I rested for the whole year without my normally extraneous daily activities, as a result, my body is now rusty. For the months I cried and contemplated my newly regained memories, I only went out for a simple jog and that was it.
Most times, I won't even go out at all. Although, after a while, I did spend most of my time in the library...
Now that I give up knowing anything about how I came to get my past life's memories, I'm going to continue to how I am as Nera mi Ponterise.
"You finally went out of that torture chamber!"
Noel mi Ponterise, my eldest brother, shouts at me as he stretches his arms and body. I just came out of the house, which is around a few meters away from where he is, yet he already senses my presence. Scary...
I walk near him, starting my own stretches as I stay in a spot.
"What do you mean torture? The library is such a majestic place," I reply, to which he rapidly reacts. He stops stretching and stares at me with disbelief plastered on his face. "Stop staring at me like that. I mean it."
I attempt to punch his face but again, for the nth time, he catches it. Then covers my fists with his hands and caresses them. Shocking my whole being, I glare at his hand while trying my best to pry it away.
It doesn't work, because he's too strong! Damnit!
"My dear idiot sister... where have you gone...?" Noel sobs as he continues to move his hands on mine.
He really is crying... as per usual, but if the other knights that look up to their Captain could see this man now, they would be bewildered seeing their idol like this.
Still unable to remove my hand from his, I try to punch Noel again with my other free hand but am immediately caught by my other brother, Noah mi Ponterise.
As he recently arrived at the scene, inspects the situation with serious eyes, looking down at me and then towards our sobbing brother.
"Why is he crying now?" Noah asks, with one of his eyebrows up.
"She... she said she liked being in the library!" Noel let go of my hands and points it at me instead.
Shaking my free hand, I stare at Noel, as if I was watching a kid telling his mom of the bad kid that is bullying him. Where's that strict and level-headed Captain we are talking about?
I sigh and look at Noah's expression. Surely he won't be overreacting to this, right? He's my smart brother after all...
But to my disappointment, after I glanced at him, I squint my eyes. The same exact disbelief and suspicion that is on my idiot eldest brother Noel's face, is also on Noah's annoying face.
Oh, my goddess...
"Wh-Who are you?!" Noah tightens his grip on my right hand, which he is holding with both of his. "Bring back my sister!"
My jaw drops seeing both of them like this. Even though we did often fool around with each other as siblings, this is the first time they react when I tell them I like something.
I get it, it's unlikely for me, but this is getting frustrating.
As they continue rambling, I forcibly take my hand away from Noah and frown at the both of them.
"Oh shut up, it's not the end of the world. I found out that I like reading, so what?"
Noah holds onto our older brother's arm and shakes it violently.
"Our sister is gone!"
"Why?!" Noel responds to his stupidity. "Why did you have to fall off that horse?" He then pulls his younger brother into a tight hug, to which Noah returns.
"I don't know! Why is our baby sister like this!?"
To avoid their early morning bullshit, I groan out of frustration and run away from them to, finally, start my morning jog. I wouldn't wanna watch another second of that dumbass show.
Why do I have to deal with this first thing in the morning?
But of course, even though I jogged away first, they quickly catch up. Not even breathless, they effortlessly run beside me.
"We have come to an agreement, fake sister," Noah says.
"If you can finish ten laps around the mansion first, we will believe you're Nera." Noel nods.
"What the fu--?!"
How absurd! I can't believe these two!
"Starting now!"
But before they even hear me agree, one of them shouts, but I can't recognize who it is because they sprinted away swiftly. The way they accelerated is truly no joke.
Even if I am a Ponterise who is naturally gifted in terms of natural strength, I could never defeat those two. They are Ponterises too after all.
I thought the deal was stupid but... I'm even more so! I can't back down from their challenge even if I know what the result is going to be!
"Oh, fuck it!" I grunt and run as fast as I can to catch up to them.
Today, I was supposed to be having a simple jog, which ends up as a race. And it results to my failure, as always.
"Hah..." I breathe out after my 10th lap. I fall down on my back, desperately breathing for air.
I hear laughter from both sides.
"Hah... You are still our dumb little sister." Noah ruffles my head which made my already messy hair, messier.
"Oh, so you believe me now?" I speak in between breaths.
"We believed you from the start." Noel gives me a glass of water, after opening his aura and cools it.
I squint my eyes at the glass.
This guy, finished way longer before me since he had the time to ask for a glass of water from the mansion.
Whatever.
I take it, drinking most before pouring the rest on my head.
"I went along with what Noel was saying earlier." Noah laughs and sits beside me. "Did you seriously think I'm that stupid to think you're not our sister?"
Noel gives me a small smile as he takes the glass from me.
"I was really surprised with what you said though. That's how I ended up crying."
Noah, this annoying ass, still likes playing pranks around the both of us. Noel, yeah, even I would be surprised by what I said.
I nod and lie down on the ground for a few minutes more.
"Another round? You've been missing out on training for a while." Noel speaks.
"Are you an idiot?" I reply.
"Said the idiot number two," Noah interjects.
I roll my eyes, ignoring his comment. "I'm tired. I'll go to the training grounds later."
"Then I'll wait here." Noel sat on the other side of me, while Noah lightly nods and gives him a gentle smile.
What are they doing? I get why Noah is staying since he hates training but Noel? Wasting time here to wait for me? Noah smiling like that is weird too.
Ah, whatever. I'm just gonna let them do what they want.
So, we stayed there for at least ten minutes, quietly but comfortably resting.
A grin suddenly forms on my face.
...It's not so bad hanging out like this.
