Chapter 4 - - chapter 4- Philip

*level up*

Jason looked at those words as the others inspected him and made sure he was ok. His eyes had lost the glaze and his maniacal grin had faded to a more subdued smile. When he realized what the level up actually meant he opened up his stats.

Some of his health was gone but it was quickly being regained through the efforts of Ivy. In his mind, Jason kept replaying the fight, but then he heard a shout and a group if about fifteen people came out of the trees coming from the direction that the wolf had come from.

The newly arrived group was consisting of mostly men and almost all of them were in tremendous shape. The person leading the party stepped forward and introduced himself as Philip.

" You guys wouldn't happen to be the ones that killed that thing would you?" he said as his eyes glanced over to the carcass of the wolf.

David seemingly protective of the others after their recent fight answered cautiously.

" Yeah, we killed it. I'm sorry if that was a problem."

" Oh, it isn't a big deal. We were just chasing it, and it was just surprising that the four of you killed it despite your young age" Philip answered hurriedly in an attempt to not scare the four. " In fact, I'm interested in working together. How about it? We have the numbers and you guys seem to be talented; I'm sure we can come together and make it safer for both groups"

It wasn't really that hard of a decision and from there on the two groups merged together. The next couple of days were a blur of them making a base of operations along a river that was not far from where Jason first awoke. Tents and food were made from the animals that hunting parties brought in. Jason was the only one from the group he woke up with that joined the hunting parties, all the others stayed either sewing and building the tents or trying to make food and caring for the sick. Despite the hunting that he did, Jason felt like it was hollow. He didn't feel the rush like from the first fight. He would just stand back while the archers and mages launched arrows or bolts of magic. When the animal was on the verge of dying anyways was when one of the melee fighters finished it off. Jason hadn't even gotten a single level and was starting to get sick and tired of the boring fights and craved for more untill one night he was fed up enough that he left the group and ventured out on his own with nothing more than some basic survival essentials.
