My heart skipped million beats. What? I thought I had things under control. Wasn't he supposed to be gone for good with mother around?
"What...what are you doing here?" I rose to my feet with a jolt.
"I'm here to see you." Came his reply.
"Huh?" I shook my head to see if he would disappear but he was still there. "You are not real. I thought I had gotten rid of you, so how are you still here?" I blabered on, not quiet sure what it is that I was even feeling.
"Well I couldn't come because you wouldn't let me Tezznin." Ghost boy inched closer from the window.
"I wouldn't let you?" I shook my head of all the flooding thoughts. "I don't understand." I probed further for answers.
"Come with me and I'll tell you everything." He neared me, stretching out his beefy palms to me.
"Don't..don't come any closer." I halted him in his advance.
"Please come with me." He walked even closer. The little light from the moon revealed his face, looking paler than usual.
"Go away. You'd wake mother up."
"Then come with me." He pleaded. A pained look washing over his face. Why was he doing this to me? I couldn't figure him out.
"What do you want?" I whispered, almost desperately. "I'm tired."😓
"I'm sorry Tezznin. Just come with me this time and I promise I will leave you alone for good." He said, now sitting on the edge of the bed as I stood by the side table. His complexion seemed really pale, or was it my eyes working tricks on me? I didn't know.
"Just once, you promise?" I asked with a soft tone.
"Just this once, I promise." He assured rising and walking towards me. "Take my hand." He stretched out his hand to me again.
My gaze hesitantly loomed over my mother's sleeping figure before I finally did the one thing I never imagined I'd do.
"Hold on tight." He said, pulling me closer until I was strongly but gently pressed into his broad chest. His smell of pine and coconut filling my nostrils. "Where to?". I asked.
"Heaven." He answered.
