Chapter 4 - IV

"Listen you can't stay here. It's not safe." Evan told Arima. "What should I do?" He asked.

"Leave the worrying part to me and get dressed. We're rolling out soon."

"What do you mean we? You can't be a part of my mess."

"Would you leave me be if something grave happened to me?" Evan asked. Arima was speechless. He never wanted to hug someone in his life more than today. "That's what I thought. Now get dressed sweet cheeks."

While he was getting dressed Evan asked Arima to take those masks that they made together for fun some years past. They were a pair of plain white plastic masks without any eyeholes or breathing holes. One had a red X on its left eye and one a red O for the right eye painted with acrylic. Evan suggested that it would be better if they hid their faces while outside so that they can't be recognised as runaways.

Arima hopped onto the bike Evan went and stole from his dad's garrage. He also stole a good amount of capital from his dad's bank wallet. For that ofcourse he had no other choice but to hack into his dad's conscience. Together they went off as runaways into the unknown world.

Not even an hour had passed and the two best friends had made their names to the wanted list. Not one person was unaware of there being two runaway high-schoolers. Their names were in every holographic lightboard.

They rode the bike until they were nowhere near places they visited the most in the metropolis. Only stopping at sundown to take a break and refuel. They didn't know what place they were in, other than there being a nitrogen refuel station. Arima was scared. Evan was tense.

They looked at each other and started laughing.

"WELCOME TO FREEDOM!"Evan shouted.

"I'M A FREE MONSTER!" Arima exclaimed.

Tears of joy didn't seem to stop the more they laughed.

"You hungry yet?" Evan asked Arima. "You bet. Got anywhere in mind?" Arima said, wiping his tears. "Let's check this area out." Evan suggested.

They went around the corner and there was a decent looking Mc Kruger's chicken take-out. They ordered two burgers and a side of fries. It was just their ordinary burgers but these were special as they were the first food in their life as runaways. They didn't knew what life would have in store for them.
