Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Recollection I

It was the fire market day, which comes up twice in eight days.

Goddess Lima and Tahira strolled round the market majestically to see what they could get for themselves.

In the Nadi clan where Kaytu rules, the gods and goddesses who were the inhabitants of the clan possessed four major elements.

Fire, water, air, and earth.

And each kind runs the market every two-two days according to the new rule of Kaytu.

"Oohff! I really like fire market days! I get to buy gorgeous necklaces and crowns... Ki! ki! ki!"

Goddess Lima declared as she giggled.

"Yeah... and also get to watch fire works." Goddess Tahira replied as she blowed herself in the hot market with her costly hand fan, even the air in her could not blow off the degree of heat that took over the market atmosphere.

Lima sighted a vendor from afar marketing a gorgeous crown to a goddess, she held unto Tahira's arm and pointed toward the vendor.

"Goddess Tahira, did you see that crown? I should get it! It'll really suit me!"

She broke away from Tahira and rushed up to meet the vendor before he would sell it out to the goddess in front of him.

Tahira lagged behind deliberately as she found Lima's attitude annoying while she rolled her eyes enviously.

"What is she feeling like? aargh!" She mumured silently as she strolled down the aisle majestically in between the vendors.

Paisley had just arrived at the market after she had vanished from her father's premise, she was still feeling uncomfortable with the thoughts that had filled her mind from earlier.

She gazed around and opted to maintain a proper composure; afterall, she was a queen goddess, Kaytu's second wife, she shouldn't be seen fazed or helpless.

She surged forward with the aim to see what could be bought in today's fire market.

She spotted a glowing gold bracelet displayed by a vendor.

"Wow! too tempting!" She exclaimed silently in a slow manner as she walked up to the vendor's store.

By that time, Tahira had espied her from a bit afar as she hid at an alcove to avoid Paisley spotting her, she wanted to discern what paisley would get for herself.

Paisley got to the store and the vendor recognised her immediately.

"You're welcome queen goddess, what will her majesty like to get from our store?" He questioned her politely.

"I love this Bracelet! wrap it up for me." she responded.

"With all due respect your majesty, this Bracelet is meant for the masculine gender, it won't befit a lady like her majesty" The vendor elucidated.

"I know that alright? Just wrap it up!" She said authoritatively.

The vendor couldn't refute, as he quickly took out the bracelet and wrapped it exquisitely.

"What's the cost?" Paisley inquired.

"Your majesty, it's just five of a hundred thousand" replied the vendor.

"Five what?!" Paisley felt stunned instantly, she didn't bank on the bracelet being that costly.

The vendor noticed the change in her tone and got scared for his life—her majesty shouldn't be angered by a low class like him.

Although, there had been secret rumours that god Kaytu do not love his wives, but that give a leeway that anyone could anger them on purpose.

The vendor thought of this and quickly gave it a burl to explain himself.

"Your majesty, I wasn't trying to extort money from you, this bracelet is available only in this piece, it was made with a very rare treasure, and it's consumes a decade of my energy in refining it to become like this, that's the reason why it's so costly."

"A decade my foot!" Paisley cursed under her breath.

Paisley pondered on the amount of the money with her, she only had seven of a hundred thousand in her wooden bank; If she had not given her father three of a hundred thousand out of a million allowance Kaytu had given her for a month, she would have been able to purchase the bracelet without thinking twice.

If she should spend another five of a hundred thousand, she would actually go broke for this month, she felt helpless.

She looked at the bracelet that had already been wrapped, she knew she could forcefully take the bracelet from the vendor if she should use her influence as the queen goddess, but no! Kaytu would have her head being fed to the demons!

She shivered at this thought and chose to purchase the bracelet at last.

She thought to herself, if she could really get this for Kaytu, it might actually melt his heart towards her and make him understood her feelings for him.

This was what the other wives were lacking, they were just there for money and fame, and she was there for Kaytu's love.

If Kaytu eventually acknowledges her as his love, won't the fame and all the money come to her naturally?

She smiled at her own thought.

She spell-called her wooden bank with the key she was with, she paid the vendor and took the bracelet with her then moved away from the store.

Although she had gone broke at this point with just two of a hundred thousand left and the month will be ending in three weeks to come, at most she would ask her mother for money and find a false tale to narrate her.

She threaded forward in a gleeful manner after thinking of the best solution to her broke state.

Tahira captured everything that went down at the store, but couldn't pick on what paisley and the vendor had discussed.

She knew the bracelet was for Kaytu, which made her more envious.

"Ayah!.... She thinks she can really win Kaytu's love?....tsk! So pretentious!" She murmured silently.

Tahira left her hiding corner as she saw some guards coming with force, they looked familiar! "Yes! These are Kaytu's guards! Who are they coming for?"

She was still speculating on this when she saw them halt in front of Paisley.

"Queen goddess!!" The guards chorused as they bowed to her.

"What is it?" Paisley questioned in a pissed off manner, she knew something was up.

"His majesty, sent us to fetch you back to the premise at this moment!" The chief gaurd said firmly but respectfully.

Paisley couldn't refute Kaytu's order as her face turned green out of fear, after a little hesitation, she followed as they vanished into thin air.

Tahira who had witnessed Paisley's reaction before she left with the gaurds took the initiative to look for Lima.

She looked around and finally saw her at another vendor's store bargaining on the price of a very expensive earrings.

Upon seeing her, Tahira dragged Lima to a side and whispered.

"I think our dear queen paisley is in trouble!, Let's go back to the premise to watch some drama!"

"Really?!....it'll be fun indeed!" Lima replied in a contemptuous manner.

She turned to pay the vendor for the earrings and left with Tahira as they both vanished.
