CHAPTER TEN
"What is keeping so long." Kimberly asked, after Tracy's long stay.
"I'm coming." She replied, picking up the card.
"Kelvin." She read out the name in it.
"What were you discussing with that young man or.. don't tell me what I am thinking." Kimberly said.
"To hell with you and your stinky thoughts." She hissed.
"Is that not a business card I am seeing or is my eyes malfunctioning?" Diana said, rubbing her hands over her face.
"Your eyes aren't malfunctioning baby, it's a card," Kimberly laughed. "Are you getting hooked on him?.. I hope he's rich." She said, ribbing Tracy.
"It's a rich guy, we need not some wretched drunkard that won't be able to afford to pay for a date." Diana said shitty.
Tracy placed the card into her bag carefully, paying less attention to their words. She started arranging the necessary items.
"Let's be a snappy girl, it's getting dark already," Birsha said, she dropped the key on the counter. "I will be going with Diana now to make dinner,"she said afterward.
"Tracy, you haven't told me who your boss is." Kimberly said immediately Birsha left with Diana.
"Why don't you find out yourself." She snapped.
"YoohMan." Mordecai said immediately he entered the bar. They planned on meeting there after work, probably, to spend some time with each other.
Martin looked tired but extremely hot, his exquisite contour standing out, his upright posture, exquisite suit and expensive diamond earrings on his left ear. He looks so much like a noble man.
However, there was an aura of coldness and fierceness emanating from him, which made people involuntarily sum up to his presence.
"Young Billionaire." Mordecai hailed, like he always does.
"Could you at least lower your voice fool." Martin hissed.
"You want me to scream you out right?" Mordecai laughed.
"You dare not." He said.
"Attention everyone." Mordecai screamed. Everyone in the bar looked the way instantly.
"Stop fools." He chortled.
"Stop what," Mordecai asked frivolously. "Just watch yourself being crowded like a bee does on sugar."
"Let me shut you up with Lamborghini." Martin said, raising his key in the air.
"Woohoo!, Love that," Mordecai gushed. "Okay guys, this is what I want to say," he took a breath, studying the people's reaction. "Your bill on me." He announced, and a loud scream followed.
"What do you think you are doing?" Martin asked. He gives Mordecai a beleaguered look.
"What do they look like?" Mordecai asked back.
"Whatever, suit yourself."
"Waiter."
"What should I bring?" The waiter asked.
"Get me a bottle of wine." Martin said
"Is that all?"
"I need a cocktail and some meat, please make it snappy." Mordecai said.
The order was bought even before their spit could dry.
"How was work today? It's your first day, so I have a lot to hear."
"You wouldn't believe that clumsy girl we went to last day was my P.A ." Martin said.
"Really, this is not a coincidence , this is fate." Mordecai said delightfully.
"I already fired her."
"What??. First day of resumption?." Mordecai asked, stunned by his actions.
"Who is that?."
"Apparently, me!!" He picks up his glasses of wine, and sips from it.
"Oooh, this is cruel, you are really a bad guy."
"Let's go home dude."
Kelvin descends the stairs to the sitting room with right hand in his pocket, and he holds his phone with the second hand.
He was so devoted to his phone that he didn't notice the flower vase beside the staircase.
"Oomph!" He exclaimed, when he saw the vase fell.
Ding- Ding
His phone rang.
"Who's calling?" He hissed; he thought it was his father because ran all the way down here only for him not to meet him at home.
A gusto smile escapes the corner of his lips when the caller ID shows no name.
"Who is on the line?" He is straight.
"The smile machine is sounding stern now." The tiny yet melodious voice said from the other end.
"Oh, the non smiling angel." Kelvin said, smiling sheepishly. She laughed when he said that.
"And what is your beautiful name?." He asked.
"Tracy Alfred."
"What a beautiful name for a beautiful damsel." Kelvin said.
"Thanks, thanks.. I have to go now." She said,
"You don't mind knowing my name." He asked.
"I already know it."
"Kelvin, how was your meeting with Mr Hodeson?" Mr Cornelius asked.
"Talk to you later." He cut the call.
"Fine." He replied dryly.
"Father." He called, after some waves of silence between them.
"I want you to meet with those boys." Mr Cornelius said, leaving for his room.
"Okay father," he said inaudibly, he could hardly hear himself. "Am leaving this house to get mine." He said aloud, which made his father stop on his track.
"No, never." He replied shortly before coming in.
"Welcome son."
Kelvin could hear his mother's voice. He hissed loudly and walked to his room.
"Mummy." He replied in a tired voice.
"I know work would be stressful today, just go in and freshen up and come back for dinner." Eugenia said.
A sweet strawberry scent meets with his nostril immediately he steps into his room. The room was looking so we'll arrange, the white wallpaper makes the luxurious room look dashingly.
He walked into the bathroom, undressed and entered the extremely cold water.
His mind drafts back to Tracy, how she acts courageous this minute and fearful the other minute.
A smile when I remember the look on her face when she found out he is the boss.
'What if I don't get a new P.A' he thought.
"I can't bear going through the stress I go through today every single day, I have to get her back if I don't find one tomorrow." He said to himself.
"You must be very sick down there to think such of me, scumbag."
He could hear her voice in his head. He opened his eyes quickly.
"Am I daydreaming or what??.. Why is she showing in my head." He thought aloud.
