone walked pass him but when he turned around, he didn't see anyone.
"Why do you keep coming after me?" Benjamin yelled at Emelda when he saw her behind him as he went to pick the call from his wife.
"Hello love." He said happily as he picked her call.
"Hi love, how are things going?" Rebecca asked and he responded.
"Everything is going well, preparations are in full swing."
"That's nice, I just got back home so do not worry about coming home early today."
"Alright love, so how did the case go? Did you win?"
"Don't you trust me, I always win anything I set my mind to."
"Yes you do, congratulations love."
"Love, enjoy your self and make sure to take care of yourself while you do."
"Sure I will, talk to you later and please tell my baby that I love her."
"Yes I will." Rebecca said and hung.
"I am asking you a question." Benjamin yelled at her again and instead of her answering, she came close to him and wrapped her hands around his neck.
"Stop that!" Benjamin said pulling her hands off.
"What is wrong with you? Why do you keep acting like I am some plague?" Emelda asked annoyed by his behavior.
"You are not a plague but how many times do I have to explain to you that I am a married man and that I..." Benjamin was responding to her when she cut him off by completing his sentence.
"Love my wife, I have heard that more than enough times already now spare me. You are not the first man to have a wife and you won't be the first man who gets pleasure from outside, why are you acting like some saint."
"I want you Benjamin and whatever I want I get." Emelda added and then suddenly became sad or she pretended to be.
"What is wrong with you now?" Benjamin asked when she started sobbing, she looked at him allowing the tears to flow down her eyes freely before answering.
"I always have what I want, it's how I have been since I was a child and those things weren't what I needed, they were just things I thought I needed but the truth is that I have never really gotten what I needed in my life."
"What are you saying now?" Benjamin asked calmly, this was his only weakness, he can't bear to see anyone crying or in pain.
"Benjamin, you are very lucky to find someone who loves you enough to marry you and spend the rest of her life with you unlike me, I am always unlucky with my partners. First it was a guy called Sam who cheated on me with my step sister because he thought she was my dad's first child and biological daughter who would get the majority shares of my dad's properties and then, there was Diego whom I adored so much and even proposed to like an idiot that I was, he refused my proposal with the excuse of him not being sure if he wanted to be in a serious relationship and then ended things with me only to date and engage another." She said crying continuously as she did.
Benjamin felt sorry and sat next to her, holding her hand in his and placing the other hand on her back to pet her. She moved closer to him and placed her head on his shoulder, she asked him.
"What is fair to hurt me like how they did? What did I do wrong? Was I not beautiful enough? Did I lack something?"
"I keep wondering what it is that made me suffer so much." She added and nestled closely to him.
"I am sure you lack nothing, it is just those men that are stupid." Benjamin said comforting her.
"Are you also stupid?" Emelda asked suddenly and Benjamin said "what" confused.
"Because you keep seeing faults in me as well." She said completing her sentence.
"What are you saying now?" Benjamin asked staring at her in shock, one time she is normal and in an instant she is crazy again.
Emelda and Benjamin's face was so close and she noticed that someone was coming, she immediately concluded that it was Diego and so she didn't want to miss this opportunity.
"I asked you a question." Benjamin said again but she ignored him and jerked forward suddenly, landing her lips on his. Their lips locked together naturally and Diego walked right in time to witness it, seeing the way it happened, no one would believe that Emelda forced herself on him.
Benjamin moved away as sharply as her lips touched his and then saw Diego who was already close to them.
Sir? Benjamin called out and hurriedly got up to face Diego's fury.
"It's not what you think." Benjamin tried to speak but Diego cut him off.
"Forget about what I think, the events planners want to meet you for further discussion so please go immediately." Diego said to him calmly, which was unexpected.
"What are doing?" Diego asked Emelda after Benjamin was out of sight but she just stared him confused, she was unsure of his reaction.
"What do you mean?" Emelda asked.
"Are you not aware that he is married? Will you really do all this just to get yourself a man? Why not go after single guys?" Diego asked each question after another.
"Are you insulting me? And who told you that I am doing all this because I am desperate to have a man in my life? My life has been fine without a man and so it will continue that way."
