Wake up. Get dressed. Go to school. This was the routine day in and day out for Jason Evans. Jason wasn't an exceptional person in any way in fact he was very average. Height? Average. Looks? Average. Intelligence? Average. No big plans for the future his parents had always told him that it is easier to just go with the flow and follow others. "If you just go with everyone else you won't be a target". Jason had listened to them his whole life.
He woke up to his alarm going off and rubbed his eyes to try to force himself to snap out of the half sleep trance he was in. When he was finally able to function a little bit he walked to the kitchen and made a bowl of cereal. His mom came out and asked " how did you sleep?" Jason had a mouthful of food so he just grunted and kept eating. He finished his breakfast and started the ten minute walk to school. He stepped outside and felt the breeze blow through his messy blonde hair, the birds chirped cheerfully in the mild air. He heard his childhood friend and neighbor, Ivy called to him to wait for her and he stood there as she ran to catch up to him.
" Hey, how's it going" She asked me with a bright smile
" I've been ok, how about yourself?" I responded with as much enthusiasm as I could while it was still this early in the morning.
Ivy was a good friend of Jason's that he practically grew up with. She was as amazing as Jason was average. They were both in eleventh grade but she was at the top of the class as well as the class president. Her looks made her very popular with certain people and her warm and approachable personality meant that she was well liked by everyone. Jason didn't hate Ivy for her being so amazing at everything he just wished he wasn't average at everything, and in response to that the universe gave him an answer.
