Chapter 1 - Encounter

372. YEAR AFTER THE DARK DAY

At the concert, there was a worthy crowd for The Purity of a Sun. This place is the closest place to SOU among the places that they will stop by during their tour. 3rd city which has large sports complexes and the concert will be held one of them.

"Hurray! After a tiring mission, there is nothing like watching Purity!" shouted out Aisha cheerfully.

She was looking at the stage while raising her arms. As lowering her arms, she said "I wish the other two were here too." The change in her voice was reflecting her sadness.

There was nothing to do. These two were called to a mission at the last minute. They were going to start having fun which they had planned long before with the missing ones in their group. The remaining six of the group rented two tents from the small tent neighborhood out of the field.

There was an hour before the concert start. The crowd was growing and as it was growing, Amy was looking for a place to hide. She was at the edge of sleeplessness and as if that were not enough, an unendurable headache was started too.

There were maybe more than two thousand people around her; they all were walking, talking, laughing, and hugging each other. She was sensing that without looking.

For Amy, being in the crowd is just like being under attack by the ants as a dead cockroach. As if people were an army of ants, and she was an insect that had been injured and preyed upon. The ants were trying to crash her body by tearing her arms and legs.

...

Traffic cops controlling the congested main road from the city center to the sports complexes looked at each other bewilderedly when they heard the announcement from their car. The announcement was ordering them to stop eight people on a mutant mount that can jump up to two meters when they see.

While one of the cops was grumbling in laughter "Is this a joke? Eight freaks on a mutant mount in a metropole?", they saw a man hovering two meters above on the aforementioned mount over a truck a few meters from the patrol car.

After a few moments of spacing out, one of the cops managed to use his whistle and stopped the two people ahead.

...

Amy sensed something. She focused on the energy, as things that she could sense from that far away were quite rare. Something was approaching the area that she was at a speed of thirty kilometers per hour.

According to calculations of Amy, there was more than five kilometers apart from the incoming energy and it was getting bigger. However, after a few seconds, the energy she felt stopped moving.

Amy was startled as Bushra asked, "We're going to get the autograph version of the last album; shall we go together?". Bushra repeated the question, but Amy thanked her as she said that she did not want to. She has already bought one as soon as the album came out.

She said, "I'm going to buy water." And asked others if they also wanted to. Zain offered to Amy to escort her, but Amy rejected him and decided to buy water for everyone.

On the other hand, Aisha saw someone from the organization and joined them. Apparently, they were going to watch the concert separately.

As Amy walked away rubbing her head, Esther looked behind her. She said while sighing, "It must have been very difficult for her to be here." Zain approved Ester, "Her red eyes show her tiredness, poor girl..." and he added, "So it looks like she loves this band."

Ester said, "Yes she loves it, but we are also having time together. This makes her happy as well as all of us. Lately, we haven't been able to do anything together." She ran a hand through her curly blonde hair and scratched her head while continuing to watch Amy until she disappeared into the crowd.

Amy walked the long hallway slowly. There was a place to sit and vending machines working with coins somewhere in this hallway. She had seen it before.

She found it and threw 3 mu into the machine and bought three bottles of water. Then, thinking there was still time, she went to one of the seats and sat down. She pulled her legs to herself and put her head between her arms and knees.

She was not hearing, seeing nor touching something but she was sensing something. Thousands of energies in different dimensions were not only moving but also growing and shrinking.

It was a unique talent that no one else had but herself; the sixth sense. At her current age, she could sense the energy of any human being from 72 meters away. She could sense the energy of some people who have bigger energies from farther, but these people were extremely rare. Sensing energy from five kilometers was a record for Amy.

Trying to forget the energy she felt even though she was still so far away she thought, "I wonder with which song Purity will start the concert." She was hoping they would sing a few of her favorite songs.

After a while, she was startled when that energy she felt from far away started to approach the concert area with tremendous speed. The energy was almost teleporting, and it did not take ten seconds to go that far.

The energy stopped when it arrived in the concert area. Amy forgot to breathe for a while because of the magnitude of the energy she felt.

...

After seeing Karen entering the field before him, Jame felt devastated as he was defeated and threw himself on the grass.

While laughing Karen said, "I'm scared that you will be going to act like a brat and cavort on the ground."

As Jame remembered that he revealed his identity to outwit the cops he replied by pulling himself together, "I haven't seen grass in a long time, so I was just showing my happiness."

Without caring about his lie, Karen was on his way to give the concert ticket to the box office but when he remembered that one of the girls had taken the tickets, he stopped and sighed. Then he looked at Jame and said, "I hope we didn't act inappropriately to others by coming here first."

While cleaning the dust on his knees Jame said "Revealing your identity has brought us so much time or else cops would have arrested us for riding a prohibited mount in the city center... Let them count your kindness and relax."

Karen replied to him "I did nothing. We all had to reveal our identities. Besides that, if you had not heard the cop's warning, we would have been more guilty."

Nowadays many people have supernatural physical strength and speed but since there is no one in their group as fast as these two, they continued their almost three centuries of speed competition between them by coming here after cops stopped them.

Karen was able to catch the concert of The Purity of Sun in the 9th city and he also went to the one in the 6th city as well. After that, he joined the fan convoy which is created just for Purity with his friends until the 4th city.

However, when he had to leave the convoy due to his work, also his friends left the convoy and accompanied him. Afterward, they came here with their mounts as they could not find a vehicle in the deserted area where they went to catch the concert in the 3rd city.

Karen headed to the office where he could rent a tent before the toll booth, as the others had still time to arrive. He intended to rent modest tents that could fit eight people for one night but as the team organizing the concert had already been briefed by the city's police department, Karen was offered four large tents, even though he did not want to rent.

Karen always marveled at the authority of the 3rd city's police department. Karen said, "We determine who will take which tent by drawing lots." while handing the cards with the numbers of the tents to Jame.

As soon as they entered the field, their group had dispersed. Again alone, Karen and Jame looked after Alaeddin for a while, who was dragging Louis after a woman he got on his eye.

Alaeddin was thinking that impressing women is a teamwork and this time he chose Louis as his partner in crime which is a relief for Jame and Karen.

While going to tribunes "It looks like the concert will be amazing also here!" said Jame.

"Yes, the concert will but after that... I don't think so," complained Karen. Jame teased him as he said "Ah don't talk like that Karen! You were the one who offered to choose tents by drawing lots. Also, you know that you couldn't find a more fun mate than Monro."

"You know why I don't want him. He never stops! I can't read books nor sleep." said Karen.

Jame, who understood very well what Karen meant, brought the subject to the point where he wanted to bring it and continued "You are right but sometimes you also can try to keep pace with him. Just try to ignore him for a night. I do think you shouldn't behave yourself tonight either."

It had been almost thirteen years since Karen's depression. He was not like back then at the time, but as Jame remembers those days, he was afraid that his friend would be like that again. That was the reason why Jame was trying to put the things that could connect a person to live right in front of Karen's eyes.

It could be a book, a city, an adventure, a woman, a hobby or anything to be busy with and he meant not holding himself back from women and finding one to hookup by saying 'shouldn't behave himself.

Karen looked at Jame for a while as if he did not understand him. While starching his head Jame said, "I don't understand if you are playing the fool or not." while toward through tribunes.

Because Karen was thirsty, he kept in his mind where Jame was heading so he could find him easily later. Then said "I'm going to buy water. Be back soon."

After asking someone who was waiting for the concert by the field where to buy water, Karen passed through the door under the tribune. He was also remembering that there was a place to sit and vending machines working with coins somewhere in this hallway.

Amy was still sitting while keeping her head between her arms and knees, trying to stop focusing on that energy but failed again. Moreover, that energy started to approach her after it arrived at the concert area and was still approaching her.

As the energy approached, it shut off the energy of the crowd where it was left behind. Energies that grow and shrink gradually were disappearing as the movements stopped. Just as the stars, which were farther and smaller than the sun, went out when it rose.

Finally, the owner of the energy arrived. Amy understood from the sound of the coins that it was buying something from the machine standing right next to her. She did not raise her head; she would not dare to.

That thing stood there for a while. There were just two meters between them. Then suddenly, it started to move. Amy stopped sensing anything but the energy.

The owner of the energy stopped right in front of Amy. For a moment Amy thought she was going to be attacked, but she could not raise her head, could not even move... she started to believe that the thing that came was not human. She closed her eyes and held her breath in a silence that she had never felt before.
