Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: The Plan B!

It was already Kaytu's sleeping time, and Tahira, his first wife, had ordered a new bed spread and blanket. She had already gotten the portion from the three great ones, and now she's ready to get into action.

She secludedly went into Kaytu's room and sprayed the portion into the air as instructed.

She sat and envisaged for Kaytu to come in.

"Your Majesty, The senior queen goddess had just sprayed something in the air; the invisible being had hurried back and revealed to Kaytu what he'd espied of Tahira.

Kaytu, who was on the verge of irrupting into room, replied, "Okay! You're released for today; go back and rest."

"Thank you, your Majesty?' He went mute, as he had already left.

"You're really daring me, Tahira!" Kaytu muttered to himself.

Kaytu was apprised of how effectual this particular portion was; his parents had once told him about a proficient portion of the airkinds used for gods who likely don't like to mate or don't mate as desired. He might be the most powerful, but he himself wasn't sure if this portion would have an effect on him or not; he couldn't and wouldn't risk it by going into his room; instead, he might work overnight.

He didn't know why his women were now showing interest in him; he had never wanted to love! All he wanted was to rule greatly. It was love that had made his parents become so tender and frail; yet, they were killed by the ones they claimed to love.

Should he then give his heart out? And truly, he hadn't come accross anyone who could actually love him like he wanted; he had a dark side to himself unknown to most.

Paisley's feelings might be true, but mostly filled with infatuation, there are some things her feelings wouldn't not be able to withstand. If he should lose his powers or position, Paisley would eventually leave him, not even to mention his dark side.

And he wasn't sure if, truly, the one who was meant to open his heart would ever come to him.

The prophecy had described her as a great goddess, but till now he hadn't seen one that could be her.

Kaytu was immersed in his own ponders.

His mind drifted to the human he had left in the prison earlier and he opted to go meet her; he must end her! before anyone will come to know.

He vanished.

Getting to the Prison ward, which was actually a room due to how comfortable it was, he saw the human lay on the bed, as she had already dozed off, without touching the meal Kaytu had brought for her earlier.

He had to supply dishes to her personally; no one else apart from the invisible being must know a human is in Nadi. A ruckus would surely surface if that happens.

He stared at her reclusively as she lay slumbering like an unconscious soul.

He strode near to the bed to get a proper view of her; he unwittingly sat on the bed beside her. He could hear her steady breath in a rhythmic flow; she was sweating—she's human after all; their bodies respond to nature more than theirs, who are immortals. Kaytu hunched to himself.

From her side view, Kaytu could see how delicate she was; her body looked fragile just like how humans are—they are too low for a kind like his'. He deduced.

Subconsciously, Kaytu lifted his hand and wiped off the sweat drops that had gathered on her forehead. With this, he discovered how graceful she truly was—pure beauty with delicate skin, fine lips, full and well-arched brows, long and curly lashes, brown wavy hair, and smooth but soft fair skin.

Kaytu discerned all of this as he gaped at her intensely.

She was indeed appealing—but it's a pity this beauty has to end tonight!

He picked up his dagger, in a hurl to thrust it into her, as he held the dagger proximate to her stomach.

But in the next minute, It felt like he was being electrified as his hand vibrated vigorously making the dagger fall out of his hand.

He couldn't?

He, Kaytu! Couldn't?!

Just a mere human?!

He looked closely at the sleeping lady and his eyes flickered for a moment—why would he resist?

'Young lady! Who exactly are you?' Kaytu asked himself inwardly.

He stood and vanished enigmatically to his abode to proceed with work, although still still fighting with his emotions as he doesn't comprehend why he would resist killing such a low life.

Tahira had unknowingly catnapped the previous night while awaiting Kaytu; she had just awoken and discovered she was still intact. She searched herself and found out nothing had actually transpired the night before.

She gazed around, and it didn't seem like Kaytu had slept in the room at all.

'Oh no!! Kaytu didn't come in! And now the portion had just been wasted! which is the only one left in the whole of the clan! Tahira felt frustrated that her devise had fallen in the mud.

It was time for the servants to clean up Kaytu's room, as they were already at the entrance. She quickly brushed herself up and decamped from the room.

While she was just stepping out, Paisley spotted her, and her (Paisley's) expression changed slightly. Why would she be coming out of Kaytu's room early in the morning?' Paisley broke her own thought as Tahira had almost gotten to where she was.

"Good morning, Senior Queen Goddess!" Paisley greeted humbly.

"Good morning, Goddess Paisley!" Tahira answered with a bit of embarrassment written on her face as she walked past Paisley in a hurry.

To Tahira, it's possible Paisley knew about the fact that she slept in Kaytu's room last night and that Kaytu didn't sleep in his room all night.

The more reason she took the initiative to reply Paisley.

Paisley glared at her as she walked away, amazed at how Tahira had responded to her greetings.

She must find out what really happened last night! Paisley concluded.

"Your Majesty! We've just confirmed that a gross number of Nadians faded last night and also this morning due to poison intake." Samir said while standing in front of Kaytu as he bowed slightly.

"Really?!" Kaytu was taken aback.

"We don't know the source of the poison yet, but it was reported that some had gone to the river this morning and some had drank from the spring the previous day." Samir said.

"You must find out the source of that poison before today, I don't care the means; all I need is a result!" Kaytu ordered as his expression turned dark.

Samir walked to the entrance and vanished afterwards.

"Some beings are really daring me!" Kaytu said, silently burning with rage as he glared into the space.

Not quite long after Samir left, the invisible being came to deliver his report to Kaytu.

"Your Majesty! I don't know why, but I couldn't find a thing on the female prisoner; it's like she never existed here."

"You mean nothing connects her to Nadi?" Kaytu asked surprisedly.

"For now, I haven't gotten any clue, your majesty," The voice replied.

"Ok, prepare how she would wash up and get some dresses for her to change; humans can be stinky when they don't bathe." Kaytu mocked stylishly.

"Then keep making your discoveries," he added.

Okay, your majesty!" The voice said nothing and left afterwards.
