Chereads / I Got Sent in My Favorite Novel to Save It?! / Chapter 6 - Becoming a Knight (1)

Chapter 6 - Becoming a Knight (1)

After grabbing a quick lunch and going up to my room to freshen up, I heard a loud obnoxious voice shout my name.

"Nera! Teach me more!"

Oh, it's Noel, he must talking about the exercises I discussed earlier. I run up to the door and answer him with a smile.

"Alright. I'll just change my clothes."

"Great. I'll be waiting at the training grounds then." He cheerfully replies.

I giggle as I heard him say that. It's always such a delight seeing him.

Even though he's the heir of the Marquess Ponterise title and the eldest of us three, I'm glad that he stayed as this cheerful guy as he was back then. He did change of course, matured a bit after he became a knight, but I'm happy that he's still the same brother that I know.

After changing my clothes, I arrive at the training grounds and see Noel and Noah sparring. When they hear my footsteps, they immediately stop.

Talk about control.

They exchange a few words then run up to me.

"Oh, Noah? You're here? What about your beauty sleep?"

Noah scoffs and crosses his arms. "Well, I couldn't let you hog all the time with my precious older brother, you know,"

Noel and I chuckle.

"And also, I'm still curious about that 'book' you read." He gently smiles, which to me looks devious. He also air-quotes the word 'book'.

Tsk, he's suspecting something, isn't he? I sigh and continue talking.

"Whatever, anyway..."

There, I discuss the remaining exercises that I know of from late afternoon to evening.

"I never knew that the body needed that much attention." Noel scratches his head.

"Yeah. Who knew you could improve it without aura?" Noah adds.

Of course, you wouldn't know. This world's logic just won't allow you to think like that. Even I, as Nera, didn't think of something as simple as this.

The knights that aren't gifted with amazing mana storage and control like Noel and Noah still had mana, every human in this world does. They only thought to train themselves in mastering their aura rather than building the body. That's completely logical here since mana is the way of life.

"And Nera here just 'happened' to stumble upon an incredible book that she just 'happened' to forget," Noah interjects and that made me flinch. "You also 'happen' to teach it to us so thoroughly and even tell us answers to our questions with such nuances."

"So, what are you getting at?"

"I may be giving you too much credit for your dumb brain but I don't think you read it from 'one book'."

"...!"

"You may have even made it up yourself or read it from multiple sources and then memorized to tweak it for yourself."

This annoying smartass! How can he even go to a conclusion so fast?

"Are you stupid?"

"You, of all people, are telling me that? You can't lie to me you know." He smirks as he saw me flinch.

"Well, you're wrong. I really did read it from a book."

"So, you're saying my doubt is coming from nowhere?"

"Yeah."

"Are you sure?" He tilts his head, and I unconsciously look away from his eyes.

How can I hide my reactions from him?!

"Nera, calm down. You know that he always does this to provoke you, right?" Noel wraps his arms around my torso, keeping me from punching Noah.

"Why'd you gotta spoil it, Noel?" Noah chuckles.

"Because I'm slowly starting to get convinced that Noah is right about this newly found knowledge of yours, Nera." Noel furrows his eyebrows.

He's serious!

"Told you!"

"Oh, come on, Noel! How can you believe that I made up something that amazing?"

"Because you're amazing, Nera. Noah obviously knows that."

My eyes widen at his words. Why is he so stupidly honest?

Noah fakes a cough. "That's not where I'm getting at but I'm right, aren't I, Nera?"

"No!"

"Ugh. Why do you hate being credited for it so much?"

"..."

Back in my previous world, it was common knowledge that if you exercise and take care of your body well, you'll have a stronger, or just simply, healthier body. But here, it's a new kind of knowledge! Since aura and healing mana are a thing of this world, there wasn't much need to study the body. If people here knew that it came from me, I'd be credited for it which I don't want.

First, because it's going to make unnecessary traction focused on me, and second is...

Because it's plagiarism!

Even if I was a barely passing student, I always followed school rules and had a decent amount of dignity. Yeah, I copied homework from my friends but never on a test or especially, a major one! I always thought that plagiarism is the worst kind of thing in school and even now. That principle will always stay the same.

"Ughhh..." I groan and hold on my head.

"Sigh, stop thinking too much. Your brain will shut down."

"You annoying piece of shit!" Still stuck in Noel's arms, incapable of escaping, I just flail my arms in the air. "I just don't wanna..."

"Pfft, well--"

"Noah, stop it," Noel speaks sternly and Noah stiffens in position.

"...Sorry."

"Let's talk about this later," Noel sighs and puts me down gently. "When we eat dinner."

Calming down after hearing Noel's strict but soothing voice, we both nod and go into the mansion after seeing the dark raven sky.
